  1. Unreal... got banned after posting wins.. I guess what comes around... very few posts over there anymore anyway. I am a hotel manager with over 25 years experience and have used priceline since day 1 from the hotel side and user side.. I guess that has little value in their silly little banning world.
  2. Priceline makes the most money with the folks that accept counteroffers. Even people I have trained in rebidding always call and ask should I take the offer? Hotels enter NET rates into various opaque websites (rates not visible to the public) The hotel chain may have one rate code that goes to a few or many opaque sites. The hotel can also set minimum stay limits, close out days for arrival, and maximum number of rooms to sell at the net rate. Hotels use opaque websites to fill empty rooms at lower rates without compromising current business, groups, and prearranged corporate rates. You can benefit most from priceline since the rate the hotel enters is the rate you pay (plus service fees and difference between the hotel rate and priceline bid) Other websites (Orbitz, Travelocity etc) charge hotels up to 25% of the rate in fees and hotels are required to have rate parity (the same rate on all sites)
  3. Priceline needs to define "condo" like hotwire does. Bottom line unhappy people will not return to using priceline so it is costing them money. I have a workaround if your interested next time. You can bid 5* low like $60 (make sure trump hasn't been going for the 60's) and see if you get a counteroffer in the 70's or so then you know it's the trump. if not you can bid 4* 60-70 with not too much fear of the upgrade. I have never been stuck with an unwanted priceline reservation either... talent when on the phone to customer service is critical
  4. March 12-16 this hotel comes up $29.00 ... ya I know it's probably junk but booking for a travel softball team off strip... Casino * Pool * Restaurant * Laundry Couldn't find a win for this anywhere and unable to identify through hotwire vacations thanks... Daniel
