  2. I apologize, you are so right. I know, "I forgot" is such a lame excuse, but it's all I've got. I've finished up on the Chicago and Palo Alto threads, but I haven't been to Seattle in years, and I definitely didn't post that thread, I can only guess that I was signed on and someone used my computer at work while I wasn't around to post that thread. Again, sorry to all.
  3. I gave up with both priceline and hotwire and ended up booking directly with the crowne plaza which I knew was a decent hotel, although more money than I wanted to spend. I was afraid of some of the three * option possibilities in that area.
  4. It was for a two night stay. I knew it would be either the Palmer House or the Hilton based on the location. These were the only two four stars in the downtown location.
  5. Want to visit my daughter in new york the weekend of Nov 11-14th, but having a terrible time finding accommodations. The best hotwire is showing right now (and for the last two weeks) is $300 for what I think (after checking this site) is the Grand Hyatt. (Customer fav, Restaurant, fittness, tennis nearby). Wondering if I should keep waiting, or is this as good as it's going to get. Have tried other sites, and nothing reasonable is coming up. I was hoping to find something around two hundred. Am I being unreasonable? Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
  6. Trying to identify a 2* in Seattle, Space Needle district....Ammenities include complimentary breakfast and pool. Appreciate any help....we leave on the 17th.....HELP.
  7. After trying both Priceline and Hotwire for weeks trying to snag a downtown or michigan avenue 4* with no success (I bid up to $125 on priceline and was rejected) I suddenly lucked into 4* for $87 on HOtwire which turned out to be the Palmer House. The wedding I am attending the weekend of 10/16 happens to be in the hotel! The strange thing is that I had called Hilton Hotels and the Palmer House directly several times to inquire about rates and they were all sold out for my weekend. How strange, if anyone has an explanation I'd love to hear it.
  8. We need to book rooms for a wedding in Palo Alto in November. I know the Hyatt Ricky (3*) has been available for $37-50 according to this board, and the wedding has reserved rooms there for $79, but I've stayed there previously and it really is a dump. I would prefer paying a little more for to get the Westin or Sheraton (4*). I bid $60 for a 4* and was denied. I've been reading this board about "free rebids" and would appreciate help in navigating. My goal is either a 4* at $79 or (preferrably) less, and if not that, I would like to get the Hyatt Ricky for a lot less than the $79 offered by the hotel. Thanks for any help. I've only used Priceline once (Boston) and now I'm hooked.
