  1. I used Hot.wire (your link) after a failing bid at Price.line. I won the LA Hotel Downtown for $129. The amenties listed were • Smoke-free rooms • Fitness center • Pool(s) • Restaurant(s) • Business center • Internet access Accessibility • Accessible for hearing impaired • Accessible path of travel • In-room accessibility 100% recommended I was hoping for the Westin Bonaventure since I am booked there the two nights previous. We will see how it goes! Barb
  2. The amenities stated were as follows: free parking, casino, airport shuttle, fitness, business center, pool, spa, restaurants.
  3. The amenities were listed as follows for the Holiday Express Hotel & Suites Northeast Chowchilla, CA: Smoke free rooms, complimentary breakfast, fitness center, pool(s), business center, laundry facilities, high speed internet access, golf nearby
  4. I have to take my son to UC Merced Orientation. I checked online the prices and reviews of hotels in Merced. The best was the Holiday Inn Express in Merced for $109. I couldn't figure out from Hotwire what the hotels were for Merced, but the 2 1/2 star didn't really line up with Holiday Express Merced...and other reviews were less than optimal (and most were dismal). Anyhow, Hotwire listed Chowchilla, 20 miles away, and gave the amenities---breakfast, biz, golf, laundry etc. It HAD to be the Holiday Inn Express just by being three stars. Anyhow, I was right. I got it for $57 on July 15. That's a much better price than the $109 in Merced, and Chowchilla has a 90% recommendation from people who have stayed. I did use your HOTWIRE link up top. Thanks for the service.
  5. After scavenging the boards for wins, I was sure that the description for a 4.5 Star hotel for $48.00 on Thursday June 24th was The Summit at Grand Sierra. I was correct! It was in the section of Reno for Airport (southern tail on map). The amenities included: Resort, Casino, Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pools, Restaurants, Business Center, Laundry Facilities, high speed internet, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby, Spa Services, Children's Activity Program. The resort charge is an extra $15. Now to figure Friday---where and how much.... And I do use you links up top for both my losing Priceline bids from yesterday (trying to get Harvey's) and today's winning Hotwire. Thank you for this service! :)
  6. I tried the same bid for a Thursday and Friday and lost.
  7. Harrah's was described with the following amenities: Resort, Casino, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurants, Business Center, Golf Nearby, and Spa (in that order). It was also voted favorite, best deal. I made the bid on June 18th. I saw that the rates increased today on their own site. Their own site had the second best deal, with $ 129 and $139. I paid $89 for each night, with a total of $200.61 with taxes and fees. The other "lower" total prices were Orbitz and Cheaptickets @ $302.68. I was 90% certain that I was bidding on Harrah's because of this site---so a BIG THANK YOU to the webmaster/creator and the good people who provide information. You might find this exchange with Harrah's interesting. I emailed them yesterday with concerns about being an opaque provider. I'm rather pleased by their forthright response. Here was my question: Since this Harrah's participates in opaque sales, such as Hotwire, I would like to know if the rooms you dedicate are nonsmoking. Also, hotels seem to have two attitudes toward Hotwire/Priceline users: A) treat them the same as any customer because you want repeat business (which would be important in your case, since we go to casinos often...but this is the first Tahoe time) or B) dump second-rate rooms...near construction, refurbishing, bad views. I know this is an odd question, but I appreciate your time in responding. Here is the response: Thank you for your interest in Harrah's and Harveys Lake Tahoe. Companies like Hotwire purchase a block of room nights in different room types and pricing. The are not specific room numbers, floors etc. Rooms are normally assigned the day of arrival and often not until the guest actually arrives. The location of your room is determined by a number of factors such as the day of the week, time of day you are arriving, number of nights you are staying - not by whether you reserved directly from us or through a third party. Also, no matter who you make your reservation through, we do not guarantee smoking or non-smoking. We will make every effort to fulfill your preference requests; however they are not guaranteed, as rooms are assigned at check-in. Please check the "hot deals" and special packages available on the web site. Often these rates are better than what Hotwire may offer. We hope you have the opportunity to visit us in the near future.
