We were going to book direct with the hotel and pay $120 per night (and get points). After getting the win, I went back into Hotwire and the price for it is now $106. Amenities are: Free breakfast Free parking Free Internet Pet friendly Airport shuttle Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Business center Internet access Next will be looking for a vehicle. Thinking van since I want to play golf and I would have to bring my clubs. I did use the Hotwire link for searches and purchase.
  6. First off I would like to thank you very much for posting this. I am looking for a hotel in Tampa and saw All Suites. I actually wanted Hyatt Place since we love the chain (family of 5).
  7. Need a room for Friday night. Figure it was this one and we have had it in the past. The place is close to everywhere I need to be on Saturday and close to the casino for some poker action on Friday night.

  9. Been looking quite a bit and finally bit the bullet and took the Hotwire 4* at $82 for 2 nights. Was thinking it was Tropicana but it was not. It was the Monte Carlo. Was not happy with it since I believe it is a 3.5 star at best. The hotel was surprisingly okay. I was happy that the parking is not bad since most hotels you walk quite a bit to get to the hotel. The casino was okay and not was crowded as other hotels. It is right on the strip but kind of covered since there is a store in front of it. I would definitely go back since the room was a no frills okay room. Did use the HOTWIRE link for searches and booking.
  10. Been looking for a Vegas hotel for sometime and the time is now to book something. Coming in Sep 26 - 29. Been looking around and really want the MGM but would take the MGM Signatures. Saw on Hotwire that you can get 4.5* East of Strip for $177 Canadian plus resort fee. Amenities are : free parking free internet resort suite casino smoke free rooms pool restaurant business center Hot.wire states that the last one booked was MGM Signatures. Just wanted your thoughts on this. I did use the HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links when I did my searches.
  11. I am also looking for a hotel for Sep 26-29. I really want the MGM and saw the Planet Hollywood reference. I may bite the bullet and just pay for the MGM. I did use the HOTWIRE links for my searches.
  12. Going to Orlando next week and had the plane booked for the last 2 weeks. Looking for decent place to stay and pretty sure it was Hyatt Place from the searches here and the amentities listed on PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals. Bid with the 5% discount and got: Hyatt Place Orlando Convention Center Sea World - Intl. Drive - Convention Center 8741 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819 Very happy with the hotel and we love the Hyatt Place. Always used the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links for my searches as usual.
  13. Decided to hit Detroit for some shopping action on the Canadian long weekend. Saw the bidding changed and wanted to get a 3 star in Auburn Hills. So went in high at $50 and got: Courtyard By Marriott Pontiac Auburn Hills - Pontiac 3555 Centerpoint Parkway Pontiac, MI 48341 I did use the PRICELINE link.
  14. Just to update on the hotel. Renovations have been completed and WOW. Very nice place to stay. If I ever head back to Auburn Hills, I really hope I get this hotel.
  15. Saw a couple of posters show that they have the Residence Inn in Auburn Hills so I gave it a shot. First bid $40 and they offer a rebid for $47. I declined and added Utica for $43. I got: Courtyard by Marriott Detroit Auburn Hills 2550 Aimee Lane, Auburn Hills, MI 48326 Not quite what I was looking for and never have been to this Courtyard before. It is under going renovations in Feb/13 as per Tripadvisor. Now have to look for breakfast. I did use the PRICELINE link.
  16. Need to get a room for a couple of nights in Buffalo. Saw on Hotwire that the Marriott was going for $76 per night. On the first bid of $50 I was offer a free rebid at $68. I decline and started adding zones at $5 increments. Winning bid was $60 which is an unbelievable price. On the website the rooms are going for $125. The hotel is: Buffalo - Amherst 1340 Millersport Hwy Buffalo, New York 14221 We have stayed there many times and the hotel is great especially after the renovations. I did use the PRICELINE link.
  17. Went in low for $40 on the first bid. Offer a free rebid for $52 and did not really wanted to do it but the wife was bugging me since she just wanted to book the room. Told her it was Courtyard and she said she is fine with that hotel. So we took the free rebid and got: Courtyard Marriott - Auburn Hills-Pontiac Auburn Hills - Pontiac 3555 Centerpoint Parkway Pontiac, Michigan 48341 I did use the PRICELINE link.
  18. We stayed at the Trump for a total of 6 nights in May. I tried the $20 and got a 1 bedroom corner suite. The room was huge.
  19. Been bidding at least 5x the past week. I know it sounds strange but I wanted the Trump due to it being non smoking and no casino on the strip. Bid up to $100 by adding zones and stopped due to knowing that it was showing on Hotwire for $102 per night. So one night I did not get the bid at $100, I thought what the heck and bid $102 and got: Trump International Hotel, Las Vegas 2000 Fashion Show Drive Las Vegas, NV 89109 I did use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links when I did my research and bidding.
  20. Decided to make a stop on the way home Sunday night. So I started bidding hoping to get a room by increments of $5. The top bid was $50. I started bidding and adding zones. I got for $50: Four Points By Sheraton Pittsburgh North Cranberry Township 910 Sheraton Drive Mars, Pennsylvania 16046 The hotel does need some work since it is very dated but for the price I am definitely not complaining. Saw a sign stating that they are doing a renovation on the whole hotel. I did use the PRICELINE link.
  21. Yes when I do a check on hotels without naming a price on PL, it is listed as a 3 star along with the others such as Adams Mark (place is a dump and dated), Hotel Indigo (smell of vinegar is not what I want to smell), the downtown ones, Millennium, etc. I hear you on the Marriott, the only hotel I will want to stay in Buffalo. I use it all the time myself. Hope to see if others post wins at this hotel. The Holiday Inn is a big step downwards in regards to the Marriott.
  22. It looks like on PL that Marriott in Amherst was dropped to a 3 star. Hopefully some members get the Marriott when bidding and post their success here.
  23. I do remember your posts on your visits to Auburn Hills, etc, and I used your posts for my bids. My report on Radisson - Bloomfield Hills: Yes it is pretty worn and tired. It is kind of clean but I do see the stains on the carpets and walls. The washroom had hair on the tub. The front attendant really stunked one night. It was unbearable and not sure what it was. He also made a mistake on the room card and only put down 1 night. So we were locked out. I did request a room change on the 1st night and was denied. He stated that they were sold out. That is fine if they were sold out but the parking lot was maybe was 10-15% full. Would I go back to Radisson? No. I rather go to Courtyard in Auburn Hills or pay the extra and stay in Hyatt Place (Auburn Hills/Utica). We are going back for Black Friday and will be booking 4-5 rooms.
  24. I have been trying to get Auburn Hills for a few days. Usually got a 3* for $35 everytime. Been bidding up to $50 per night by adding zones and always got rejected. This time I added Bloomfield Hills and raised the bid to $52 and got: Radisson Hotel Detroit-Bloomfield Hills 39475 Woodward Avenue, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48304 I have never been there so hopefully everything is good. I did use the PRICELINE link for my purchase and all of my past bidding.
  25. I know the $20 trick works in Vegas so I thought I would try it at another hotel. Mention to the clerk if we can possibly get a room with a Manhattan view on a high floor (without tipping). He ran off and then came back 3 mins latter to say yes he can do it. I then slipped him $20 to thank him. He was extremely happy and that $20 was gone in a flash. We got a corner unit on a high floor with no obstructive of Manhattan.
