  1. Hi - Was bidding a resort. Tried $130 and rejected, added Kona as the rebid zone, tried $140 and was accepted. Other traveling party in our group got the same hotel on Expedia for $180, so we saved about $40 using priceline. I had been hoping for the Resort Prince Mauna Kea, but the Sheraton looks like a good one too. Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa Kona 78128 Ehukai Street Kailua Kona, Hawaii 96740 808-930-4900 Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $140.00 Subtotal: $140.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $25.55 Total Charges*: $165.55
  2. Got this on the first bid. Wanted downtown - tried up to $70 for downtown 3* without being accepted. A bit concerned about the Sheraton property given some reviews, but the price is right. Your Offer Price: $33.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $99.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $21.10 Total Charges: $120.10
  3. Oops - looking at my email, my dates don't make much sense! I am looking for April 29 - May 1. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!
  4. Hi, I am looking for some advice on a long weekend trip to NYC. I have a cancellable back-up hotel position at the Chelsea Sheraton Four Points at $209. I was originally interested in MTW area and have been bidding on a 4* in MTW over the last few weeks. I have bid up to $185 with no takers. I have a feeling that it will take $200+ to get a room in MTW. So I am thinking I will stay with the Chelsea back-up - at least I know what I am getting. I sense that these are two totally different parts of the city, From what I can tell, Chelsea is a bit more hip and less touristy, while MTW area is more the ultimate tourist area. Both look interesting to me. It will be my first time to NYC so it will all be new and different. Questions: 1) Will I have trouble getting to Chelsea from JKF? and once in Chelsea is the subway fairly convenient to get to other spots in the city? or is that area rather out of the way? 2) Is Chelsea included in one of the priceline NYC zones? I have tried Hotwire, but they do not show any availability for the Chelsea district. I have used priceline and your site for many trips and it has always been very helpful! I appreciate all the work that goes into it. Lynn
  5. Hi, I was looking for two nights in Vancouver (Fri & Sat). Started out bidding at $55, then went to $65, then $70. Perhaps the correct price was somewhere between $65 and $70, but I am happy. Price on the Hyatt website was $259 canadian ($209 US) Your Offer Price: $70.00 (US dollars) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $140.00 (US dollars) Taxes & Service Fees: $23.81 (US dollars) Total Charges: $163.81 (US dollars
  6. We stayed at this hotel for two nights in July, 2004, during a London Heat Wave. We also stayed two nights at the Millenium Mayfair, for more money, and the Holiday Inn was much nicer. If we go back to London, I would gladly stay in this hotel for the entire trip. The room was sparkling clean, with a nice view of London (26th floor), and an air conditioner that worked flawlessly. The room had a queen size bed, with a desk, two nightstands and an armchair. Perfect for gazing out at the London view. The bathroom is small, but very well equipped with good hot water and pressure. We checked in early, 9 am, and there was no room available. They offered an upgrade for 25 pounds, but we declined, and they said a room would be available by two pm. At two pm, we came back and our room was ready as promised. The location is very convenient - with the tube stop just down the street. There are some cafes and restaurants nearby - where you can get morning coffee and breakfast. The hotel seemed to be frequented by some large toursit groups and airline crews - not a big deal, but they did tend to clog up the lobby at times.
  7. We stayed at this hotel on July 4, 2004. We checked in early, right around noon, without any problems and the service was very nice. The rooms are a little worn in places and the bathroom is not very deluxe - but overall a good experience. The location is fantastic - cable cars right outside and the vintage "F" Market train that goes to Fisherman's wharf and the Castro district are also right there. We got a room with a balcony and a view of the bay and city! We just asked at the front desk if they had any water views available. I would happily stay there again.
  8. Got the 3*Francis Hotel in Bath for one night, 8/4, for $81. Did this over a week or so, starting bidding at 50 then started going up: was rejected at 65 and 75 - finally bid 81. I am pretty happy with the price - given how bad the exchange rate currently is and August can be peak season. Expedia was pricing this hotel at $146.
  9. We stayed at this hotel June 2004, for one night. It was a very nice, old, elegant hotel. Everyone was very nice to us - the front desk staff, the doorman, the restaurant staff. When we checked in there was free tea and cookies, we went to the free wine tasting in the early evening, and listened to jazz in the lounge later that night. Coffee and newspapers in the lobby in the morning. All that said - Our room was small. It had all of the goodies mentioned in the post above, - just not much square footage. I am sure we got one of the smaller rooms in the building as it looked like a wedding had booked out most of the hotel. If we had paid full price we would have been disappointed in the room size. We did not ask for an upgrade though - so perhaps we could have gotten a bigger room. . . . One thing to point out - the parking (valet) is expensive at this hotel. We parked in a self park around the corner and saved quite a bit.
  10. Bid $75 for a four star in Kensington or Mayfair, got the Holiday Inn South Forum. July 31 and Aug 1, 2004 2 nights Guess I could've gotten it a bit cheaper, since they took it on the first bid.
  11. Bid for 4* at 50, 55, 65, and won at 70. Rebid using non 4* zones. Please note this is for Fourth of July, so I am not sure if that made a difference. Hyatt Regency San Francisco Embarcadero Center July 4, 2004 - 1 night Your offer price $70 Taxes/Fees: 15.91 Total Charges: 85.91
