  1. Needed a cheap place to stay for a road trip. Notes: 1. Bidded $35 on "Boise Airport" and "Meridian" areas, 3 stars. Rejected. 2. Bidded $36 on "Boise Airport", "Meridian" and "Boise" areas, 3 stars. Accepted. I used the magical PRICELINE link as a 'tip jar' for the excellent service this board provides.
  2. Cheapest hotel in Victoria for the summer, that's for sure. Next one would probably be $100+. Only negative is that you have to drive to get to the city (public transit may be available), but that wasn't an issue for me. Hotwire amenities: Smoke Free Rooms, Restaurant(s), Business Center
  3. I wasn't seriously expecting to win this bid based on the heavy season, but I gave it a shot (including in the YYJ - Victoria Airport area) but did not win a bid. Instead, there was a $71 3* place on HOTWIRE which I got after this bid failed.
  4. I will confirm this as well for a trip booked in early August. Most, if not all, the other places are in the $100+ range at this time of year!
  5. This bid was actually won in early July, but I forgot to post it here. I chose 4*, Ottawa downtown (only), and got the Westin on the first try. Note this was part of a Priceline promotion where they would add US$10 to your bid as a bonus, so the actual bid was US$55. Maybe I overbid! The room was excellent, newly renovated. It is a very good place to stay in Ottawa especially if you don't have to park a car (parking near downtown Ottawa is ridiculously expensive).
  6. To answer the moderator, the conventional channels started around CAD$105-ish. I ended up staying at a bed and breakfast. Note for the purposes of this thread I also, a few days later, bidded on single nights at the same price, and up to US$70 before giving up (i.e. failed bids)
  7. The subject says it all - US$65/night rejected.
  8. Avoid the price madness at the strip, pretty good price for the best that downtown has to offer. I wonder how bookings at hotels will be for CES after all of this is said and done. Note that HOTWIRE has this property at 64 a night.
  9. Subject line says it all. Suspect because the Thursday (Jan 8) night is very expensive due to CES.
