I am not sure how much $ Priceline wants over what they pay. I did know that they would take $45 but did not know iwhat the bottom line would be. Will they go lower? If so next time I will bid lower.

First bid $48 for 2.5* in zone Trumbull-Shelton for 7 (11/22-11/29) nights rejected. Offered rebid if I raised by $14. For second bid added one night (11/22-11/30) and Stratford - Milford zone. Bid of $49 rejected. Third bid added Bridgeport back to 7 nights. $50 bid rejected. Looks like the Holiday is messing things up. Ok decided to go for the Homestead which was my back up anyway. When checking in I noticed a rate of $42.99. Fourth bid added 2* bid $44 per night for 6 nights. Bid accepted. Offer Price: $44.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 6 Subtotal: $264.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $43.62 Total Charges: $307.62

The rate is real good, my company has a corp rate of $64/night.

$45 per night got me the Shelton Homestead Studio Suites. Which I am not complaing about, it is nice to have a frige.

First bid for 2* was accepted @ $45. Total Charges for one week: $365.76

Bid $50 for Bridgeport 3 *, rebid $55 after adding Milford. Best part is this hotel is right down the street from where I need to be. I am Priority Club plat so first I looked at the hotels web site. The price? $134/night. I will pass on the points for that kind of price diff. One point the hotels website says parking is $5/night. I will post more info after I get to the hotel.

The hotel is undergoing a needed rehab. The service is what you would expect from a full service Holiday Inn. The onsite restaurant / bar has great food and the service is friendly even when busy. The fitness center is very basic. The pool hot tub area looked OK with plenty of towels available. USA delivered to my room on most days. I asked about booking another week for the same rate but was told that I would have to rebook using Hotwire. That was the only time that Hotwire was ever mentioned so I was never treated as a second class citizen. Over all I was very satisfied with my stay.

I was surprised to get any reply on Turkey day. Give me a few days to check out the services and I will do a review. First impression is that the hotel could use an update but the service is very good. I am happy with the price when I booked it dropped to $38 per day. The Motel 6 close by is $33 per night.

I went ahead and booked the room. It is the Holiday Inn Des Moines - Merle Hay I80&35,IA. On the Priority Club web site it is listed for $75 per night.

I am trying to figure out which hotel this is. 3-star Hotel Northwest Des Moines - Urbandale Best Value Icons include Restaurant Pool Fitness Center Laundry Facilities It is listed for $39 per night, if I know which hotel it is I may go for it.
