  1. On the reservation, I see this:

Amenities Free parking, Free breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access.

    Accessibility In-room accessibility

I did use BiddingHelper.com but I purchased on the Hotwire tab, not the easy view tab.

Also, I was thinking of using PRICELINE, but I could not 'log-in' from the priceline tab, it would just open a window to let me log in to a small window, without showing the login on the main page, where I had progressed to almost the purchase step.

  2. Hard call between a $79/nt 3* with 80% recommended vs. $72/nt 2.5* with 90% recommended.

But I went with the 2.5*.  Hotwire was correct when they said "The last person got the Best Western Palm Court Inn "

If I had book direct with the hotel, it would have been $220.62 (after tax), the Hotwire (after tax) was $169.42, that $50 savings will fill my car's tank on the way!

  3. Almost went for the other $74 option, the 3* for the same price, 85% satisfied, but no breakfast.  But when I saw breakfast, 2.5* and an increased 95% satisfied (and same price for same location) I took it.

Sadly, both this option and the 3* (same location) option did not allow two nights.

Location and hotel are great, so I am happy.

Thanks to the "hotel listings" at this great site, I saw this hotel listed, at 2.5* with free breakfast, and it correctly predicted the outcome!

  4. Grabbed this when I saw 100% satisfaction and 55% off sale, as looking for 3 nights with less than 24 hour notice.

The hotels web site shows the room for $179 first night, and $107 the remaining.  Appears to be a good deal (as usual).

    Fee details:  Here with Hotwire: $72*3 = $216 + $55.05 taxes = $271.05

    Fee at Hotel: $179*2+$107 = $465 + $67.42 tax = $532.42.  That is 51% off, not complaining.

  5. I started out (from here) with Price.line, airport area, 3.5* and 3* for $55, then $60, $65, and $70 over two days and added the closest two areas.  No luck.  Switched to Hotwire and went with this option, only 7 miles from the airport, and reviews looked good (95% recommended).  Trip Advisor was showing 4.5 out of 5.0, and Hotwire's 95% reviews showed 91 reviews.

Note that this was for two rooms, I went to the Hotel's web site, clicked on "low price" guarantee, with AAA discount, and Hotwire saved me $80 after fees and tax.

Amenities showing were: Free parking,   Free breakfast,   Free Internet,   Airport shuttle, Smoke-free rooms,   Fitness center,   Restaurant(s),   Business center.

  6. Started at the Airport,3.5 stars, for $50.  Added a few areas, then went to 3 stars and $55.  Added $1 per try as I added a couple more areas, and at $58  arrived at:  Red Lion Hotel On The River Jantzen Beach Portland.  Their web site shows $100/nt, and priceline (listed) shows $117/nt, so a decent deal, for same day reservations.

  7. The only 3.5 hotel Hot.wire was showing in Billings.  90% approval was shown.  Got the kids with me, or would have done Price.line first.

Bidding.helper showed hotels for me in easy view and express.  Sometimes this is good, but I wanted to check, so I went HOTWIRE (via the link) and saw a list, to compare.  Picked the Crowne Plaze (for $200) to see what it said, and interestingly, Hotwire showed me the information and then right next to it said to click on the hot rate link for savings "Same star rating nearly half price" and then showed the "same" 3.5 hotel "1.5 to 6 miles" from the Crowne Plaze.  That got me thinking it was something else.  But was not.  The Crowne Plaza it is.  (Almost stayed at the Best Western in Laurel, but that is not on Hotwire or Priceline, but had some good reviews (a good breakfast) and was $90.00.)

    Amenities listed:

    Free Parking

    Airport Shuttle

    Smoke Free Rooms

    Fitness Center

    Restaurant(s)

    Business Center

    Internet access

  8. I went ahead with the 3*, but the 2.5 was very tempting, especially when you see 100% recommendations, but the 2.5* would of been $5/nt more than the 3*.

I used the BiddingHelper.com Easy View which saved $5/nt, thanks for that option.

The hotel has Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Suite, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Kitchenette.

Had I booked at Hawthorn Suite's web page, it would be $477.18 (they have 20% off sale), Hotwire was $446.83 after tax and fees, which is only just over a $30 savings for 6 nights.  I have done better, hotwire was happy to tell me I saved just over 50%, but not so.  Not complaining, especially since last month I was in Boston and this total cost would of got me 2 nights stay instead of 6!

  9. Looking for what this might be:

    HOT RATE HOTEL
    Dayton South - Miamisburg area

100% recommended, on 11 reviews, all rating 5 out of 5 (which looks a bit suspicious)

Free Parking,   Free Breakfast,   Free Internet,   Fitness Center, Pool(s),   Business Center, and   Self service laundry.

Could this be the "BEST WESTERN PLUS Dayton South"

I am currently showing $65, with regular rate $90.

    Thanks in advance...

  10. Wanted one night in North Seattle area, started with 3.5 stars and went from $80 to $100, no luck so went to 3* and back down to about $88 and incremented in $2 until I got the Holiday Inn. At the hotel's web site, I am showing "best" rate at $129, so I saved a bit, but have done much better usually.

    I start and end here.

    At Hotel: 128.99 + 15.45 (tax) is $144.44 total.

    Priceline: 96 + $22.10 (tax&fee) is $118.10.

I like to see the difference after tax and fee.

  11. Hotels in Boston were getting full and expensive, so I drive a couple more miles, price was right.

I started with PL and did not go over $100 in all of boston with 3*.  Then did outer areas (N and S), still no luck.

Got this with HOTWIRE's "Secret Hot Rate."

    Amenities:

Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Suite, Indoor pool(s), Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center,

(started and ended with the HOTWIRE links here)

  12. Hotels in the Boston (and area) were hard to find, I did Price.line 3* (many areas) for $92, did not want to go much more.  This may be a nice surprise for $64/nt, we will see.

Started and ended with betterbidding.com PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links.

    Amenities:
