  1. This is a great hotel! Easy to reach from DC by either car or Metro. The lobby is big, check-in usually smooth. My wife is a HH member, so they gave us a room on the HH VIP floor. The rooms there are fantastic. We were given a Double. Very comfy beds with lots of pillows. The bathroom is a bit small but you'll get used to it. The amenities are from Neutrogena which is a nice brand, we just loved them. The highlight is the revolving bar on the top floor. There you get a fantastic 360
  2. Just needed a room for an overnight and checked out how low I could go for a 4* at LAX. Turned out to be pretty low: Started with $60 at LAX, declined with a counter offer of $ 17 Increased to $ 62 added Redondo, declined with the same counter offer Increased to $ 63 added Lawndale, declined again with a counter offer of $ 17 Increased to $ 64 added Culver City, accepted! This is about a 50 % discount to the listed price of $ 139 at Marriott.com
  3. Hi thereuare I booked the Spruce Lodge B&B through BetterChecker -> Hotels.com (Expedia's 50 $ gas card wouldn't have worked for me as a non-US citizen). Got it for CHF 227 (approximately $ 217). I hope, I can add another good review :) !
  4. Can't see my reservation on La Quinta I can see all my other Priceline wins on the appropriate websites (Doubletree, Marriott) but not the one for La Quinta. Should I worry about it?
  5. Hi Folks I just need one more hotel to finalize my holiday (won already in Washington DC, Boston and Secaucus, NJ). This looks to be a tricky one: Lake Placid, NY, 9/9/08-9/12/08. Bid many times up to $ 100 for 2* and 3* without success. Hotwire has only a 3* available for now $ 203 (was $ 186 about a week ago) which seems to be the Crown Plaza. I just don't want to spend a lot of $$$ there, maybe $60-$70. Any recommendations? BTW, I don't really like to split my booking... Thanks a lot! Michael
  6. Hi 'dahammer'! Thanks for your infos, I feel much better about my win now! Free parking AND breakfast is really great, beats the location IMO. I'm sure, we'll have a good time then!
  7. Probably not the best deal, and for sure not exactly the Hotel I wished to get
  8. In previous posts I was looking for a 4* hotel in Boston. After further research, I was happy to bid for a 3* Hotel because most of them get good reviews on TripAdvisor. So, here's my bidding history: - First, I bid up to $100 for a 4* Hotel in all areas except Logan-Airport, all rejected - Then started my bid with $60 for Copley Square 4* and 3*, rejected - increased my bid to $67, added Financial District, rejected - increased my bid to $75, added Waterfront, accepted at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront. I'm happy with this result! Thanks for BetterBidding, always great advise! Of course, I used the Priceline Link here! Michael
  9. Thanks for the coupon code, it might become handy! I'm not sure if I can book this for just 1 person because I'm travelling with my wife :)
  10. AaronJB, are you using a coupon code to get these rates on Orbitz & Expedia? Because I did the hotel search and got a $ 167 rate on both Orbitz & Expedia for my dates.
  11. Hi all I'm looking for a 4* in Boston 9/12-9/14. It might be a bit too early to bid up to $ 150 on Priceline, so I searched on Hotwire and found $ 152 4* in Cambridge with this amenities: - Fitness Center - High speed Internet - Spa - Restaurant - indoor Pool - business Center With the 120+, 4/5 TripAdvisor reviews and the Spa I would identify this as the Royal Sonesta. Am I right? Would this be a really good deal? $ 150 would be the maximum budget for me ($ 152 would be just marginally over). What would be your suggestions? Thanks a lot! Michael
  12. Hi! A real newbie; I entered $60 as my first bid which got accepted instantly. At the time of bidding, the cheapest direct rate was something over $150, as of today it dropped to $109.65. After taxes & fees it's still a $148.12 saving. Thanks to BB, too. Great insights and tips! Michael PS Now I'm looking forward to stays in BOS (9/12-14) and NYC/NJ (9/14-17), expecting to pay $80-110.
