  1. Used the PRICELINE links. Knew I could get lower than the accidental $68 bid I won yesterday, so started at $51, which was declined. 24 hours later increased to $56 and got this property as expected, which will work well that night before my early flight out on the 11th. No frills, just easy access to/from the airport and a place to rest my head for 8 hours.
  2. Was not able to get a 4* room, bid up to $81 in San Jose, San Jose South, and Santa Clara. Lowered star rating and got this. I forgot to lower my bid when I was moving down from 3.5 to 3 stars and may have overpaid for this. If you're bidding for this property, I would recommend starting around $58. Reviews are mixed, I stayed at the SFO Airport Garden Hotel in September and was not impressed. However, for this trip I needed to be near the airport (airport shuttle service) for this night and photos make the property look better than the SFO property. So, it works for me for one night, before I head down the California coast to a retreat center in the Santa Cruz mountains. Used the PRICELINE links, and thanks for providing a great travel service.
  3. First bid $16 and it was refused. 24 hours later bid $17 and it was accepted.
  4. First bid $60, they offered an auto rebid of $67. Declined. Added another area to rebid for $61 and got this property. Used the better bidding PRICELINE link.
  5. Recently won this bid after a lot bidding around this price range for 2 to 4 * properties. Very difficult to find a room in the SFO area for under $50. Priceline is now calling it South San Francisco, but I think my bid for this was actually in SFO North.
  6. well, my friend changed her mind on the camping and did some bidding herself, for the first time, and got The Lodge at Santa Fe, a Priceline 3* property for a bid of $87 for the above dates. I think the bid could have been lower, but she's happy anyway. Thanks. Yet unfortunately, because she did the bidding without me, she did not use the BetterBidding PRICELINE links. :-(
  7. My friend has decided to make other arrangements, maybe camping?, but thank you for your help.
  8. Okay, thanks. I'll let my friend who's going know about this and see how she wants to proceed. I'll get back to you either way about what's decided/happens. Thank you for running this forum!
  9. This 1* wasn't bad, especially for the price. The room was relatively clean, reliable/consistent maid service, good location, free wifi, refrigerator, and a comfortable mattress.
  10. Hello, Does anyone have any price advice for a 3* or higher room in Sante Fe Plaza? Started doing some bidding yesterday up to $89 for a 4* with no luck. How high do you think those properties will go that time of year? Thanks.
  11. decided to go with a 1* on Priceline and got it in San Rafael area for $36 per night, dates 4/14/11-4/19/11. See Priceline board for details.
  12. After a bunch of bidding on Priceline, I decided to go for a 1*. Started in Sausalito area at $31, this was also refused when adding San Rafael, then bid $36 Sausalito, which was refused, added San Rafael for $36 and got the Travelodge San Rafael for dates 4/14/11-4/19/11. It's a bargain and hopefully the motel will prove to be adequate for sleeping during my trip. My unsuccessful bidding went as follows: 3* in Sausalito and San Rafael areas for $73 2.5 * Sausalito $67 2.5* San Rafael $71 2* Sausalito $66 2* San Rafael $61 I decided I really didn't want/need to spend more that what I was bidding and bit the bullet and started bidding low for a 1*. First time ever bidding 1* on Priceline.
  13. Hello, Besides being a 2* for $54 per night in the above area of Marin County, HOTWIRE also says that the property includes: complimentary breakfast and high speed internet access. Any idea what property this is? Thanks.
  14. After looking at posts on this forum, bid $51 and got this property on the first try.
  15. Found it on HOTWIRE. I'll keep trying PRICELINE for now and post when I have an outcome.
  16. Yes, where do I find that property? Hotwire? If it's a 3* I would probably first bid a little lower for a 3* in San Rafael on Priceline.
  17. Hello, Would ideally like 3* in San Rafael region, but it's looking like I won't get the deal I'd like. I have started bidding on Priceline for these dates. Am up to $59 for 3* properties in San Rafael and Sausalito areas. Have also gone up to $55 for 2.5* in SAusalito, up to $44 for 2* in Sausalito, and 2* for $42 in SAn Rafael. Anyone have any bidding tips for these dates for a 3* in San Rafael? I'm also willing to go lower on * ratings and stay in the Sausalito area but would really like a property with a pool.
  18. Started bidding low for all size cars. Rejected prices were: midsize - $19 and below Compact - $17 and below Economy - $17 and below Standard - $19 and below Convertible - $22 and below Full size - $18 and below. PRICELINE did say I could add on $3 for a midsize, so it looks like they're going for around $20 to $21 per day.
  19. I did use the better bidding PRICELINE link each time - that should show on your end.
  20. Hi, Just had some fun bidding and happily got the hotel we wanted for 115 dollars per night. 1. $80 for 4* in Montreal - rejected. 2. $90 for 4* (added Laval - no 4*s there) -rejected. 3. $100 for 4* (added Longeuil - no 4* there) - rejected but gave me an automatic other bid if I would add $25 - said no. 4. $115 for 4* (added Point Clair - no 4*s there either) and was given the 4* InterContinental for the three nights.
