  1. Sorry! Didn't realize I had so much cleaning up to do. All of those posts are now taken care of. Any ideas on St lucia? Thanks!
  2. I did book this through the HOTWIRE link on better bidding and it was, in fact, the Holiday Inn Express. Thanks!
  3. I ended up booking directly at the Stratosphere instead of using PRICELINE for this trip. Thanks.
  4. I ended up booking directly with the Element Hotel in the DFW area. The rate equal to your age deal was a good choice!
  5. Just by doing some homework, my GUESS is that it could be Discovery at Marigot Bay? The thing that's really throwing me is the "near beach" instead of being on the beach. I can't figure it out.
  6. I am trying for December 28-Dec 30, 2012 in St Lucia. I searched "UVF" for the airport and I see one 4-star property listed on hotwire. It has: resort, near beach, pool, resturant, business center, laundry, internet, golf, and tennis listed as amenities. The price is $111 per night and has a 4.0 out of 5.0 rating on trip advisor. Can anyone help me narrow it down? Thanks!
  7. I may have answered my own question after a bit more searching... Hotwire Hotel Sacramento Think this is the same place? Holiday inn Express?
  8. This one really has me stumped. I'm looking for a hotel in this area of Sacramento and it's listed as $53 for Friday Sept 6th. It's for one night and is recommended in 95% of hotwire reviews. Amenities Breakfast, Fitness, pool, business, laundry, internet, golf The thing that's stumping me is that hotwire says this hotel typically charges a resort fee? What? I can't imagine a hotel with 3 stars in this area charging a resort fee. Are there any chain hotels out there now that are charging this? My best guesses (aside from resort fee) are Hyatt Place, Staybridge Suites, Residence Inn, and a few others like that in this area. Thanks for the help!
  9. Yes, I believe the Westin would be fine. I could get on the monorail if need be at Flamingo.
  10. No I understand, I've done hotwire and priceline though this board many times. I'm ready to go! Want to keep it cheap in those orders... in other words, but the first choice up to $60 a night or so... then go to choice two... etc... makes sense in my head. Does not mean it translates to others well. Ha!
  11. Thanks for the tip about the Tropicana. We've stayed in Vegas many times so honestly we know what to expect from the city. For this ventue if I had to decide right now the proximity to MGM would be the most important thing to me. 1st choice- stay near MGM grand for cheap. 2nd choice- stay on monorail line for cheap 3rd choice- stay downtown for two nights for cheap and use savings to move closer to MGM for the weekend.
  12. The $80 a night at the Luxor is NOT including tax or resort fee. And as for how close we need to be? I'd love to be able to walk or take a short cab ride. But my other option is to be at a hotel away from MGM that's directly on the monorail stop. Hilton? Basically trying to find out where to start. Thanks!
  13. I'm looking to stay near the MGM Grand for those specific dates. I don't have a problem splitting my stay but wonder if the weekdays will bring down my daily average. Would like to keep bid "after tax" under $80 a night if possible. Looking at places on strip like Luxor and Monte Carlo. East of Strip the Hard Rock Hotel looks great but I am afraid of getting SouthPoint casino. I've also looked at booking directly at Hooters Casino but that's a little shabby for my taste (unless someone can prove me wrong) Anyone want to take a shot at the best course of action to keep rates low but still stay semi-close to the action at MGM Grand? I've even considered staying the first two nights at Golden Nugget on Freemont and then moving down the strip for the weekend. Hope all of this is not too vague. My main concern is keeping it under $80 after tax because right now I can book Luxor at $80 for the entire stay. Thanks for all the help!
  14. I'm putting in hotwire for July 1-4th. One room. I see a 4-star in Arlington - Grand Prairie area, for $63 a night. It's listed with nonsmoking, fitness, resturant, and pool. Anyone have any idea? I don't see it listed on the hotel list and I couldn't even find a four star listed in that area on Expedia. ALSO lists 3.5-5 on Trip Advisor. Thanks for the help!
