  1. 4 1/2* San Francisco Financial District Business Center, Restaurant, Pet Friendly, Internet access, Fitness Center. I assumed I would get the Omni because it was 4.5* and mentioned Pet Friendly. It looks nice! I hope we enjoy it. Thanks better bidding.
  2. I followed your advice and strategy but I started at $85 and went to $95 and was rejected. It was nice to be able to add St. John as they only have Resorts and get a free rebid. I rebid today at $98 and $106 and was accepted at the $106 a night. July 4-11 at $106 a night. Taxes and fees= $83.97 = Grand Total $825.97 I am really excited to stay at this hotel. It looks beautiful. Does anyone have any suggestions for what to do in St. Thomas? As always I used your PRICELINE link! Thanks for being a wonderful resource.
  3. I won the Marriott Frenchman's Reef 3 1/2* upscale plus. $106 a night July 4-11th. I would do a new post for this. I believe this is what you would like.
  4. I am ready to bid on this but have changed my dates to July 4-11th. Does your strategy or pricing change for these dates? I originally thought it would be harder to get for the 4th of July but the flights and such are better so I am hoping they will more susceptible to taking my bid.
  5. I guess it depends on what would be cheaper but they are about the same. I like St. Thomas because I can fly direct into there as with St. John I have to take a ferry or small plane, I believe. So..I guess St. Thomas is my first choice.
  6. I would like the highest possible star level which is currently 3 1/2 * upscale plus. I am hoping to bid no higher than $125 a night but can go higher if this is not realistic. I would also consider St. John. The only option that comes up is "Resorts" so I would assume it is the Westin which so many have gotten there. Do you know of any other Resorts that are booked on that island?
  7. I am trying to bid on Priceline for St. Thomas for a 3 1/2 * upscale plus. I am looking at June 20-27th. I have seen the Marriott Frenchman's reef come through as a 3 1/2* as well as a 4* and I am confused by that. I would love that resort but I am wondering if any other resorts are coming through as 3 1/2 * on that island. I would like to not spend over $125 a night. I am hoping this is realistic. Could you give me some help on a bidding strategy and also guess for me what hotel this would be by chance? Also, is there any way to guarantee air conditioning on priceline?
  8. Got it! 3* (Disneyland North) Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Anaheim $49 a night February 10-12 Amenities: Fitness Center Pool Business center High speed internet
  9. I am happy with the Holiday Inn Express so I kept it. I went with the 50% of your stay HotDollars and they were great to credit them immediately and very good to work with on the phone. I couldn't be happier. I can even book the HotDollars in someone elses name if I want and they last 1 year.
  10. Thank you for your help. I agree it wouldn't make sense to book Hotwire if you can get the 3.5* on priceline for the same price but I have a credit on hotwire because they showed laundry facilities on my reservation and they do not have it at my hotel that I would like to use. I am very seriously looking at the $49 3* Disneyland North. It doesn't look like there is much info. out there to help me guess the hotel. If it is the Holiday Inn and Suites would it show "suite" under amenities because it does not.
  11. Thank you for the bidding strategy. Can you help me determine the 3* hotwire listed above? I am guessing Peakcock Suites because that is the only 3* hotwire I can find in the thread and it matches the hotel pretty well but I would appreciate your guess.
  12. I just received an email from Hotwire with the following information. Basically they have taken off the laundry facilities for this hotel and have offered me a refund or Hotwire Dollars. Here is the exact email language: We are contacting you about your upcoming stay at Holiday Inn Express Sacramento. Hotwire Itinerary ********. We regret that the hotel is not able to offer the Laundry Facilities (self-service) that was listed on our website. We periodically review our representation of our hotel partners' amenities for the most accurate and up-to-date information and have made a change to our Web site to reflect the current offerings of Holiday Inn Express Sacramento. As such, we would like to offer you the option of either canceling the reservation for a full refund along with 50 HotDollars, or keeping the reservation and receiving 50% of your entire stay in HotDollars. Your HotDollars can be used to book any flight, car rental, hotel reservation or package on the Hotwire Web site. Each one is equivalent to one U.S. dollar in value and is available for one year from the date of issuance. Should you choose to cancel, we would be happy to assist you in rebooking to be certain that you are accommodated during your trip.
  13. I booked those same amenities a few nights ago with 4* HOTWIRE USE at $109 and it was the Palace which is also Starwood like Westin but has even more history since it is older.
  14. Please help with a bidding strategy. Prefer not to go over $50 since most people are getting Crowne Plaza which has a $12 resort fee. 3.5* Disneyland from 2/10-2/12 Looks like I have 3 rebid zones. Anaheim Hills, Laguna Beach, Seal Beach
  15. Please help identify the following: February 10-12 Hotwire - 3* Disneyland North - $49 a night Gym Pool Business Center Internet
  16. 4* San Francisco (USE) Palace Hotel March 21-23, 2009 at $109 a night Amenities: Gym Pool Restaurant Business Center Internet SPA Use your HOTWIRE link. Thanks for the great advice.
  17. That was my guess too and I got it. I will post on a new thread. I used your HOTWIRE link. 3* Sacramento (Downtown) Holiday Inn Express - Hotwire March 23-25, 2009 $52 a night Amenities were: Breakfast Gym Business Center Laundy High Speed Internet Tennis I originally wanted a 4* but for these dates I got rejected on Priceline at up to $105 a night and decided to go a cheaper route.
  18. One last question. Since we are a little ways out from my date of March 21-23 would I be better off waiting awhile to try to get the 4* USE? If it doesn't matter, should I just take the $109 USE 4* on Hotwire right now that I would assume is the St. Francis because it has the spa? This is my first experience with Priceline so I am not sure if they will accept lower bids as the date gets closer or if it doesn't matter much. Thanks for your help and patience with this newbie.
  19. Thank you for the information. I will have to think about the 3.5* Here is the info. on the 3* Hotwire Please help identify. 3* Downtown sacramento - 3/23-3/25 for 2 nights at $53 a night Amenities: Breakfast Gym Business Center Laundry High speed internet Tennis
  20. Please help identify. 3* Downtown sacramento - 3/23-3/25 for 2 nights at $53 a night Amenities: Breakfast Gym Business Center Laundry High speed internet Tennis
  21. Or if you want to help me identify a 3* on Hotwire for $53 a night that would be great. I will put it on the Hotwire thread. I would bet at $53 a night that I wouldn't do much better than that on priceline but you tell me.
  22. You were right. I got rejected at $105 for the 4*. Now I am considering the 3* and am wondering if you have a strategy and a price range suggestion. Thank you for all of your help!
  23. I tried to bid on a 4* (USE) in San Francisco on Priceline and got rejected at up to $105 a night. Now I am looking at a 4* USE on Hotwire for $109 a night. I am hoping/assuming it is the Westin St. Francis. Let me know your opinion. 4* USE $109 a night Fitness Center Pool Restaurant Business Center High Speed Internet SPA
  24. Just to clarify. When you say I have 6 rebid zones you mean there are 6 zones in the area that don't have 4* hotels, right?
