  1. Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Asked politely and was upgraded to a lake-view room. Furniture has been upgraded since my previous stay there when it was a Wyndham. They put a bill under our door and it showed that Hotwire paid them $55.00 for the room with taxes of about $6.00 so all in all Hotwire made about $17.00. Downtown Burlington was beautifully decorated for the holidays and we enjoyed that it was all in walking distance. Hotel charges $8.00 for parking but we did not pay as all city parking was free for the holidays so we parked next door. Did not pay the $10 fee for internet use.
  2. One night December 6th for $65.00 plus tax of $13.75 for a total of $78.75 The icons were: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business This was the Wyndham in downtown Burlington. I have not stayed here since the change. I was actually a bit disappointed as I was hoping for the Sheraton. I know the Icon for Golf was missing but I thought being Dec. maybe they had just taken it off. I'm sure it will be fine and maybe if I smile enough we will get a room with a view of the Lake.
  3. You won't have anything else to pay when you check out unless you charge stuff to your room. You can call the hotel and make a request regarding bedding but there is no guarantee you will get it. Or, you can wait till check in and request it then but I have had very good luck when phoning. Congratulations on your win! Welcome to the boards, you will learn a lot but next time book through the HOTWIRE link.
  4. I got the Hyatt Place on HOTWIRE for a one night stay Nov. 6th 08. This was based on other posts on this board who had clearly pegged this hotel. $73.00 plus tax and service for a total of $86.00 Thank-you to those who have posted their wins Icons: Airport Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool, Business Center, Internet Access I had noticed that someone else got it for $69.00 but I was o.k. with $73.00 still a good deal. I also noticed that others had scored it for $61.00 on PRICELINE. I thought of doing that but then decided if I got something else instead it would cost more than $12.00 for a cab and breakfast so being 100% sure of these things using hotwire it was worth it to me. Reviews seemed fine and best price on Hyatt.com was pre-paid at $132.00 so a good saving. Used your HOTWIRE link as suggested.
  5. Thanks, It was the Intercontinental. Got it for $166.00 per night X 3 plus tax for a total of $616.00 Tried to use your link but had much difficulty with "verified by visa" got bumped out, timed out so I am not sure if in the end I was using your link or not. Hope it works. I know it is months ahead but I really wanted this hotel and can't imagine it getting much cheaper for New Year's Eve.
  6. I would appreciate your opinion to pin a 4* hotel in San Juan. Customer Favorite. Dec 31st till Jan 3rd. $169.00 per night plus tx and service for a total of $625.03 for the 3 nights. Icons are : Resort Beachfront Casino Restaurant Laundry Tennis Pool(s) Business Centre High Speed Internet Spa I have checked the Vacation packages so I believe this is the Intercontinental but could it also be the El San Juan? Yes, I know it is early but being New Years Eve I think things will only get more expensive. Air tickets are already purchased so why not?
  7. Was so happy with my previous win (see post for March 8th) decided to try for a pre-cruise night (knowing what I had already booked, I could cancel). 1st bid - $78.00 +16.96 tx and service = $94.96 Wow..... As a frequent Marriott rewards traveller I might even get a really nice room. Used Savings barn link.
  8. Thanks to other posters on this board and other travel sites! Saturday March 8th - 1 night Courtyard Marriot Fort Lauderdale Beach $96.00 +$19.33 = $115.33 Best on Marriot site $329.00 1. first bid $76.00 refused 2. second, used free re-bid FLL airport NORTH $86.00 -refused 3. third, after 24 hour wait, $96.00 -accepted Used savingsbarn to help support this site. I usually go up only $5.00 per re-bid but with only one free re-bid zone I decided to use $10.00. Many others have paid less but not for a one night -Saturday night stay. Again, Thanks!
  9. Thanks to previous posters for identifying his hotel :) Amenities listed on the 2nd page, Resort, Casino,Pool, Business Centre, Golf Nearby, Spa Services, Oceanfront, Restaurant, Laundry Services, Tennis Nearby and Fitness Centre. Reviews appear to be mixed but I am sure that at this price we will be happy. We plan on renting a car but will do that closer to the departure time, it should help us with the expensive meals people have commented on. I am very excited about going to the beach by boat. Sounds fun. Use the HOTWIRE link on this site to book. Again, thanks for the great info and a super web-site.
