  1. Got the Hyatt for a mid-week get-away and used your Priceline link, of course. :)
  2. Just got the Hyatt Place for a 1-night stay at $69 (including fees and taxes = $82.93). Icons: Airport Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool, Business Center, Internet Access This price ($69/night) was previously only showing up for stays of 2+ nights, but it suddenly came down for the one night and I jumped on it! I stayed here before when it was still Amerisuites. I'm looking forward to seeing the Hyatt renos. :)
  3. Started bidding at $50. Used 2 free re-bids and hit at $60. This was the hotel and bid we were aiming for -- so very happy. :)
  4. Numerous failed bids for these dates at the 4* level, but didn't want to go higher than $75. Finally switched to 3* bid and when I got the Priceline counter offer, knew I was close. Ignored the counter and got it for $57. As ever, used SavingsBarn. Thanks for this friendly and useful site.
  5. Just finished a 2 night stay at the Pinnacle. This is the second time we've won this hotel on Priceline and were just as happy as the first time. It was the weekend before Valentine's Day, so it seemed there were quite a few local couples staying at the hotel for a romantic getaway. On check-in we were offered a harbour-view room for an additional $30 which we declined. Clerk asked if we wanted a room with 2 queens or 1 king. We opted for the 1 king and were given one of the prized xx19 rooms. For those of you unfamiliar with them; they are rooms ending in digits -19 on floors 5-16 and have wonderful wrap-around windows with a nice peek-a-boo view of the water. We were extremely pleased and will ask for this again next time we stay. Room was immaculate, staff as friendly and helpful as last time. The only downside is that parking has been increased to $23 Cdn/day. The hotel is a bit further from the shopping areas of Robson & Georgia than the Hyatt, but well within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. The Pinnacle is a terrific Priceline hotel and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
  6. Won this bid for the Pinnacle at $50 for a 2 night stay. Started bidding at $45 and was given a counter offer for $13 more. Ignored it and used free bids at $47, $49 and finally accepted at $50. DH is attending a weekend conference downtown, so thought it would be nice to have a mini-holiday at the same time. We've stayed at this hotel before and were very happy with it. :)
  7. Just returned and wanted to let you know we had a great stay. I managed to take a few pictures of our room and the view from our window. I've uploaded them to your RealHotelPhotos.com site for anyone interested. Thanks, again for your help. ell
  8. Tried FW 3* again at $80 and $85 - rejected. So switched to USE-Embarcadero. Got USE-Embarcadero 4* Hyatt Regency for $68!! :) Bidding strategy: Started at $60 - rejected USE + re-bid zone at $62 - got countered with $17; offered $67 & rejected USE + another re-bid zone at $65; got countered again with $17; offered $70 & rejected Added additonal zone and bid $68 - Accepted. Very happy with this! Thanks for all your help. ell ps Used SavingsBarn for my bid.
  9. Thanks for your responses. At this point we'd be willing to go to $85 for 3* FW. So will bid again after the 72hr lockout. Should I try $80, then $85 or go straight to $85? (Sheraton and Tuscan Inn are still showing availability at $189.) If this fails, we will bid USE 4*.
  10. Finally registered after seeing your site recommended elsewhere and lurking for awhile. What a breath of fresh air after being on TOBB. I've used Priceline successfully for my last 3 hotel stays, but I'm having trouble this time. Here's my dilemma: I've been bidding FW for Sep 25 (Saturday) the last couple of weeks bidding every 72 hours with no luck. Started at $60 & 65, then $65 & 70, and lastly at $70 & 75. I thought for sure the last bid of $75 would do it as the prices for FW Sheraton, Hyatt & Tuscan Inn were running around $169 to $189 for that date on their websites. Today, I checked again to see that both the Hyatt FW and Mariott FW are sold out for the 25th. So my am I running into an inventory problem or a Saturday check-in problem? Any suggestions? (My DH wants to be in FW area, but as a last resort would be willing to go 4* USE.) ell
