I just booked this through HOTWIRE and it is in fact the Sheraton Maui hotel - 4* Kaanapali area. (10/12/12 - 10/14/12) The hotwire rate was $143 for this time. After reading this priceline hotel post, I wished I had tried PRICELINE first, but oh well. The rate is still about 1/2 price for the 3 resort hotels in that area. I would like to stay at the intercontinental (Willard) (or another similar hotel in that area if anyone has advice) which is close to the major sites etc. The dates for my travel are 12/3/08 to 12/7/08. I wanted to know how I should bid in order to get the Intercontinental? Should I start bidding at $120-130 or if I start at $100 will I likely get another hotel? Thanks.

Just wanted to give an update on this bid. We returned from our vacation and thought the Hilton was ok. Not sure why this gets a 'resort' classification, other than this hotel's proximity to the theme parks there was nothing too special about it. However, on this same trip we spent 2 nights at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress - we booked this also through priceline for $90/night (October 9-11). We highly, highly recommend this hotel - excellent amenities, great pool. Well worth the money.
