Used the better bidding PRICELINE link. Denied at $95 - Asked if I wanted to resubmit at $114, said no and did a re-bid for $105 adding a zone without a 4 star... got the Westin for $105+Taxes... BTW, a couple of hours ago HOTWIRE gave me the choice of a 4* Downtown Detroit Hotel with the same amenities as the Westin for $123+taxes.

Ok, I ended up getting discouraged from all my failed priceline bids for a 3.5 star SoBe hotel. I used Hotwire to book what looks like the exact same hotel you described. After reading about SoBe on here the last couple days I learned to stay away from the 3* hotels (many are older properties and independently owned). Additionally, some will charge a resort fee and valet.

Stayed 9/28/2010 - 9/29/2010 Subtotal: $50.00 Taxes & Fees: $15.26 Total Charges*: $65.26 Tried as always for a 3* and up, using the lesser star areas to build my bids up without being able to change any dates (one night stay). All failed, had to go down to 2.5* and got this Holiday Inn for $50, checked for the best internet rate and they gave me $134 before taxes.
