  1. I dont know what hotel it is but I would never go below a 2* in the Orlando area..
  2. AND personally if Hotwire is allowing these hotels to participate on their site then it IS also their problem when the hotels treat the guests like this
  3. Hi, we could do Knoxville but the reason I picked Cleveland is that the hotels will be right off the freeway which is what we need. I am afraid with Knoxville being a big city that we could end up with something quite a drive from the freeway.. Priceline was actually pretty "on" with the suggested retail price according to what I found so all I can assume is they dont have much available. The other board doesnt show any posted wins either. Oh how I wish airfares would have been decent so we wouldnt be driving and dealing with this :-(
  4. Hi, would like your thoughts on this one. Looking for a hotel on our way home from Florida (it would be April 2 for one night, 2 rooms) I have checked rates and most of the hotels in that area are in the 2* range which is the highest Priceline offers. I have gotten rates myself of anywhere from $50.99 - $69.88 so not very high really I have tried 25, 30 and 35 on Priceline and been turned down. And they all gave me the not a chance message first too which is strange considering the last offer is only about $20 less then what Priceline themselves states is the going price. (they state $55) Do you think this is a matter of a small town thing and not much availability even though they "offer" it or what? If I keep bidding much higher I will be at pretty close to what I can book myself. thanks for your opinion! Diane
  5. Started at $25 and was given the "add $6" option which usually you can still beat that. Has my husband try and offered $28 thinking that was in between the last 2 and then was given a "add $7" option which figures! Waited 3 days and then decided what the heck for one night and 2 rooms we arent talking about much money here so went ahead and offered the $31 the original bid wanted and got it. We stayed at this same Baymont Inn summer of 2003 on our drive down to Orlando (only flew after that but cant get any decent airfares this time) for around $25 so this isnt too bad and the hotel was clean and right off the freeway. So this is for 1 night and 2 rooms total with tax and fees $76.80
  6. I can tell you that alot depends on dates and availability. 3* go anywhere from $35-$60 and resorts go anywhere from $60 and up..
  7. I have been checking similar rates and its interesting to find that on Wyndhams website you can actually get the same or even a cheaper rate then the Hotwire one
  8. Very happy to see this hotel showing back up as it is a good value for a Priceline bid!
  9. I believe that is Westgate Lakes and most likely a studio which would be very crowded for even 4 people..
  10. I have noticed for my dates later in March (24-26) that the rates on Hotwire have been steadily increasing..so much that the hotel that matches up to the Radisson Worldgate or Doubletree is around $149 (I dont remember exactly) I think last time I looked!
  11. Just an update..we went with a Best Western in Birch Run by the outlets..will let you know how it is!
  12. Thanks I totally agree. I checked the Hampton Inn and no indoor pool which is a must for my daughters. They enjoy taking advantage of being able to swim in December. It kinda goes along with the trip so that one is out but I will check into the others. There is definitely a difference in price going out towards Saginaw even versus staying in Birch Run which is running in the 90s.. I will let you know if we decide to bid (probably not) or what we do just for reference for anyone else in the same situation
  13. This is probably impossible as it isnt avail. with the package option and I havent seen anyone post for this area. Looking for 1 room for 1 night on 12/18. All the hotels in downtown Frankenmuth are sold out so I entered in Birch Run and it came back with hotels in the Flint area (no) and a 3* that says Saginaw/Frankenmuth for $56. Says its a Best Value and has a restaurant and pool. This would be quite a gamble here wouldnt it as there are many hotels IN Saginaw that it could be right? Would prefer not to go that far.. Any ideas?
  14. An update: I checked the Wyndham Palace website and they have a Webrate room for $116. Only $3 more then what Hotwire seems to be offering.. Also checking the vacation packages part of Hotwire the 4* without the laundry seems to be the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress and $134 is a great price since the site has a govt. rate of $220 and AAA rate of $233 and those are the lowest available. Of course as seems to be my problem lately it will only come up when looking for 1 room.
  15. I'd actually like to avoid the Wyndham Palace so thats why I havent tried Priceline..actually we are hoping to get the Dolphin and thats why I have kept trying but it changes quite a bit! So..I will keep trying and see what comes up.. thanks!
  16. Hi First of all hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving! I am still trying for 3/24 2 rooms for 2 nights and I come up with this today: If I put in 1 room I get a 4* for $131 Rest, Pool, Fitness, Golf, Tennis, Bus. Center (dont see laundry this time) If I put in 2 rooms I get a 4* for $113 Customer Fav, Rest, Pool, Fitness, Spa, Golf, Tennis, Bus. Center Could this be the Wyndham Palace as that seems kinda high for it since you can get it on Priceline for around $60-$70 I am just wondering your opinion on what these 2 hotels are? thanks for your help! Diane
  17. We stayed there on a Priceline bid in October and while it was a nice enough hotel I dont think its "wonderful". It has a good location for getting to the parks without using the freeway and the rooms are pretty large. It was clean and that was all we mostly were looking for when we stayed there. Oh and no resort fee
  18. Thats pretty high for the Wyndham Palace..it can be had on Priceline for $60-$70ish most times.. Of course you dont know for sure there what you will get (I know you dont know for sure here either but its easier to tell)
  19. Unfortunately anything I put in now comes back at $151..how disappointing. I will keep checking on and off and hope that price or something closer to it comes back!
  20. I just went in fresh and got $105 for 1 room and $151 for 2 rooms! Do you think that somehow Hotwire thinks this is a "popular" date since so many requests are being made checking it that they raised it? I dont understand how it can be so different
  21. OK..a little problem here. When I checked this last night I only put in one room to see what was out there. We actually need 2 rooms. When I went to go ahead and try it this morning and put in 2 rooms the rate is $135! Dilemma here is do the first room and hope I can go back and do another single room for the same price after? Or should we not try this if we need 2 rooms? Any advice would be appreciated!
  22. Thanks I will let you know..decisions decisions! Got it last summer for $69 on Priceline which was a major coup and I didnt think I would get it that cheap again! This isnt too bad considering it is right before Easter. I will definitely let you know if we decide to try it
  23. I pulled up this 4* for above dates: Rest. Pool Fitness Golf Tennis Bus. Center Laundry for $104 Could this possibly be the Dolphin for that price? IT seems to match but geez at this time it is pretty cheap.
  24. Nice hotel for the price! We paid $35 on Priceline and this is considered a 2 1/2*. The room was clean with 2 double beds, coffeemaker in room (and lobby). They have a very small indoor pool and whirlpool and an excercise room. Everyone who worked there was friendly and its in a great location right off M59.
