  1. Starting bidding 2 days ago at a low of $65 through today bid up to $90 and was successful at the same location I stayed last year for the annual basketball tournament I participate in. Found the property to be enjoyable. And of course, only a fool would head over to PRICELINE without using a better bidding affiliate link. Cheers guys.
  2. First time this situation has happened to me: Started bidding last week for the lone 4* hotel in the McCormick Place-Medical District at $45, $50, $55, $60, $65, $67, $69 (hehe), $71, $73, $75, $77 with no luck. Switched gears to target either of the two 3.5* hotels in McCormick Place-Medical District at $45, $50, $55, $60. On 2nd round of bidding the next day of $63, $65, $67, bid was accepted at $67 but for the 4 star Hyatt Regency McCormick Place. Apparently new availability? This might be commonplace, just first time happened to me. First time staying at this site, have historically bid on more downtown locations. Trying to save on parking and our event is at UIC. Will hopefully land a lakeview room to look at while changing diapers! I used the PRICELINE links from the better bidding website, as per usual. Love the new interface (at least since I last posted) for "Sharing my win". Thanks!
  3. In town from Milwaukee for a Vanessa Carlton concert (don't judge me!) at the City Winery with my wife. Started bidding at $45, $50, $55, $60, then won at $65. Used the PRICELINE links at the bottom of a signature as per usual. Thanks!
  4. Hmmm, I wonder if there is something going on that weekend? I was planning on starting my bidding for that weekend today, but of course had to check here first! I dont think I've ever had to pay that much for a room (from my history of around 5-8 wins or so I think the max was $93). I plan on staying downtown for Lebowski-fest that weekend. Thanks for the info and congrats on the win. Hotel is a great location and looks excellent from what I've read/seen online.
  5. Started bidding yesterday, using the PRICELINE link of course, at $60, $65, $70, $72, $75, and didnt win through an $80 bid. Started bidding today again using the PRICELINE link at $83, $85, $87, $89, $91, and finally won on my last bid at $93. I've won here before and enjoy the location, service and amenities. I believe this is a higher price than I've paid historically, but still a great deal since I'll be taking the train in and not having to pay for parking. Also, Discover card has 5% off on hotels right now.
  6. Ive been bidding for a 4* in Financial District (rebid zones Fish Warf, Civic Center , Marina) for about 2 weeks now and am up to $112 per night for Feb 23rd through Feb 27th. Just thought I'd share.
  7. Booked three rooms at this price. Started bidding four days ago at $35 and made our way up to $65 today before winning. Five bids per day is quite nice with the re-bidding zones in the city.
  8. Went up to $88 for a 3.5* and $115 for a 4* last night with no luck. I called a Best Western that we stayed at previously that was in a good location and they have a couple of rooms left for $129 apiece. So I think that will be our limit for bidding. Tonight bid up to $110 for a 3.5* and made one bid at $60 for a 3*. I would classify us as not really needing anything fancy whatsoever. Just the cheapest place downtown (walking distance to and from bars). Tonight and tomorrow might just bid up to $80 or $100 a night for a 3* since that is what I would guess the Best Western mentioned above is (maybe even a 2.5*?).
  9. I hope that I wouldnt have to go much over the $125 a night territory in the downtown area. Those are damn near Times Square prices!!!
  10. Started bidding at the 3.5* and 4* at $40 per night for this weekend. Am currently up to $78 per night at 3.5* and $84 for 4*. Not sure what is going on this weekend, but damn these prices are getting high. Will update the post when I win. And yes, I am using the links from the board to get to PRICELINE.
  11. Wow, that is a great deal, especially since it was Memorial Day weekend. I am now searching for next weekend (Jun 11-13) via the PRICELINE links for a 4 star using all 5 free-bid zones in Milwaukee and am up to $60 from $40. I'll be making my own post with my win. Congrats again.
  12. **Hyatt Regency Have been bidding for about a week and a half starting at $60. In town for the Brewers-Twins weekend series. I've got to assume that's why the prices got so high (and we waited too long to start bidding).
  13. Been attempting to get this myself over the past week or so. Started around the $60 range and am now up to $80. Will be trying to get the $80 rate tomorrow.
  14. I too am looking for this same sitauation. I am up to $75 from $60 in just the downtown (Zone 5) with no luck thus far. I will be working my way up to $80 by weeks end. Will share the happenings.
  15. Started bidding yesterday at around $120 per night in basically every zone of new york (no airports or bronx or brooklyn or long island). Worked up to around $185 yesterday down to 2* with no luck. Started again tonight at around $195 at the 4* level and finally landed the 3* hotel at $220. I was shooting to stay in the middle of the city.
  16. Just some info, I just won a hotel room at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan from the same dates you are looking 9-14 to 9-16 for $220. I am flying in from chicago for the monday white sox game as well (I'm a Brewers fan heading there with a Sox fan and a Cubs fan). Here is my win: Crowne Plaza Times Square
