First tried bidding 4* up to $74 in a number of zones such as costa mesa, irvine, newport, huntington, Disney South with no luck. Next bid $59 checking both Lake Forest and Laguna Hills. Got a counter offer of $68. Used a free bid to try $64 first and it was accepted. Thank you.

I was bidding on a 3 star hotel in this zone. Started with $55 and worked my way up in $5 increments with free bids. Ended up getting an upgrade to the Marriott which I did not want. Not I have to pay for parking and internet. I was trying to get the Doubletree Brownstone. Thanks

Hi, I have been trying to get the Doubletree Brownstone on HOTWIRE, Travelocity, or PRICELINE. First I tried on Priceline (with your BiddingHelper.com link) for the 25th and ended up getting upgraded to the 3.5* Marriott City Center. I did not want an upgrade and the associated nightly parking and internet charge. Oh well. Now Hotwire has a 3* hotel for $61 on April 26. It says the regular price is $129. It is not available the rest of the month. Amenities: Restaurant Laundry (self service) Fitness Center Pool It gets an 85% approval. Any thoughts on what hotel this is?

Was this hotel ever identified? I used to stay in the Holiday Inn Brownstone but it has renovated and changed to the Doubletree. I am wondering if this is the Doubletree or if it has been on Hotwire this year. Thanks.

My company normally stays at the Sheraton Downtown Dallas to be able to walk to our meetings. However, we are needing to save money and the $199 rate at Sheraton.com made it unaffordable. I looked into it and with your BB info, I felt pretty confident the 4* hotel avilable for $72 was the Sheraton. I booked 6 rooms, and indeed it was the sheraton. I am a hero at work thanks to BB! Started with a $55 bid for the 3.5* Downtown zone. Added another free rebid zone and a $60 bid. Added another free rebid zone @$62 which was accepted. Note, the hotel is almost complete with a complete remodel. I got a remodeled room and they are fantastic. Parking is $18. Of course i used your PRICELINE link.

Historically, the 2 star hotel in Goleta has been the Extended Stay America, but I haven't seen it mentioned lately. Hope this helps.

I will be in Columbia MO for two nights starting May 9. Hotwire has a 3* hotel for $64 (using one person in the search.) Any idea which hotel it is? There are no 3* hotels listed in Columbia on the pinned hotel list. I also tried looking at hotel plus car offers to see if I could find the hotel, but Hotwire has no car plus hotel offers for Columbia these days. Additional Info Amenities are Fitness Center, Pool, Business Center and High Speed Internet. The property is approved by 95% of hotwire customers. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

Not a bad deal for a 4* hotel but I have always gotten the Carolina Inn on past trips and really wanted it on this trip. Because of this I only bid on Thursday night even though I will be in town on Fri and Sat night as well. I guess I will drop down to 3.5* and try for the Sheraton Chapel Hill for those nights. It is nicer than the Sienna in my opinion. Had been trying earlier in the week all the way up to $58 with no luck and was staying at the Outlook for $69 (AARP) Tried one last time for my last night of the trip. Used free rebids to bid $52, $55, and $58 on 3.5* without luck. With no free rebids on the 3* zone, I started at $54 and it was accepted and used BB PRICELINE link. I have stay at the Millennium thru priceline (in the high $40's in past years). The hotel is nice but I dont know how they get $155/night on their website. It really is not that nice. The HOTWIRE hotel booked was the Ramada Columbia -- 2.5* for $42 plus tax and fees for $54.43 for one person. Breakfast, pool, internet are the three amenities.. You were right, HOTWIRE didnt care that Travelocity Top Secret was cheaper, since I couldnt prove it without buying it from Travelocity. I asked if i bought it from Travelocity and it was much cheaper as I told them, if they would refund my HOTWIRE purchase. the answer was no. In essence, it makes their price guarantee useless. The only way to prove another opaque service is cheaper, you have to buy it from the other service. Then, even if its cheaper they will only match the difference and you have bought the hotel room twice. Oh Well.

I have always used priceline probably 9 to 1 bookings over Hotwire due to better prices. When I last went to Hotwire, I noticed they removed the customer satisfaction ratings from the individual hotel listings. I really hesitate to use them now due to this. Before, I would probably only choose a hotel with an 85% recommendation or higher. Now, you can get stuck with a hotel that has very low ratings. Any chance of pressuring Hotwire to relist the satisfaction ratings? Also, do you anticipate following Travelocity and Expedia's new secret hotel programs? Thanks

Ended up booking a 2.5* for $42 plus tax and fees for $54.43 for one person. Breakfast, pool, internet are the three amenities. Not pleased as Travelocity Top Secret has the same deal for $36/night with lower fees. I am going to follow up with hotwire to see if they guarantee lowest rate. Thanks

However I did stay two nights after the conference at the Palmer House Hilton from May 21 -- 23 from PRICELINE and Better Bidding.
