  1. I stayed at the Hotel Whitcomb twice last year (for $55 per night via Priceline) during the SF offseason. I has VERY happy with everything! The things I liked most about it: The Bart/Muni entrance is literally right outside the door. So if you need to use public transportation, it couldn't be more convenient! There is a Starbucks connected to the Hotel. I appreciated the FREE wireless internet service that they provided. (get your user info/password at the front desk) And The Cable Car Turnaround is only 3 blocks (or 1 Muni stop) away! FYI - You probably won't get a room with a nice street view but thats the price you pay for using priceline. Both stays I was given a room with a view of a brick wall. I'm visiting SF again in August. I really wanted to stay at the Whitcomb but I'm going during a busy week for them. Their room rates are very high 2 of the 3 nights I'm in town. Even still, I purposely went after the Whitcomb on the 1 night rates are lower (luckily there are only two 2 1/2 star hotels in the Civic Center area on PL) on Priceline. I overpaid ($95) but I didn't really care - its a great hotel! I hope you enjoy your stay. If its anything like my previous visits there, I think you'll be quite pleased!
