  1. I've never seen that before - did you get an email or did that pop up on the screen when you checked bid status?
  2. New property for PRICELINE EXPRESS list. Amenities listed included: Pool, Fitness Center, Free Parking, Free Breakfast & Free WiFi. Also listed "bed choice" as an option.
  3. Priceline Express deal. I started with the links here, as always. The listing gave the following information: 2½ Star Hotel in Iowa City - Coralville Area for $56/night Rated 9.0 out of 10 (or higher) <3 Guest Favorite <3 Free Breakfast Free Internet in room Indoor Swimming Pool Free Parking Business Center Fitness Center Said I saved 49% and that's about accurate since the price on their website was $109.98 Location info: Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Coralville 2½ star Iowa City - Coralville 970 25Th Avenue, Coralville, IA 52241
  4. Oh, I know there is a way to designate HOTWIRE or PRICELINE bidding when reporting a win, I was speaking specifically to the PRICELINE EXPRESS and Hotwire hot Deals wins since we've seen that rarely are the same hotels in both groups. I don't recall now what amenities were listed except for sure breakfast & pool. It is the Lake Street one and it was listed in the Elmhurst zone for sure because I narrowed the search results down by clicking the box next to only the Elmhurst zone. HTH
  5. I hate that there isn't a way to designate the wins either here or on the hotel list as Priceline Express/Hotwire hot Deal but at any rate, this was a Priceline Express deal and I began my search by clicking the link here. At first, there were only a few hotels that showed up so I tried bidding for $40-$43 for a 3 star+ in the Oak Brook area (by the way, Oak Brook is two words - it's only one word when you're talking about neighboring Oakbrook Terrace). Those bids were of course not accepted but when I clicked the tab to try for a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal, suddenly there was another option that fit the bill, it was a $58/night 3 star hotel that said it was 45% off and a guest favorite. I deduced that it was likely Springhill just based on the limited options for 3 star in that area. Very happy since I'll be traveling with kids and even though I used to live there, I've never been to this particular hotel. Looks nice in the pictures and reviews! Not sure if it was a coincidence that that hotel popped up after the bidding that I did or if that is what made it show up but I was pleased to see it, regardless. :)
  6. That is weird that there are so many within just a few miles - this one was on Technology Drive. :)
  7. This was a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal. Started with the link here, of course. Amenities listed: Free Internet, Parking, & Breakfast, Pets Allowed & Bed Choice. I figured it was an ESA based on the room "choice": Studio Queen Bed Kitchen Dining And Work Area. It's a decent place to stay, clean and roomy. Full kitchen including refrigerator and stove in each room plus a small dining area. Breakfast is "grab & go" but fine for our needs. It's right near Yorktown and since it's off Butterfield a ways, it's pretty quiet.
  8. Started with the HOTWIRE link here & as per usual, added a new hotel to the list for Peoria. It's a dandy, too ;) Here's the amenities it showed and "still gathering reviews" on the property but I can attest that it's a step above the dog pound but not much higher. LOL It's fine for a guy on a work trip & since I don't have to sleep there, I can't complain. DH probably will though. Amenities shown: Free Parking Free Internet Laundry Facilities (self-service) Rate per night:$39.00 Nights:3 Rooms:1 Tax recovery charges & fees:$19.78 Subtotal:$136.78 I think the known properties list is a little off for the Peoria area but I'm probably one of 2 people that stay there so that explains it. For instance, I'm pretty sure the one star property that was listed at $38 with a pool is the Baymont Inn & Suites. I say that b/c it's the ONLY 1 star property with a pool in the area and it's close to the PRICELINE EXPRESS deals price.
  9. Whoops - sorry about that! Here are the amenities that show for this West Peoria 1 star property: Free Breakfast Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Pets Allowed Business Center Fitness Center
  10. This was a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal - wasn't sure where to post exactly but I tried traditional bidding on a 2 star+ in Peoria West hoping for the Jameson Inn without success. Started with $30 and was rejected, added Peoria East and raised bid to $32 but was rejected again. Noticed the "express deals" tab so I decided to check them out since Peoria is small-ish and I was pretty confident that I knew which hotel was which. Saw the Baymont Inn and Suites on there (pool, breakfast, business center, etc) for $29/night so I hopped on it. We've stayed there before and it's a decent place, especially at that price. Started with the PRICELINE link here, of course.
  11. Started with $50 for a 4 star, was offered a re-bid at $61, declined. Added 3.5 star, stayed at $45 and accepted at Marriott Downers Grove Suites. PRICELINE link here first, of course.
  12. Started with the PRICELINE link here of course. Tried $50 for a 3.5 star in Oak Brook - denied but offered an instant deal at $62 but I declined. Added Elmhurst and eventually St Chuck and got up to $54 w/o success. Dropped my stars to 2.5, added Willowbrook and bid $43 and got the hotel I wanted in the first place :P
  13. Honestly, I add a new hotel to the list *every single time* I bid lately. LOL Comfort Suites Oakbrook Terrace 2½ star Oak Brook - Downer's Grove 17 West 445 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, IL $43 + $9.26 tax per night This time I did no bidding strategy and that's probably why I didn't get the hotel I wanted but this one looks fine. I just did a straight $43 bid on a 2.5 star hotel. Reviews are decent and we're easy to please. :) Started with the PRICELINE link here of course.
