  1. Amenities showing on trip details: Free internet, pet friendly, airport shuttle, smoke free rooms, fitness center, pool(s), restaurant(s), business center, self serve laundry, internet access, golf nearby. I still believe the Priceline listing for a 3* is the same property only the casino amenity is a mistake. Doesn't affect us as he couldn't book through Priceline at 19. Price with taxes was $335 (I had $330 listed above) for 4 nights. It would have been $289 through Priceline with the 15% coupon code.
  2. Started out looking at Priceline.Express Deal for $76/night for a 3* but my son is 19 so we went with Hot.wire (for the hotel offered only have to be 18 whereas Price.line has a 21 age requirement) The casino amenity is not listed on Hotwire but Self service laundry, Smoke free rooms, and Free internet were added to the list. Hotwire says 80% recommended but Tripadvisor is saying 59%. I figured it was the Wyndham, and the location will be ideal for them. Going rate for this hotel is $122/night. He is very happy with the win.
  3. I found a 3* Express Deal that included a casino for $76/night. When I searched, I couldn't find a casino in that area of San Diego. Do you think this is a mistake? I used the Better Bidding link to PRICELINE to search for Express Deals. Amenities listed are Pool, Pets Allowed, Restaurant, Airport Shuttle, Business Center, Casino, Fitness Center. Guest rating is 7.0 and save 40% or more.
  4. Noted. Just seems really misleading that the 3.5* is listed as a $205, $335, $500, and $600 on different searches using different check-in dates. The $600 only comes up on 1/28/14 for a 4 night stay. I think I'd try my luck with PRICELINE first, using the link at the top of this page, as usual. It's really good to understand how they figure their discounts as not to "assume" the listed price is the hotel you're selecting. Thanks, again!!
  5. **Beating a dead horse here, most likely** When I search different dates (1/15-1/19/2014) on Hotwire, the 3.5* for Palm Beach is the $163 price but showing a value of $205 which is the Holiday Inn rate. Why would the value show $600 and 72% off for the dates I chose? Would they possibly offer a meal plan which would make it a $600 value? Holiday Inn is just finishing up a big reno that has given them some bad reviews lately. I think if I did win this and it was a standard room, I would give them some real grief. Even if they called it a $300 value, 72% off would make it $84. $164 is not a great deal, hot buy, or whatever they want to call it. Sorry to be a pain, I appreciate any replies, truly I do.
  6. 1. Holiday Inn Resort Aruba 1.855.315.1654 Holiday Inn Resort Aruba Compare 3.5 ... star rating Northwest Aruba: Palm Beach, Aruba, AW $205 lowest per night avg 2. Holiday Inn Resort Aruba All Inclusive 1.855.315.3781 Holiday Inn Resort Aruba All Inclusive Compare 3 ... star rating Northwest Aruba, Palm Beach, AW Specials: Children 12 and under Stay, Play and Eat Free $410 lowest per night avg This is from Travelocity, see "Compare 3.5" and "Compare 3" for the two different star ratings. I would also be surprised if Hotwire offered a meal plan, but I think it's really misleading to even put the $600 and 72% off. I think I'll take a chance on Priceline if I decide to book Aruba. And, as usual, I will use the Better Bidding link. This site is priceless, and it's one of my favorite travel tools. Thanks to all who help make it great!
  7. There really aren't any other 3.5* with casinos. Is there a chance this deal includes the meal plan? $167 (it went up) isn't really a great deal for the Holiday Inn unless it includes the all-inclusive option. There isn't another 3.5* Funny thing is Travelocity is showing the Holiday Inn Aruba Resort All-Inclusive as a 3*, and the Holiday Inn Resort Aruba (no meal plan) as a 3.5*. It's one resort, right? I say shame on Hotwire if they are comparing the Holiday Inn to any $600 resort or calling this 72% off if it is indeed Holiday Inn without a meal plan. Added: ....especially when Holiday Inn is going for $61 on Priceline.
  8. Why do you think it is showing the value as $600.00? Rates at Holiday Inn are $194-$258. I saw a 3.5* with a meal plan for around $600.00 but now I can't remember which resort, and I can't find that option again.
  9. Looking at Hotwire with a 3.5* offered in Palm Beach Oranjestad shows $600 value for $164. Amenities Free Parking, Free Internet, Resort, Beachfront, Casino, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, 80% recommended. I first thought Holiday Inn Casino, but when I look at their website, the $600 value would bump it up to inclusive plan. There really isn't anything else with those amenities when I plug everything into any travel search. I used the better bidding link for HOTWIRE to search. Which resort do you think this could be?
  10. I won the Hyatt Rosemont Near O'Hare Airport for $82 per night on the first try. I needed a room near the Westin O'Hare for one daughter who is visiting another daughter there on business with her family (not convenient to bunk together). I could have purchased a 3 1/2 star on Hotwire for $95 per night so I thought I would try $82 on Priceline. I was hoping for the Marriott Suites which is across N River Road from the Westin, but the Hyatt looks to be 1/3 mile North of the Westin so I think they will both be happy. I used the Better Bidding link to both Priceline and Hotwire while searching.
  11. I hope I'm not stepping on toes, but it sounds like you're looking at TAMPA airport (TPA) hotels but you listed you need help for St Petersburg airport (PIE). Maybe I don't understand your travel plans, but I would hate for you to book the wrong area.
