Started bidding 07/09 Would always start with 5* City Center, started with $80, would add the other three zones as none of them had a 5* hotel and would incrementally increase my bid by $5. Tried bidding regularly, about every day or so and always kept the bidding under $110 or so. Even though I had about a month and half to go, I kept seeing the prices constant, both on the priceline.com regular website and also other back up sites such as the recommend one here, easyclicktravel.com Finally decided to try to go a bit higher. Bid $110 5* City Center yesterday, got rejected. Rebid $115 and added another rebid zone. Rejected but was offered a counter offer for $30 more at $145. Declined the offer and rebid again with another zone at $5 more at $120, once again received another rebid offer to offer $30 more at $150. Declined that offer and rebid again at $125, that was declined with no offer to rebid at a higher price. Tried again today, tried it at $120 to start, it was declined, was offered to rebid for $30 more at $150, declined that offer and decided to add another zone at $125, it was declined, decided to add another zone at $130 and it was also rejected, used the final rebid zone and rebid at $137. The offer was accepted and it was the Hilton Vienna Plaza. It is 61% off the rack rate, so happy about that also! It's a tad bit father than I wanted (wanted something closer to the Opera House as we have bought tickets to a show for the night that we arrive), but there is a metro stop right at the hotel and I read it is a quick 15 minute walk to the center. Very pleased with the choice. Of course I used the PRICELINE link you guys provided.
