  1. At this point, I would like to try for a 3- nite/4- nite (or 4- nite/3- nite) split for 3.5* at $250 max, same zones. Please advise. I'll start all bids on the PRICELINE link on this board. Thanks again.
  2. Thanks for the impressive set of bids. I managed to get thru the complete set with no problems, but alas, no acceptance. No counter offers either. I did start all bids thru the Board PRICELINE link. So, I'm open to any new ideas; split stay ? Appreciate your help.
  3. Many thanks for pointing out the Hudson H.; no, those v.small rooms would not be acceptable. We like the MTE and will work around any subway distance issue. We'll include the MSQ . So our 7 3.5* zones are Chel, ESB, HK, MSQ MTE, MTW, and TSQ. Thanks again for your pointers above and, in advance, for your strategy. We'll start our bids on the board PRICELINE link.
  4. Right; we have NOT done any 3.5* bidding yet. So we're up for 3.5* bidding now for the complete stay up to $250. To confirm the 4 re-bid zones for the 3.5* bidding; Coney, LIC, QbB, UES. Thanks, and we'll start all bids thru the board PRICELINE link.
  5. Appreciate your guidance and I agree with your variables. So, would like our 2nd-round bidding for the following: 1st 3-nites (19 thru 21 Sep) for a 3.5* with top of $250. Will start all bids thru the PRICELINE link on the board. Thanks
  6. I did check all the re-bid zones and went thru the bid list as you laid out on 4 July; 28 bids in all (total of about 75-min. time). For all the starts, I used the PRICELINE link on the board. All went well but I did not get an acceptance. No counter-offers either. So I'm open to my next move as you might suggest. Thanks again for your great help
  7. Re; the "Re-bid" zones. Re-Bid zones are the areas that DO NOT have the 4* hotels. I messed up with my previous reply. So the 5 (current) re-bid zones are; ConeyIs, LI City, MSG, Queensb, and UES. I hope I got that right. Also, I guess I should be prepared for counteroffers? Has that been happening lately for 4* in NYC ? Many thanks for your help.
  8. I would like to confirm the re-bid zones as: Brklyn, ConeyI, LI City, MSG, and Queensb. Also, I assume that I would start with all 7-nights ? Thanks.
  9. It's been a while since I have used this great resource for PL bidding and certainly appreciate this service.. So I'm comfortable with the process but would like current help/advice for our 7-nite stay in Sept (19 in and checkout on 26); 1 room for 2 senior adults. We're looking for 4* room in any one of 8 areas; CPS, Chelsea, ESB, HK, MSG, MTE, MTW, and TSQ. Our top price is $250. We're OK with splitting stay with 2 hotels; 3 and 4 nites (or 4/3 or ?/?) in different hotels. We haven't yet got a backup plan. Haven't found any acceptable hotels with rates below $400. A lot of hotels reply "not avail." for some of our dates Question; is it too early to start bidding ? Would appreciate any/all ideas on this, and a bidding plan. Will start any PL bidding thru this website.
  10. This is a late posting (after our trip). Started bidding (thru the PRICELINE link at BetterBidding) on 6 Aug. for 4* for either USE or USW for 2 night stay. Started bidding at $85 and added $5 increments for 4 additional zones (w/no 4*). Rejected for the 5 bids. Restarted same day at $111 and was accepted at $116 for the St. Francis on 2nd bid. I was surprised that we had to go this high in our bidding price but still less than HOTWIRE. Having stayed before, we knew that the St.Francis books PL customers only in the Traditional section which has smaller and older rooms. We opted, at check-in, for an upgrade to the Tower section for $20/night extra. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks again to BetterBidding for this Traveler support.
  11. After reviewing many of the recent helpful results here, I started bidding for 4* at $66 and was accepted on 3rd bid. There are 12 zones, with less than 4*, available for re-bids. I went thru Betterbidding to PRICELINE. Thanks for this help.
  12. Started bidding at $64 and rejected; waited 24 hrs and got accepted with 2nd bid of $69.
  13. Started bidding at $58 and used 2 zones (NW & N.Harbor). Got accepted on 4th bid at $71.
  14. Got this 3* Red Lion (the only 3* in Medford) on my first bid at $51.
  15. Started bidding for 3* at $50. Rejected and increased bids twice, $5 increments by using Manteca and Lathrop (2.5* max). $60 accepted. Thanks for the forum help.
  16. Using the useful info on this forum, I bid for this stay and got this on my 1st try. We'll have a car and I like the free parking as well. I did start by going thru the Betterbidding PRICELINE link. Thanks again for this forum help.
  17. I think title still messed up with the date; not 2008 but 2009?
  18. We had a good stay at the St.Francis, which is in a great location on Union Sq. And the Wx was perfect. Hotel gave us a standard room in the "Historic" (old) section; still very nice. The main hotel rooms are in the "new" Tower. Our room was quite small, with queen bed, but newly renovated. The amenities were sparse (no shower cap or robes) but staff provided all on request. Recommended.
  19. Many thanks to this forum and specific suggestions from AaronJB. I started at $70 and went up in $5 steps to get this 4* in USE at $90 (last step). I went thru this forum Link to PL.
  20. We're planning a 2-night stay ,Jan. 17 and Jan.18 (checkout Jan. 19) and would like a bidding strategy for 4*. Max of $90. Will go thru Betterbidding Link. Thanks.
  21. We returned home from our comfortable 3-nite stay at the Tudor Hotel. We were pleased with the hotel, its accomodations and service, and the location . We recommend this hotel as a 3.5*.
  22. You're right about that. I did bid all 5 midtown zones, as you laid out for another request. We do have the Beekman reserved at $285/night. Thanks again
  23. I used the current "4- re-bid" scheme to try and get 2 rooms for the 3 nites in midtown/UM but nothing worked. My max bid was $285 for the 4 prime zones plus 4 re-bids. Just to report no success . Thanks for the help anyway.
  24. Just saw this on HOTWIRE and bought it for 2 rooms. Amenities shown; Fitness, Restaurant, Bisness center, hi-speed internet.
  25. Yes, it is the Beekman. Sorry about that. Appreciate any ideas you have for bidding or ?