  12. That is a great rate! I was curious, so I checked HOTWIRE for that date, and it came up $127 for a 3.5*. Woot woot for you and your first PRICELINE win!
  13. I used the PRICELINE link for my purchase. I am so thankful for this site! Does the reminder come up on every post?
  14. Chose this hotel for the airport shuttle and restaurant. It looks like we will be getting a cab, though, because the shuttle starts at 6 am and I have a 6:30 am flight. I am still happy with the win for this price. I was using Priceline for a 3 1/2 star up to $60 but decided I'd go with the "sure" shuttle. I knew there was a chance it didn't start early enough for my flight, so I planned to use a cab if necessary. Even with the cab fare, I am money ahead over the full price at Hampton Inn. PLUS - this is a beautiful property. Oh, forgot - we have a car and were planning to return it the night before. Maybe we will just keep it and drive it to the airport that morning. Kind'a wanted to return it the night before and save the hassle. Amenities shown: Suite, Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurants(s), Laundry Facilities, Hi-Speed Internet Access
  15. Great deal! I am watching TPA hotels. I WANT this one, but we NEED an airport shuttle so I'm trying to be cautious. The cookies are so tempting, tho! ;)
  16. I had a $5 bonus cash to use. I bid $40 and $42 within the last few weeks. My $42 bid plus $5 bonus cash got me the room.
  17. I called Priceline Customer Care regarding my concerns. She "assured" me that I was booked at the beach location. I explained that per Westin reservations, I could be assigned the golf location. She was shocked that they could send you to another property which is even in a different town (shows Hallandale as the address). She made a note that I called, and she suggested calling back to Customer Care if they assign me the golf location. I asked that she address this as a problem that the property is sending guests to a different location so Priceline can work it out with the Diplomat as policy. Even if they would ask if you would be interested in the golf location (maybe some would). I would consider this a "bait & switch" if Westin continually sends Priceline guests to the golf location. And, I agree, slipping some cash might work, too!
  18. I did call, and I was transferred to reservations. VERY nice lady said the booking is in the system but that the actual room won't be assigned until the day of or possibly the day before check in. She suggested I call two or three days ahead and speak directly to the front desk. At that time I can request to be assigned the beach location. Either location will show the South Ocean Drive address listed on the confirmation per Nice Lady.
  19. I was reading on Tripadvisor that many people who win the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa on Priceline are put at the Diplomat Golf Resort. I was hoping for the beach location. My confirmation shows the South Ocean Drive, Hollywood address which is the beach location. When I searched on the Westin site, the golf location is showing a Diplomat Drive, Hallandale address. Do you think I am understanding this correctly? Have other people posted that they received the golf location? I will try and call ahead a week prior to my travel to see what information is available. It's not that I should complain for $130 but I will be greatly disappointed if they put us at the golf location.
  20. I did just as you said, went from the email and "deposited" my dollars then went out and started at Better Bidding but MY REWARDS section was showing nothing. The email called it a 24 hour hotel sale, spectacular savings. I will try again the next time they send me something. I do all my searching from the Better Bidding link, does that help? Or does it only benefit when a booking is successful?
  21. I had $5 in bonus cash so I thought I'd try for the recently won price of $40 for a 2.5* Flint area hotel. Hotwire currently shows that date as $53 for a 2.5*. There is time so I am not disappointed. Just wanted to see if I could use my bonus bucks. I tried to activate my bonus cash and then go through the Better Bidding link but my cash didn't show up unless I went directly from the email.
  22. I started bidding last week, first bid about $70 with Hollywood selected. I kept adding locations that didn't offer 4* hotels (Miramar, Ft Lauderdale Airport North, Ft. Lauderdale North, Pampano Beach, and Coral Springs) and offering more in $5 increments. I've also been watching the Hotwire price for Hollywood Beach 4* hotels. Hotwire was $143 until today when it jumped to $188. I went into panic mode and decided to start bidding in $10 increments. Last rejected was $120 and it hadn't been 24 hours so I added Coral Springs and bid $130 today and got it! I am thrilled! $130 + $5 travel insurance + $23.75 taxes = $158.75 total charges. I started with Betterbidding.com and selected my Priceline dates then went to my account to select my offer page.
  23. Amenities are Fitness Center, Business Center, Pool(s), Laundry Facilities, Restaurants(s), High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby. This is a very nice hotel. My room is newer, bed is so comfy, and I haven't heard a single soul. They gave me my Priority Club points and 15% off meals which I do not expect when I book through Hotwire. I will definately stay here again!! Internet is free, and shopping is very close.
  24. Have a cancelable reservation there for $138 but the morning of arrival (today) I tried the HOTWIRE search (was $78 yesterday morning and $84 last night). My price on Hotwire for the Holiday Inn was $78.28 with tax, and I have until 6 pm tonight to cancel my existing reservation (in case I need 2 rooms). We are moving my son to Ferris. I also had a Priceline bid going for a 2 1/2* but it was recommending $59 (after I tried $38 and $44). I thought $65 was a good price for a 3*, and I am happy with my deal. I always use the betterbidding HOTWIRE link, but this morning I had so many browsers open with the different ways I was checking that I don't think I was actually using the link at the time of booking. Love this site!
