  1. both HI Express or Hampton Inn seems to be pretty good choice (value if you don't want to gamble)
  2. 2.5-star hotel in Henderson - SE Las Vegas $55 Tripadvisor 4,5 based on 20+ customer reviews (Last reviewed August 2008) Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access could be HI Express Henderson? Sounds like good deal. cheapest rate in ICHotels: $139 what do you think?
  3. I understood that HOTWIRE and Expedia belong together somehow?
  4. @thereyouare: my cedar city experience is for priceline not howire - my forum entry for cedar City is correct :)
  5. this hotwire search (not bought yet) was for 09/27-09/28/08, price $55
  6. days of stay 09/26/-09/27/08 be aware and don't bid in PRICELINE below the hotel prices shown oin the "normal" priceline hotel booking site. I got cheated as the total is more expensive than pay-at -hotel full flexible and much more expensive than AAA Rate at this hotel
  7. 3* near South Strip Tripadvisor: 4.0 out of 5 Based on 40+ customer reviews (Last reviewed September 2008) Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby I tried to find it via Tripadvisor as not so many with 40+ reviews, september and 3* on Expedia (I suppose that the classification is in hotwire as in exepedia as hotwire is subsidary of Expedia?) Thanks!!!
  8. I made a $55 bid for 2* hotel (marked as "best deal")in Cedar City and got the DaysInn Cedar City :) 1. on Expedia it's a 1,5 Star 2. priceline not "name your price" shows $59 so only $4 savings (7%) Called priceline customer service and asked for 100% refund. Don't ask how much it cost to call from Germany, waiting 10min in waiting queue and then discussing wiht a well training woman about priceline rules, customer service and refunds. no sucess!! At the end I found that AAA rate on the Hotel website would have been cheaper but this doesn't count for their "price guarantee" (as usual with most of similar "guarantees". F... them, I'm really pissed with this bad customer service. I understand that they can't accept every call about refund but here it's obvious that there is somehting wrong as the deal is only 7% and even more expensive than the full flexible free market price!! Any experiences if it's worth to keep on pushing or just got to the DayInn and eat all their breakfast to make it a good deal? :)
  9. I don't understand why HOTWIRE shows Days Inn as 2stars officially and then sell these hotels as 2,5* Is this new and accepteble? They should at least change their Classification they tell us what is a chain for 2 and 2.5 stars???
  10. Started yesterday with $79 for 3* and only region "Sedona". Bid rejected but "resorts" were included. They asked me to add $22 and I got a free re-bid. However I added added 2,5* and went down to $69, rejected, added 2 stars for $65, rejected My girlfriend bid with $85 - rejected After having booked BW Cottonwoods for total of $100 I decided to give PRICELINE folks a last chance: $99 and only "resort" and got it! official rate $200 plus tax :) As the Hilton Sedona Resort And Spa wasn't offered anymore for long time (at least no new threads) I think it's a good deal! (and better than the Raddisson)
  11. Drury Inn and Suites $75 09/21/08 - 09/23/08 This Hotel features the following amenities: Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access (=free) plus: free evening drinks and snack check their homepage for details
  12. it looks like this hotel is the correct deal for the 2,5* $89..... they gave me the DaysInn and called it 2,5*
  13. I bought for 09/23/08 to 09/24/08 a 2,5* Hotel in Sedona as "best value" and "lowest price guaranteed" with "free breakfast" and "pool" and got the Days Inn Sedona :) 1. Days Inn is categorized by Hotwire as "economy" 2 Stars but they sell it to me as 2,5*? 2. total rate was $98.88 at hotwire but the hotel homepage $100,24 !!! Hotwire tried to cheat us? $2 savings and you can't cancel the room anymore? I called them and the offered me 25 USD for my next bookings or a 100% refund after some discussion (she didn't want to understand that they sell a 2,5* I took the refund and will be more carefull next time!! Fight for your right guys!!
  14. I suppose it's same as all hotel brokers: they buy a contigent for specific price and sell acc. to demand.... However end of September 2008 they offer it (?) for $69 Still Hotwire and priceline tells you that they add "their fee" to the "taxes and fee" added to the price shown.
  15. only "3 stars" offered by Priceline is "Stratford Court Hotel" which seems to be a 2* only.... I think I'll stay with the 2008 opened Comfort for $79 booked on ChoiceHotels page
  16. any idea which hotels are offered by priceline in Cedar City? Thanks
  17. most likely it depends on what you are willing to pay? Generally I'd say that priceline and Hotwire (I'm also new in this "business") mainly offer "unsold" rooms of big chains and they are usually next the highway or big streets (hotel streets 1 next to each other). The cozy B&B style hotels are expensive and usually don't join the priceline game BTW: I got the Fountaingrove Inn in Santa Rosa for $79
  18. This is a new entry for your Hotel list: Priceline didn't show me the Santa Maria as own area when "moving" with my mouse on the priceline map but when you search hotels for Santa Maria you can "name your price". As hotwire had similar hotel (here it seems to be 2*?) I gave Priceline a chance and won $75 with first bid. Hotelhomepage: $117 (35%off)
  19. $95 won for 10/06/08-10/07/08 AAA-Rate $179 Hyatt Regency Monterey Resort & Spa On Del Monte Golf Course The Hyatt Regency Monterey Resort & Spa on Del Monte Golf Course has recently completed a $60 million transformation. We also have a new Regency Club, Stayfit at Hyatt health club and opening in December 2008, a tranquil and relaxing 12,000 sq. ft. spa. maybe we'll get the old rooms (if remain?)

  21. Hotel Amenities: Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Customer Reviews 3.5 last reviewed Aug 2008 (actually September 2008) Official rate $121 and #1 in Concord at Tripadvisor.com... let's see :)
  22. first bid $75 won Renaissance Agoura Hills Will cancel the Hyatt Westlake Plaza which we had booked with BF for $119 AAA Rate, but the reviews (also for the BF) were not the best, so I decided to give PRICELINE a chance. Hope the Renaissance is better place?
