  1. Sweet. I used slightly different amounts (I started before I saw the post) and wound up with the Hilton Times Square for $156. $556 total for 3 nights. Thanks a ton for all your help. I keep forgetting to use the link but I bookmarked it now so I don't forget next time! Thanks!
  2. On the very first $140 w MTE+MTW, they gave me, "If you are willing to raise your price by $22 right now, you can try again." Is that worth it? Does that mean a definite win at that price? Or should I still go up in increments (maybe of $11?) with the rebid zones?
  3. MTW (added UE, UW) - $115, $125, $135 MTE (same) - $121, $131, $141 UM/CPS (same) - $135, $145, $150 Haven't done anything today. Thanks. (We need a smiley who's burning money and crying.) :)
  4. I considered it, but as is the case with downtown, our main activity is on Randall's Island both Sat and Sun in the afternoon-nights, so it would probably hinder our ability to do everything we want (probably something in midtown in the morning/early afternoon).
  5. I made those earlier today. Since then I've also done UM/CPS with the rebids up to $150. I can have the person i'm taveling with bid if we want to start over. I suppose the max right now is $175 but we need a room, so... Guess I was fooled by that $81 I got for the Marriott Marquis back in December or I'd have done this a couple weeks ago when Hotwire was at $150. :)
  6. What's the reasoning behind closing the browser before you start with a new zone?
  7. I'm looking for this weekend - 7/29-8/1. 3 nights. 4 stars. So far I've bid (Priceline): MTW (added UE, UW) - $115, $125, $135 MTE (same) - $121, $131, $141 All rejected so far. Any idea where a Midtown 4 star will really wind up at this point? Hotwire is currently at $210. I'd rather not go Downtown unless it saves at least $20/night. By the way, is there a formula to the Priceline and Hotwire fees? Priceline totals seem pretty high compared to the nightly rate (almost 20% tacked on). What are the actual taxes for Manhattan hotels? Thanks.
  8. Can anyone identify a 4 star on Hotwire in Quincy Market-Financial District with Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-speed, Business Ctr? Thanks.
  9. So looking at Hotwire and other prices for this weekend, I opened my bidding for tonight (one night) at $135 for a 4* in Midtown West. And it was accepted. I will be thinking about the $20 or $30 or more I just flushed away for the rest of my life!
  10. tried tons of prices with various zone combos (in order to only get downtown) from $85 up...finally got $105. total is $127
  11. 3 bids over the last week and a half - $78 (rejected), $89 (rejected), $101 (accepted). Total cost for 2 nights is ~$240.
