I was asked to post the listing. This was the Marriott Residence Inn in Stafford. Nice but pool is much smaller than in pictures.

The hotel is rated well on Tripadvisor and supposedly about 6 blocks from the Whitehouse. One reviewer commented: Only need to walk ONE single block west bound on Rhode Island Avenue, corner of P & 14th Street, you can take the DC Circular bus green line south bound ($1 per trip, use Smartrip card, free transfers within 3 hours), to McPherson Square for all other DC Circular bus lines or Metrobus or Metrorail to every major DC sightseeing sites, include Arlington Cemetery. Previous Tripadvisor reports of long walk from hotel to convenient transportation are false. Well, DC subway does not have much coverage for most hotels. Take the DC Circular here to reach Metrobus & Metrorail. Use WMATA Trip Planner web site to find how to use metroBus & metroRail routes.

Sorry, you're right...I reversed the "dots" designation. I checked the list of Tripadvisor hotels for Arlington and could not seem to match any hotel with the information.

Wow, I just checked and it was down to $74 for the same period (this is the peak holiday season for UK I understand).

I booked properly for 3 adults and one child so I shouldn't have to hide anything. I was just reading on Tripadvisor and the internet that some hotels will charge for the 3rd adult despite of the Hotwire confirmed booking. For this hotel, the HI website is listing a 20 pound charge (around $30) per day. I just don't want to go through the hassle with the hotel and Hotwire (does Hotwire have a UK number?). I also have the split booking situation (3 nights at $103 and 6 nights at $75). Hopefully, the hotel will just let me stay in the same room (or maybe I can request a change if I get a bad room--although we plan to arrive around 2 pm).

One of my daughters is 20 and thus is an adult. I check 2 adults for a comparison to other bookings, and then 2 a and 2 c (and then add the expected hotel charge for the additional adult). In the majority of cases, I found it cheaper to book the additional adult (provided there is not the snafu of the hotel also charging for the third adult, which I have read about in Tripadvisor).

I had been monitoring this for weeks at between $103 and $115 ($89 for 2 nights only Thursday and Friday). I usually do 2 adults, change to 2 adults and 2 child and then 3 adults and 1 child for stay between 8/13 and 8/22.
