  1. I have been at 5* properties where the kids have taken over the pool (Four Seasons Resort Dallas: BTW wonderful property and pet friendly). I have been at 2* properties where no one was using the pool. In the time frame that you
  2. I have had some good luck using Site59 for short notice flights. I have gotten a flight and rental car for a few days for less than than 50% of a ticket alone.
  3. I have never had Travel Insurance added on. But I make sure not to click that option.
  4. No way to know. No. Yes. You can usually beat the counter offers.
  5. Booked one night for when I get back in after my vacation. After I get back I will find out how long I will be in town. But I am ready to move on to the next project. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $45.00 Subtotal: $45.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $12.97 Total Charges*: $57.97 Hotel web site $135.99
  6. After several days bidding for 3* (airport and Eagan zones) gave up, the rates were more than I wanted to pay. The savings can go to a nice dinner at Jensens Supper Club. http://www.jensenssupperclub.com Still a good place to stay for the price. Close to Sams Club and Joe Senser's. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $25.00 Subtotal: $125.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $24.34 Total Charges*: $149.34 Hotel websites for mid week were high. Weekend web site rates were still low. Prime example of if I had to have a 3 * then I should have bid early.
  7. I love the idea. The problem for me is that I work so much that its hard to plan these kind of things.
  8. Used the PRICELINE link. Used the $50 in bonus cash but won for the same real $$$ as before. Offer Price Summary Bonus Cash Per Room, Per Night: $8.33 Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $45.00 Total Offer Price Per Room, Per Night with Bonus: $53.33 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total Charges to your Credit Card Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $45.00 Subtotal: $270.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $51.66 Total Charges*: $321.66
  9. It is always good to be the first one to add a new property to the list. But please after your stay add a review. This is good info for others.
  10. Some airlines already charge extra for the best seats.
  11. Welcome to the board. When traveling with a pet you need to contact the hotel direct (as in pick up the phone). A lot of Hotels do not allow pets or they have big fees, I have seen $250 per stay. Quite often this information is not on the web sites.
  12. Decided to use some of my savings from the week before to stay some place nice / close to the project. Was shooting for for the Holiday Inn in St Paul. It has a nice patio lounge. But the Crown Plaza will work out just fine. First bid 3* St paul $55 offered a chance to win for $15 more. So I knew that I was close. Rebid $58 and won. Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $58.00 Subtotal: $522.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $79.77 Total Charges*: $601.77 Parking is $14 per day but I knew that bidding this zone I would have to pay for parking. Hotel website $159.
  13. A full size one at that! And a Sams club is just behind the place.
  14. Used the PRICELINE link. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $25.00 Subtotal: $150.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $27.68 Total Charges*: $177.68 Hotel website $59.99 I won this property in Nov can't complain for the price.
  15. Will you have a car? Most St Paul hotels charge to park (around $15 per day). You should be able to get lower prices and free parking by the airport or Eagan zones.
  16. Cheaking PL and I see a 4* listed for the Minneapolis-St Paul (Airport-MofA) area. So I go for it, my last bid was $75. I did not want to go higher.
  17. I am currently at the property and it is under renovation. Yes that is kind of a pain but it means lots of cheap rooms for the time being. I was put into one of the newly renovated rooms (corner suite actually). I am sure that is not the normal PL upgrade but it is a long stay. Food in the bar is not bad, food is kind of expensive but it
  18. Beav, I like the Intercontinental brand, best of all they are expanding in the US. I have heard good things about this new location. If your going to directy book a few Intercontinental properties in a year join the Ambassador program. (but book hotels using the link from this site). I am a Royal Ambassador and get very signifiacnt upgrades (Club floor suites). They have some other great new properties (Buckhead / Tampa) they do have some tired locations (Dallas). Your experince with room service is why I don't order room service breakfast at any hotel. I may order coffee, juice or pastries but the eggs are always bad and expensive. As much as I like the Intercontinental brand some things are way to expensive example: internet & mini-bar. Intercontinentals are for business people and these things usually are paid for by the company so cost is not a question for most customers. (BTW I get free drinks from the mini-bar) If you would like to know more about the Ambassador program drop me a PM.
  19. Check in went great! Handed over my PC Platinum card and was upgraded to a corner suite away from the train. Suite has a fridge and microwave. May try to add some nights.
