  3. Note that the list needs to be updated, as Hotwire has increased the star rating of this property to 3.5*. 90% recommended, shown as an all-suites hotel Amenities: Free breakfast, Free parking, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Airport shuttle, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower.
  4. The name on the hotel Best Western Salinas Monterey Hotel (may want to update that in hotel list). I was initially disappointed that I ended up at a Best Western and that I didn't get a discount with Hotwire. However, the place turned out to be a reasonable value. I enjoyed the stay.
  5. New to list Amenities Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Free Breakfast The total price turned out to be the same (almost exactly) as Expedia, Travelocity, and Orbitz show for that hotel for the same room type and dates. However they have a far better cancellation policy. Some hotwire purchases are treats. This one was more of a trick.
  6. Ammenities:Suite, Airport Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Kitchenette Used your HOTWIRE.com link.
  7. Comfort Suites, Stevenson Ranch appears to be a new property to add to the CA Hotwire hotel list. No ammenities listed, not even after clicking on "show details". Sometimes it would say Recommended in 95 % of Hotwire customer reviews, sometimes it wouldn't even say that. Interestingly, I clicked on the HOTWIRE link using two totally different IP addresses on two different computers at the same time. In one window, it consistently (over several minutes) showed only one 2.5* property in that area for those dates at $62 with a 95% approval rating (and no ammenities listed); the other window consistently showed only one 2.5* property at $66 with no approval rating or ammenities mentioned. If someone has more information about Hotwire showing different prices and descriptions to different people at the same time, I'd be interested in hearing about what you know. The advertised 95% Hotwire approval rate for this property seems to be in line with the TripAdvisor reviews. I might have tried for a lower rate for this category on Priceline, but the property's 95% approval rating sold me on Hotwire. 3 nights total = $199.54, including a $20 Entertainment Book rebate. That's not a huge discount, since the Choice Hotels lowest website total would have been $270, but I'm still happy given the market this year. Prices in that area for that week seem much high than in previous years. Last year at that time I'd won a bid at around $60 on Priceline for the (3.5*) Hyatt Regency. This year, Priceline was still rejecting my bids at around $90 when I finally gave up on the Hyatt. The Hotwire rate on those dates for the Hyatt (only 3.5* in the area) is a very high $126 (vs. $139 Hyatt website rate). Booked through your HOTWIRE link.
  8. The Radisson Hotel Los Angeles Westside was listed with the following: Shuttle, gym, pool, restaurant, laundry, business, internet total price $82.84, plus $14 for parking, I believe
  9. Total price $193.42 for two nights (plus the ~$20/day parking charge later). I started at $64 and rebid in $2 increments over a few days. Just as a comparison, HOTWIRE had what looked like either this property or the Sheraton Universal for $122/night for the same dates. I use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start purchases and searches.
  10. Since $138 was at least $20 lower than any recently posted wins in this category, I thought I was starting low and would have to rebid. I got a nice surprise when I didn't have to. I guess the low supply of flights to the islands is increasing the supply of hotel rooms. So, start your bids low! For comparison, the lowest rate on the Hyatt website was $240 and Hotwire had a 4* in that area for those dates at $152. Of course, I used the board's link to PRICELINE to help support the board. This board is awesome! I was able to be pretty sure I was going to get the Hyatt Regency before I bid.
