Reviews of this hotel painted a scary picture, but fears were unfounded. Needed maintenance issues are being addressed by crews of workers, room was clean and comfortable, and service was GREAT. Pool is closed for a complete overhaul in progress. Breakfast was more than adequate in terms of both quality and quantity. Fortress-like fencing should quell any safety concerns expressed in other reviews. Nearby path along the river allows for a 1-mile walk to old town, or a "next exit" freeway drive.
Room 511, Fifth floor with pool view. We were given the option of 10th floor mountain view, but would have had to wait until later for room to be ready. We were very happy with pool view, and there was no noise issue. We enjoyed the room and the hotel very much. Very spacious and upscale bathroom. Online rate for similar room is $120. Be aware of $15 resort fee payable upon arrival.

Very plain but clean lodgings, good for a crash pad on a casual or rushed road trip. The neighborhood is being renewed, with lower-end chain motels such as Motel 6 and Days Inn going in. Don't let the scary images at Google Maps scare you away. Amenities listed: Breakfast. Breakfast was minimal, but good for a quick morning start: Muffins, cold cereal, coffee, and orange and apple juices.
