:) Mixed feelings - happy I got it for $75 (on their website it is going for $199) but reading the reviews has me a little worried, but it is only for 1 night (post cruise before we fly home)

We love Bellevue and wanted to return to the Hyatt.... the last 4 times we stayed at 3.5* Sheraton and the Hilton... loved both but wanted to pay the extra for the Hyatt... very happy. P.S. Must tell this story... last month we bid and stayed at the Sheraton for $80 per night, while we were waiting on the Saturday for the shuttle, a young couple came in and asked the desk clerk if they had room and if so how much for a room... she replied "yes we do and the rate would be $279.00", well he started talking to his wife/girlfriend and she was replying "we cant afford that, and when I searched it was cheaper, what are we going to do ?", well I couldnt stand it... so I made my way over and excused myself "I couldnt help but overhear your conversation, and I can tell you we only paid $80 on priceline, have you thought of that?... " "nope they replied, and could I help them with that?" meanwhile my husband, said " omg, my wife will help you.,, just get over to the internet station there and try"...... YIKES I 've been put on the spot.... after talking to the couple they did not have a car, they arrived on the bus... only had to spend one night in Bellevue. and were moving on in the morning.... YIKES again..... so I logged on (as a guest) on the internet and walked him through.... told him to bid at the 3.5*, and told him it would either be the Sheraton (where we were) or next block down at the Hilton... he asked what he should bid and I think OMG, I dont know... they were tired and desperate just to crash... so I said since I got it for $80 a couple of weeks ago, try $95 and see what happens..... BINGO..... WHOO HOOO... it was accepted at the Sheraton and they started hugging and screaming and thanking me over and over again... saying "do you know how much this has helped us".... Made me/us feel great.... thanks Betterbidding/Priceline.... YOU ROCK !!

If you cant cancel your reservations, still stick with it and dont worry about it, we love the Hyatt Regency in bellevue, and it isnt that far at all to Seattle. We have stayed there 4 years in a row in December to do Christmas shopping, when I first tried, I wanted downtown Seattle and had no luck so added Bellevue and got the Hyatt and we would never think of going anywhere else. Just a little concellation thought!

Just to let you know I kept trying and never succeeded so it was great with the Hyatt at $169 - $50 gift certificate = $119, thanks everyone. Just got back and Bellevue Square is great with the the Snowflake Lane.... Merry Christmas!!

THanks WillTravel, we actually live in Yaletown, and he lives in False Creek, so everything is close.. and I will probably just give my new "daughter-in-law" my credit card and it should be good....

Thanks Colfax, I will do that, I am really frustrated, its the first time, that I cant understand why I cant successfully bid for a property that I can get for $15 more on hotwire.

Ok, I have gone as high as $120 and still get rejected, but I could go on Hotwire and get the same property for $135, should I keep trying or increase , I really didnt want to go any higher than $110 - $115....

This was my very first mistake using Priceline, I was in a hurry, tried first 4* in Vancouver, but I really wanted Surrey ( if you see my other post I got it), started at $63, rejected, tried 65$ in Surrey, rejected, went down to 3 * and tried $66 and sure enough it came back with Plaza 500 in Vancouver.... I know, I know.... but it was my first and hopefully my only error I will make :) ..... anyways not to worry, our son is getting engaged next month, so I will buy champagne, chocolates and give them the room for an engagement present ( I had to think of something !!) It still is a great price. Not right downtown but close enough.

I can get as low as $134 a night at the Bellevue Hyatt which is where we want to stay and I have been bidding up to $97 for several days but no luck... I am getting the feeling its harder to get and win on Priceline ... I have been doing better going straight to HOTWIRE... is it just me or is the new trend ? I find it harder and harder to get a really great rate on priceline the last year or so...... P.S. I dont want to really pay more than $110 on a 4* for that shopping weekend...