  15. On hotwire, I wasn't real sure which property this was. Normally the Hyatt Place will have "smoke free" and other aminities listed. This time just pool, breakfast, internet, and fitness. Turns out to be a great deal on a property i've enjoyed many times before. 3 rooms for 3 nights. Dec 30-Jan 2
  16. I'm looking at this exact one. Looking to pull the trigger at $79 a night. Seems to fit the description of: SpringHill Suites by Marriott Pigeon Forge. I REALLY hope that's what it is.... I'll let you know if I book it.
  17. Hoping to get in 3.5* for 4th of July in Fisherman's Wharf. No luck on multiple attempts up to $110. HOTWIRE is listing those dates at $159. I could be bidding too far out, but I wanted to lock something in because of the holiday. HOTWIRE is listing 3* at $77 for those dates so I bid on PRICELINE for $60 and it was accepted. Guess I could have gone a bit lower, but I'm happy with this property for those dates. Should be a holiday to remember with family! Looks like there are plenty of dining options nearby and I can park the rental car and walk everywhere. I know, $40 is a ton to pay per night of parking... but it is what it is in SFO. Thanks board!
  18. Please help me if you can. :) I am attending something that's going on at the MGM during these dates but I can't stay at the MGM. Anyone have any suggestions on how to stay close for under $100 a night and not stay in a "dump". I'm not VERY picky, but if I'm going to vegas I want to stay in "vegas". Make sense? I've been a few times before and have gotten great deals at Venetian, Monte Carlo, and Wynn. But, this was with my wife and not for work so that's why I'm not so concerned with where to stay. Is it worth it to bid on strip south and risk Luxor? How bad is it anyway? i'm also not sure about Circus Circus or Flamingo. Thoughts? Basically I think I'll be able to either have a car or take a cab during the stay so I'm not against staying away from MGM. Bottom line, what's the better option.... stay near the MGM no matter what... or "bus in" everyday? Thanks!
  19. Thanks for the advice. That's good to know. My thinking is that since my wife wants to visit the resturants and everything that is in the FW area we would want to stay close to the FW area. We'll have a car so I might as well park it at the hotel and leave it for those days. Do you remember if there were in and out privlidges at the Holiday Inn? We'll want to drive to the golden gate and such. I have been to San Fran just once before and was amazed at how "small" the area was. Parking cheaper in other zones? Street car may be the way to go!
  20. Hey board! You guys have been a blessing in the past helping me in past trips. My wife and I will be in San Francisco the night of June 30 and then the nights of July 3 and July 4. She really wants to stay in Fisherman's Wharf area so we can park our car and go eat at the nice resturants downtown near the water. Any advice? I'd surely be happy with any of the 3.5 starts in FW but I have mixed reviews on the 3* property. Most likely it would be the Holiday Inn which I'm not really sold on. I've bid all the way up to $90 for each night. But, by using the calendar for priceline for 2009 around 4th of July I was seeing the 3.5* go for under $100 for sure. Think I'm bidding too far out? I see on HOTWIRE where the holiday inn in FW is showing for around $76. Thanks for any advice!
  21. I think I did alright. I must say i'm a priceline snob and don't like to pay over $100 a night unless it's Vegas! Ha! I will be traveling to wine country for the first time and everyone has told me how expensive it is... especially on weekends. We will be up there over the 4th of July holiday. This part of our stay is July 1-3rd. (Thursday-Saturday). Now we are looking for something in san francisco for that weekend. Any advice? Thanks!
  22. Well, I don't know if this has been discussed before or if it even happens alot.... but after calling priceline to let them know the situation they were very good to me and offered a $10 per night coupon for up to five nights on my next name your own bid reservation. Pretty nice of them. Thumbs up!
  23. Had to extend a long weekend due to bad weather and wasn't able to get anything within reason on 4* bidding on priceline for Jan 30th. Saw 3.5 star listed for $63 in downtown Nashville with four aminities posted. I believe it was fitness, resturant, internet, and laundry. Great place to stay. Huge rooms and nice staff.
  24. Wasn't able to use this room due to bad weather but still thought it was a good deal when i booked it. Used links and bit $50 first with rebid of knoxville east zone up to $55.
