  1. The issue with hotel rooms in Boston on the maraton weekend is that most running clubs book off a few rooms for their clubs. Small clubs may only have one room, larger have 10 or more. Hotel occupancy is at nearly 100% for that weekend, so if you're finding anything available now, book now either by priceline or any other means. :)
  2. I believe there is complimentary shuttle service to the terminals. From their website, under directions (to the hotel) it lists: From Logan International Airport (adjacent to hotel): Please use courtesy telephones in all baggage claim areas to contact hotel for 24-hour complimentary hotel transportation. So one would guess that the reverse is true.
  3. Stayed one night at $105 (had 2 rooms). All I can say is WHAT A BARGAIN! I really felt that I got more than my money's worth. Initially I was concerned that the location of this would be out of the way from the action, but the hotel is located just far enough out of times square to make the streets less congested and quieter but still within VERY easy walking distance to the very center of Times Square , Rockefeller Center, Radio City, Central Park even. (Very easy means with 2 kids and their grandparents - not the quickest bunch) , The hotel is located on 7th and 52/53rd, which is one tiny block off Broadway. Subways are conveniently located all around, many different lines as well. Restaurants are plentiful. The hotel itself is very nice. The lobby looked very clean and upscale. The receiption desk was pleasant and quick and easily accomodated our request for double beds and rooms near each other. We were able to check in at 12:00noon, as well. No mention of priceline was made. (Though at checkout, the bill slipped under the door did say "priceline") We were on the 28th floor and I'm going to guess that this was a former smoking floor as it did seem a bit stale. The hallways could have used some vacuuming, but I'm not that picky. The room was nice, clean, but small. The double beds were TINY but extremely comfortable. And with 2 beds in the room there was very little room to walk around. But what the room lacked in size it made up for in cleanliness. The closet was large enough to stow all our bags. The bathroom, while also small-ish, was very clean and well appointed. The biggest issue, is that they've installed countertop/desks along the along the windowed wall. It completely covers the air conditioning unit, which is located underneath, though there is a vent in the top of the counter, but it makes air circulation very difficult. We propped up the vent on the desk and that made it better. The 2nd room had no such trouble. On the 2nd day of our trip we left our bags after checkout in their special 'luggage' room - for $3.00 a bag! Don't know if this is a new trend for hotels or what, but I was a bit surprised. But still convenient. Overall, I was quite happy with my stay there. I would never have a problem if this hotel came up for me again in another bid, and I would certainly recommend it to anyone.
  4. Thanks. I'm going to go post my review. I don't believe has been a review for this hotel here yet. Initially, when I mapped out all the locations of possible mtw hotels this one was not right in Times Square, it was about 5 blocks north - but it sits on the upper edge of times square and is right around the corner from David Letterman, 2 blocks from Radio City, A few more to Rock Center. It just looked out of the way on the map, but really isn't. :)
  5. Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers $105. Very happy with my winning bid. I really only wanted to stay in MTW and this was the hotel I thought I'd be least happy to get but really it was perfect. If you map out all the MTW hotels this looks like its out of the way but its really really not.
  6. Thanks for the nice reply....so you mean we can actually ask questions here and no one will yell at us?? :)
  7. first, it took me a good long while to even find the priceline TOU... anyway, I was informed by TOBB in a not so nice private message from their mod, the owner I think, that I had somehow violated priceline's tou by having multiple parties bidding. It was my first time ever using priceline and I still don't know if I completely understand the 'free re-bid' thing. I asked and was simply referred to the FAQ for that board, which doesn't really explain it in normal language for a newbie to understand. So, anyway, here's what I did - is this bad? We've got a group going and are getting multiple rooms. One of us bid first (me ) as had the bid rejected. Another bid a bit higher and was rejected. The 3rd one of us bid and got accepted. I think this is fine as we all three were getting 3 separate rooms, each paying for our own room. How on earth does this violate anything? Anyway, I tried to ask the mod again how this violates antyhing and if I could get a better explanation of free rebidding and she just blew me off with her snippy "you need to read the faq before doing anything". So, for further reference, do you all think its a violation?
