  2. I requested 2 beds; selected a 2* with free parking, breakfast, wifi. for $85; with fees came to $105. Won SFO Days Inn 1550 El Camino Real, San Bruno
  3. Bid incrementally up to $77. Price.line offered a rebid asking for $92 which I did not respond to. I started a new bid at $79 and won this hotel for 3 nights. 3* Residence Inn by Marriott (Portland-Lloyds/Rose Quarter/Convention Center) $79 5/27-5/29/15 thanks for the info on this site!
  4. I bid for for two rooms, two nights, 2.5 * in Tempe North, using Apache Junction and Cave Creek as free rebid zones. I started at $48 , going up by $ 2. Success at $60/night rate ( won on 3/13/15 ) for 3/31/15. Total 286. Red Lion Inn & Suites Phoenix/Tempe - ASU 1429 North Scottsdale Road, Tempe, AZ price on hotel site is 127/ night/room. Used Priceline links.
  5. Wanting a 3* in Sorrento Mesa, preferably Staybridge Suites or Country Inn, I bid starting at 50 for Sorrento Mesa. Then increased to 56 adding La Jolla, and 58 adding Coronoado. Any of those zones would be fine for me, but I did not expect to get them. Then added free rebid San Ysidro and got the Staybridge Suites for 59. I'm happy with this and the price includes free hot breakfast, wifi , kitchenette, and parking. BTW, upon my initial bid I received the response from Priceline to bid $67, but ignored it. List price for advance purchase on the hotel web site was $119 for those dates.
  6. I had been bidding for a few weeks, off an on, for a 3.5* or 4* hotel in the FQ for these dates, but did not get the hotels I see others had posted on this site. Today I bid $60 for a 3.5* in the FQ and received an offer from PL for $79. I declined that offer, tried bidding again, going up to $68, and then was successful at $70, with an upgrade to the 4* Hyatt French Quarter, 800 Iberville Street, New Orleans, LA. (price on the hotel website is $234)
  7. there are 2 Howard Johnson Motels in Flagstaff. Did you get the one on E. Lucky Ln. or the one on Rte 66? thanks
  8. I had been bidding for about a week for 2* San Diego, N County, hoping for Carlsbad. At $47 I got a response to bid $57. I waited and rebid at $49, then next day was successful at $50. I used Coronado to get 2 bids per day, as I knew it was almost impossible to get a 2* on Coronado Island at this rate ( and if I did that would have been fine) I used the PRICELINE link.
  9. 2.5*Albuquerque- Clubhouse Inn $40 3/28-3/31/10 Midtown uptown 2.5* Tried several bids, from $34 going up by $2 till success at $40. $40.00 1 room 3 nights $120.00 $24.21 $144.21 total
  10. Hi I have a trip planned for 6/9- 6/16 - preferably WH or CC-CH areas. I split my bid a few weeks ago and was able to get 6/12- 6/16 Metro Center Marriott for $60. However, I've been trying unsuccessfully every few days to get 6/9- 6/12 and have checked hotel availability; many hotels have no rooms available via their online booking for week days in early June- and some that do have rooms increased their rates quite a lot for weekdays. There may be a few conventions that are using most of the rooms in CC-CH. You might consider some of the outlying districts. I'm planning to do so, as it gets closer to my trip. Let us know if you have any luck getting the dates you need
  11. I had tried this same bidding strategy a few times over the last 2 weeks with no luck. Tried again today. Bid 3* $55 Downtown- rejected. Added Convention Center- Capital Hill $60. Accepted and upgraded to 3.5* 3.5* Convention Center- Capitol Hill; Mariott at Metro Center 6/12-6/16/09 4 nights @$60/nt. + fees
