  1. I don't actually need a hotel at the moment - we just browse occasionally to see whether there are good deals in the Southern California region and I could not remember whether that zone had ever been an option on Hotwire under another name. Thanks for the reply! I always use your site as my starting point for Priceline and Hotwire purchases.
  2. Doing a search in the San Diego area, one of the zones for Hotwire is El Cajon - Santee - Alpine. I am not seeing that on your list of choices for zones, so there is no way to see what the possible hotel choices are. Is this a new zone to Hotwire, or do I just need more coffee, or what? Is it possible that hotels in this zone were in a different category previously, and do you know what it might be? Thanks!
  3. Used the BetterBidding HOTWIRE link to book this deal: Sheraton La Jolla, $116. Amenities: Free Internet Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Accessibility: Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower Note, total came to $142.57 after fees. Still... $169 before fees on the Sheraton web site ($190 after). A good deal.
  4. 4-star Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles This Hotel features the following amenities: Pet friendly Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Thanks as always, BetterBidding! Used your HOTWIRE link to find this bargain. Same room, same dates but not blind on Hotwire is showing $249/night, so I am very pleased!
  5. Used your PRICELINE link to purchase two nights at the Crowne Plaza Anaheim for $52 per night. Had bid $48, then it said if I wanted to rebid at $65 immediately they'd consider it. I said no and added a zone with no three-star hotels, was accepted at $52. Very pleased with the outcome and enjoyed my last stay at this hotel. Thanks for all the great information on your site! (Sorry, can't edit title line, was $52 per night, 10/1 to 10/3/2010)
  6. Amenities listed were Fitness, High-Speed Internet, Restaurant. Location was perfect for our needs, and even though we booked a (less satisfactory) room through your PRICELINE link for the same night, the improvement is still worth the additional cost of double-booking. Was surprised the amenities were so sparse, but the Hotwire hotel list came through for us! Thanks, guys!
  7. It is possibly the Hotel Indigo -- I will post on the main forum with details.
  8. After much thought, we decided to eat the cost and go through your HOTWIRE link to book a second room. The value it will add to our experience was just worth the extra cost! We are now booked into the Hotel Indigo and are very happy with the decision. I will make a post on the Hotwire forum with the details of our booking. Thanks for the advice -- it's going to be an expensive night, but totally worth it. :)
  9. Used your PRICELINE link to bid on a hotel for this coming weekend... you get what you get and you don't get upset, but I'm super-bummed. There are 14 hotels in the star range and zone, and 13 of them are walking distance from where I'll be Friday night. I figured it was worthwhile to try to bid and any of the 13 would be fine, all had decent reviews, all were a reasonable walk... After rebidding and adding zones about 6 times, I finally hit a number Priceline liked. It was for the 14th hotel, literally the only one that is driving distance away. So if I want to park at the hotel and not drive (there will be wine involved, I'm trying to be responsible!) :) my transportation to and from the event will have to be by cab. This deal is only about $20 less than the advertised rates at the hotels right where I want to be, and the extra transportation will eat that benefit right up. I could have stayed exactly where I wanted and come out even. I just figured a 13-out-of-14 chance was worth the gamble. Although I'm always happy with BetterBidding and the fantastic services you provide, I just want to remind everybody that you roll the dice when you go Priceline, and sometimes it comes up snake eyes. :) It IS possible that Priceline isn't the best overall value for your dollar, rare but it happens. Oh well! I'll still have a great weekend nonetheless, and I'm about 13 good bargains to one not-good, so I'm still WAY ahead using this site to find my bargains. :o
  10. Used your PRICELINE link to bid on a hotel for a quick trip to Disneyland in case we didn't feel like driving back home afterwards. First bid $35 rejected, added a 3*-max additional zone and second bid $40 accepted. Thanks, as usual!
  11. Used your wonderful PRICELINE link and your WONDERFUL rebid advice to get this hotel! Rejected at $55 with just Pike Place region, added a non-4* region and went to $65 (rejected), added another non-4* region and was successful with $78. I used $10/day in "bonus cash" from them as well, so the technical $ amount was $88. My favorite part is when I go to the hotel web site after a successful bid and look up how much they are charging for the same rooms. The absolute cheapest was $152-$177 for the same nights. Thanks, you guys! You're great!
  12. Used betterbidding.com's PRICELINE link to get a standard size for $30 at SFO. Posted rates were in the high 40s for these days, even for compact, so we're pretty happy! Love this site! :)
  13. New to posting wins, thanks for the assistance! Started with $55 and 3* figuring it would probably be rejected, but was fine with 2.5* at same rate. As expected, had to back off the stars but the 2.5s in that area looked pretty nice and the location ended up being perfect for our needs!
  14. Thank you again -- just got word that I will NOT need to book a room after all, but I will always come here first when making hotel plans and send my friends through your links as well. You guys are awesome! :)
  15. Thanks, guys! The travel date is next Tuesday, 10/28/08 for one night. Hotwire is also showing a 4* and I had assumed it was possibly the Claremont because it said it was a resort with golf, and a quick Google search popped that one up. It was showing terrible reviews because of the resort and parking adding another $48/night to the fee, and even lower * ratings on HOTWIRE have higher prices on that night. I might just PRICELINE a 3.5 and see what happens one I have confirmed for sure that I need the hotel... I'll use your links and report back here what happens if I book a room. :)
  16. Hi all! I'm a relative newb here, and I'm trying to book a 4* in Emeryville/Berkeley through either PRICELINE or HOTWIRE. I couldn't find ANY 4*s in these areas for either Priceline or Hotwire on the hotel lists, but both groups have them available, supposedly. Am I just the first one who's ever wanted to stay there or something? Any idea what might be out there? Thanks so much for any help you can provide!
