  1. I just tried it using the Wilmington, Delaware example...it works for me! Thanks a lot!
  2. Recently I was looking for a hotel in Wilmington, Delaware. I did a quick search and got a list of postings of Wilmington, Delaware with Wilmington, North Carolina mixed in. It won't allow me to do a search of "Wilmington, De" since the Quick Search only accepts the city name. If you do a search of Portland, you get Portland, Maine and Portland, Oregon mixed together. If you search for Springfield, you get Springfields in at least five states mixed together. Is there anyway you can filter by state as well for duplicate city names?
  3. Looking for 2.5* in San Antonio Northwest or Medical Center East, Northeast, and South have no 2.5*'s (free rebids) Bid $46 Northwest, Medical Center - rejected Bid $48 Northwest, Medical Center, East - rejected Bid $50 Northwest, Medical Center, East, Northeast - rejected Bid $52 Northwest, Medical Center, East, Northeast, South - accepted
  4. 7/24/08 - 7/25/08 I was bidding for 2.5* but was upgraded to 3* Bid $60 SFO - rejected. Bid $62 SFO + South - rejected (P/L offered a free rebid of $79; I didn't take the bait). Bid $66 SFO + South + Lombard (No 2.5*'s) - rejected. Bid $69 SFO + South + Lombard + FW - accepted. Total Price $69 + $17.47 taxes & fees = $86.47. Expedia ranks this property as 3.5* and charges minimum of $152.10 + $16.33 = $168.33 total. Yes, I did use the PRICELINE link on this forum!
  5. If someone follows the above strategy, wouldn't the $90 offer be rejected as a duplicate bid if done within a 24 hour period? At that point, it appears all the zones have already been bid on for 4* hotels for the desired dates. Or does P/L accept the bid since the zones are thrown together in a different combination?
  6. Extended Stay Deluxe Colonnade Amenities: fitness, pool, laundry, internet. Priced at $100 mimimum on Expedia. Please add to Texas Hotwire Hotel List.
  7. At the very least, I would certainly change the backup plan. You can get a room at the 3.5 star Hilton San Antonio Airport-Northstar for $94 a night on Expedia with the WB06 promo code. I realize it is out of your area, but even the Motel 6 is probably at least a mile from the Riverwalk and it's a far cry better than that. Even if you don't have a car, the Hilton has a free shuttle to the North Star Mall where they have frequent buses to the downtown/riverwalk area for a dollar. You can check out the bus schedule at http://www.viainfo.net/ . It is a nonrefundable rate so I would exhaust the other possiblities first.
  8. I notice that the Super 8 is only slightly more on their own website for those dates (89.95) and actually cheaper (80.96) if you quality for an AAA, Senior, or Government discount. Anyway, thanks for sharing the info with us and I hope you enjoy your stay.
  9. I see that the Pear Tree at the airport does offer a shuttle. Does HOTWIRE typically hide some amenities to keep us from guessing?
  10. Since there is no mention of a shuttle, I would assume this property is on the eastern or far northern fringes of the airport zone. It stretches up H281 up past H1604 where there is a cluster of hotels. There appear to be La Quinta, Quality, or Comfort properties that meet the criteria.
  11. I think that is the La Quinta SFO in South San Francisco. I paid the same price through Hotwire in February. Expedia traveler's opinions rate it 3.3 out of 5. I thought it was ok for the price and would probably stay there again.