  10. Thank you very much for your post. We have been considering this for our summer holidays in August. I was pretty sure of the hotel but your post just confirms what I was thinking. (Yes, I know nothing is ever sure) Have to wait though for my husband to have his vacation dates confirmed.
  11. I got the Times Square Hilton for $123.00. I started at $115.00 then upped my bid by adding Central park and then Mid-town south. I was very happy to get this hotel. The reviews sound great and it seems they don't treat price-line customers any differently than those paying full price.
  12. Hi, This should answer the previous poster's question. $64.oo for the Sheraton, arrival Oct. 29th for one night. Icons, Pool, Fitness, Restaurant, Near golf and Business center. I have stayed here before, a long time ago and was very pleased. The only thing I don't like is the pool area. It is sort of a glassed in area just off the lobby so you feel like everybody walking by is watching you in your bathing suit. I remember that the restaurant was wonderful. Monica
  13. Hotel amenities: Restaurant, Pool, Spa, fitness centre, childrens program, business centre The childrens program is unique in Montreal I believe and so easily identifies this hotel 1 night Friday Dec. 17th to attend a Christmas party, rate $47.00 tax and fees included $62.?? I have stayed here before and am very happy with rate. Cheapest rate on Delta web site is $123.oo CAD (about $97.00 USD) PS This is the Delta Montreal on President Kennedy -not the Centre Ville Delta
  14. Better late than never, A good friend of mine booked this for a 2 night stay on Oct. 27-29 and it was the Country Inn and Suites. I know she was happy with her stay there. She won't post and I don't know how much she paid but I do know that she was hoping for the Residence and did not get it. In the end she said this was just as nice. Monica
  15. Hi , First Bid $50.00 for 3* at FLL airport. Very happy to get the Sheraton for this date and rate. I will be arriving very late so airport hotel is fine. (has shuttle) Still looking to find something at the beach for the next night 26th of Feb. could be at FLL or Miami but within walking distance to the beach(or beachfront). By staying cheap at the airport on first night I could spend a little more for this night. Failed bids to $91 for FLL. Still curious for 2.5* on hotwire at Miami beach. Monica
  16. I have 3 computers in the house. All running on explorer. The i-book seems to deliver lower prices than the others even when done at the same time (I have multiple user highspeed). Sometimes it is a $1 or $2 but today the i-book is $7.00 cheaper for the same thing. My problem is the i-book is work issued and we are not allowed to do internet purchases (part of an agreement). So, I must use my PC. I was looking for 1 night, 10 oct. Burlington Vt. 3* PC is $72 i-book $65 Any ideas? Why and what to do? monica
  17. I also was once scolded for not using "the link" although it was done in a polite way. My problem with TOBB is I believe they discourage use of Hotwire when in many cases it is the better option. When I choose to use Hotwire it is because I want to be sure the property has a pool or another feature. I also used it in Hawaii when I wanted to be sure I had an oceanfront hotel. Yes, I might have paid more than priceline, but being sure of oceanfront was well worth it to me. Of course I still paid way less than regular rates. I have also recently noticed that Hotwire now allows you to include children. This is a big plus for me as I often bring them along. (Not that I have ever had problems but have read the PL rules) This is a great web-site. Keep up the good work. I will do whatever I can to help including using your link for my next bid. M.
  18. I would like to know if anybody has figured out possible 2.5* hotels for miami beach. The icons are: beachfront, restaurant, pool, fitness, spa and tennis. My dates are 25 feb- 2 nights and the price showing varies but is always mid 70's. Thanks for any help. Monica
  19. Sorry about that. You are right the icons are Resort, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, and Children's program. I had just looked at the hotel web-site. They offer spa services even if the icon is not shown on the hotwire site. M.
  20. Used Hotwire rather than Priceline because I wanted to be sure on the swimming pool. Icons, Resort, pool, restaurant, fitness and children's program. 1 room for 2 nights in Stowe at the Golden Eagle Resort for $63.00 per night. After looking at their web-site I see they have many room types, some look very ordinary for a 3*. Hope it works out as it is an aniversary weekend. M.
