  1. Oh Im sure it isn't that bad. I actually really enjoy the Westin, and I do see why Priceline can't take them out. The only trend I notice is generally, if you bid high you might get something else... You won't get the Venitian or Wynn for $65 bucks right? Realistically? I don't notice that much savings on the Venetian/Wynn over all. Lowest I've seen it on Hotwire is about $105. The going rate for the Ventian is about $199... So if you want the Venitian or the Wynn just go pay for it, or see what HOTWIRE can do for you. You probably won't save that much on PRICELINE anyways.
  2. Yes, it would be THEhotel, I've never seen it go for under about $150.
  3. Luxor is a 4 star I believe. Also anything "South Strip" would be fairly close to Mandalay Bay :)
  4. The Westin is very nice! I know it's not glamorous, but I just stayed there last month and really enjoyed the rooms. Super comfy beds, the super shower, nice towels. I liked it :)
  5. I always just go check in myself and have the rest of my party wait elsewhere, and i've never had an issue with it...
  6. Believe I used the link! Maybe not between all the bidding and rebidding I had to do haha. But I did start with it. Yea, it's a nice place, and the main reason I'm going is to an event the Palms, so I guess being on the strip really isn't that important, and I'm driving! :) Yea, all the 4 stars on hotwire, were about $140 for the strip! So I'd rather do this and save a few :)
  7. Ahh wish it wasn't the Westin, but it's ok for this trip :). I've stayed there before and enjoyed it. i tried a TON of bids, and rebids and thats the best I could do. Guess it's an expensive weekend!
  8. Hmm, yea try HOTWIRE first? You can't avoid the Trump. I've seen the Venitian up there for around $125... Maybe just check with them directly, since your rate is fairly high? Rooms there usually are around $199
  9. I stayed there last year, and they just shuttle you over to the Venetian through like a hallway. I think they aren't done? or they are just sharing. I'd rather stay Venetian/Palazzo over the Wynn personally, with like a zillion restaurants and the shopping, and the rooms are giant, it's awesome!
  10. Well you can always have the hotel hold your bags and then go mill around for a while. I stayed at Excalibur like 2 years ago, before the room remodel and it was fine.. and super clean. It's just not luxurious. Luxor is definitely nicer. and for what it's worth, I stayed at the Westin and I really enjoyed it... the rooms were great and the beds were comfortable and nice to be w/o smoking for a while. Might want to book the extra room to stay late. Since it's 100zillion degrees a shower would be nice LOL!
  11. What is the star rating now? I never thought of Cesars as particularly nice...
  12. I would guess that is the Wynn... since it doesn't have a Suite icon.
  13. Wow, that is a great deal :) :) I love that hotel. Haven't stayed since it was converted.
  14. Ugh, stupid! Can't they just get rid of the Trump? I noticed HOTWIRE put Condo.
  15. I went last year. It wasn't all that bad. Not SUPER crowded but not dead either... Just beware it's about 115
  16. Made me laugh to read about the bailed out banks booking 12 days at the Wynn :) they should get bumped to Circus Circus :) and my reservation was for last weekend, not Valentines, so it's not only that weekend that was messed up.
  17. The only 5 star south strip reported to the board is THEHotel at Mandalay Bay. Which is usually fairly high, because it's small... You can probably get it for about $170 a night at the lowest. Haven't really seen any deals on it.
  18. It was ok. I thought it was totally remodeled, but it was just the casino... I'm quite surprised they call this a 4 star though, but the deal was good enough, couldn't of done better on such short notice. I've been to Vegas a million times, I knew pretty much what I was getting. It was ok for this specific trip. We didn't do a SINGLE thing in the hotel (cause there isn't much there!), we went elsewhere anyways so it was fine haha.
  19. Luxor is so not a nice 4 star.. blah, but it was fine for my needs. They just e-mailed me, my refund of "$10.00" was approved... um... lets hope not. Inquiring further. I'd expect I couldn't cancel if I didn't have the insurance, because I didn't pick a specific property in the first place...
  20. Priceline just e-mailed me, my refund has been "submitted for review" ... I did have the travel insurance so i would imagine it's not a problem. But, now i have to wait 15 days :)
  21. Well, since I was bumped from the Wynn, I took their $10 off per night link and booked this. First I did $60 (which they bid $70 cause of the coupon) with North strip only (as I was weary about the Westin). Then I added South Strip and raised it to $65 (which they bid $75) and I won the Luxor. Which I'm happy with. I thought Luxor was a 3 star, did they bump it because of the renovations? I heard it's pretty snazzy now... I don't beleve I have ever stayed there, and it was under heavy construction the few times I went last year.
  22. Well, can't hurt to take the $10 off a night and see if you can do better. Well, I am young, and my friend I'm going with is cheap, haha the Luxor is probalby a better bet for us anyways. I tried that then cancelled my Trump reservations. The guy on the phone asked why, and I told him it was an inferior property to the one I was originally scheduled to stay at and I was not pleased. (but again, India, they don't understand). Same, no problem with the Trump if I had originally gotten it. Just now, after the excitement of the Wynn, one of the fanciest hotels in the world? To some convereted condos without a casino... no thanks. My friend has never been to Vegas, I want to show her a fun time! I go several times a year, and can navigate it no problem, it's not a big deal to me. But yes! Thank you for this board, very helpful.
  23. Wow, redic. I got bumped from Priceline less than a day before my trip! and just booked the Luxor with my $10 discount Priceline gave me ugh... Priceline did give me a full refund, I did pay the $5 cancel fee.. but I think they would have done it regardless. They weren't offering up any other hotels or anything. As much as a free room would be nice, it's not Priceline or Hotwires fault, so it's kind of a rock and a hard place right? They shouldn't have to give free services because the Wynn screwed up. At least Hotwire is offering a decent amount of money, Priceline only gave me $10 to a future purchase. I vote they remove Wynn and Trump from their list! I would of been gladly relocated to the Venetian or the Palazzo, but the Trump? Forget it. I tried to explain when they called as to why I didn't want to stay at the Trump, and that by Vegas standards it is an inferior property, but they were obviously in India and had no clue about why one wouldn't be happy with the changes.