  14. Used the PRICELINE link from here, of course. Started with 3 stars in Oak Brook at $40, rejected. Added 2.5 stars and changed bid amount to $43 and it was accepted at the Clubhouse Inn & Suites in Westmont again :) I love this place and it's close to Chicago South Side-ish (as close as you can get and still get a good hotel deal anyway) so it is perfect for our needs. Nice breakfast, free wifi, cocktail hour, decent beds and fridge/micro in every room. Can't beat it at $43 (+12.59 taxes and P/L fees).
  15. Opened with $38 in Oakbrook at 3.5 stars which I knew was not going to happen. Rejected so I added Elmhurst and increased bid to $40 and also added 3 star, again rejected. Finally I added St Charles and dropped to 2.5 stars and increased my bid to $45 because I needed it tonight. And for like the third straight win, added a new hotel to the list! Clubhouse Inn Westmont Oak Brook - Downer's Grove 630 Pasquinelli Drive, Westmont, IL 60559 $45 plus Taxes & Fees: $12.84 $57.84 I have actually stayed at this hotel before and it was very nice. We had a suite before and it was very spacious. They have happy hour, good breakfast & a hot tub. What's not to love!? Started bidding through PRICELINE link of course.
  16. I had forgotten about IKEA - that would've been a fun morning. They actually had breakfast there at the hotel but we didn't try it. It really wasn't a bad stay despite the reviews. The beds were the worst part but that's only b/c they were those stupid glorified air mattresses (Sleep Comfort or Select Comfort or whatever the heck). If you were sleeping alone, it would be tolerable but they aren't dual controlled so DH almost knocked me out of the bed when he'd get in. Pool was good, place was clean, TV was fine, staff friendly. Free shuttle to anywhere w/in 3 miles and full service business center was a nice touch. In short, I would not be afraid to stay here again.
  17. I honestly don't know what it is about me but I swear the last 3 times I've bid on Priceline I end up with a "new" hotel to add. This time I got the Best Western Plus Schaumburg Hotel for $54/night. Previously the Park Inn? Started at 3.5* at $37 in Oak Brook & went up to $45 adding Elmhurst, Saint Charles, etc. Then went down to 3 star added Willowbrook & Arlington Hts & upped my bid in $5 increments until I finally hit at $54 after adding Schaumburg ($50 was rejected in all those areas for a 3* hotel). Reviews are bi-polar so I get to be the guinea pig (again) - will report back. Used the PRICELINE link here, of course.
  18. I'm pretty sure I know why reviews are mixed at this place. I get this hotel often when staying in the area and the first time I checked in, I sent DH and he came back with room keys in hand. I went past the desk to ask about something and it came up that I was a Priority Club member and he said oh, let me change that and gave me keys to a different room. Now, every time I check in I make sure to give them my rewards # and always have a pleasant stay. Their hot tub is broke - something about leaking underneath but they can't get permission from the city to dig underneath the building to fix it so now they are doing something else - can't remember what but I think building a new pool area or at least a new hot tub.
  19. Used the PRICELINE link to start of course. Tried a 3.5 star in Oakbrook for $42 and was rejected. Added Naperville and increased my bid to $46 since we needed it same day and was accepted. We've gotten this hotel several times for around the same price & it's a nice place so I was happy.
  20. Yup, I read that before but glad you mentioned it for those who may read this later and didn't. What's weird-ish is that Hotwire lists this hotel as in the Sea Word area and it's really not. Maybe it's so they can include lots of different star choices, IDK. I *think* this one might be the Vistana? but def. not the great rates we've seen in the past from them if it is: Ref No. 6049642643 $127 per room per night SeaWorld - I-drive South area condo Recommended in 85 % of Hotwire customers Amenities: Resort Free Parking 1 Bedroom Suite Smoke Free Air Conditioning Washer and Dryer in Room Children's Activity Center Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center 24-hour Front Desk Laundry High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Kitchenette Condo
  21. We did a timeshare exchange for a week at the Vistana and since we are actually staying 11 days, I needed an "extension" of sorts. There are 6 people in my traveling party (3 adults, 3 kids) and th week we already have booked is the 3-10 of June. Looking for the 10-14th. Thanks theruare! (and I always start my searching through the links here.) ;)
  22. Yup, you're right - the $69/night one was only 3 stars. So probably none of these are Vistana huh? :( I'll keep you updated - maybe we could just switch rooms but I'd hate to do that. However, I'd hate to pay retail even more. lol  Thanks!
  23. I swear I won't post again (tonight) but 2 things. #1, do you think THIS could be the Vistana? It's driving me crazy and #2, did y'all ever notice the reference number on each property listing that only appears when you highlight the listing (like when you are copying & pasting)? Super savings† $118 other sites* $69 per room per night Only07rooms left! Recommended in 80 % of Hotwire customer reviews Amenities: Resort, Free Parking, 1 Bedroom Suite, Fully-equipped Kitchen, Air-Conditioning (this is a perk??), Children's Activity Program (why I think this is Vistana), Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, Front Desk, 24 hr Front Desk, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access, Tennis nearby, Condo
  24. Adding to the confusion is this other result which may have replaced the previous result??: 4* Lake Buena Vista - Downtown Disney area condo $155 $93 Resort, Free Parking, Free Internet, 2 Bedroom Suite, Fully-equipped Kitchen, Washer and Dryer in Room, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), 24-hour Front Desk, High-Speed Internet Access, Spa Services, Condo
