  1. Got this on Hotwire. I was disappointed because I wanted Paradise Point and the amenities listed matched the amenities for Paradise Point but not Hilton in the Hotwire Hotel List. Amentities listed were : Resort Beachfront hotel Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Golf nearby Tennis nearby Hopefully the hotel list can be updated to include the words Resort and Tennis for Hilton
  2. Just letting people know that deals are hard to come by for these holiday weeks. I have so far bid up to 260 for Maui Kaanapali Resorts with no luck for 3/21-28 Have bid up to 240 for Oahu Marina hoping for the HHV for 3/29-4/4 with no luck
  3. You are not correct. #1 I knew there was only 1 possible hotel in my bidding zones so I didn't risk getting another one. #2 The $219 offer I saw did not include breakfast so it was no different than the NYOP. #3 The $219 offer had more than $30 in fees added on for a total of more than $249. When bidding on NYOP, the fees quoted were about $22 so even if I had paid $219 on NYOP, my total cost would have been less than taking the $219 offer. So I never bid an amount higher than the amount I thought I could get elsewhere. It was only the last day I bid that the $207 offer including breakfast popped up. Thanks for your concern though.
  4. Really wanted the Hilton Hawaiian Village for 2/17-2/20. Had seen prices in the $130-150 range. Started at 130 but got nothing all the way to $200 over several days. This is President's week-end so I was not surprised things would be tight. Other rates I found were $239. Once I got over $200, I started getting screens I had never seen on priceline before. They would say, can't accept $205 but we have these other deals for you and they listed a bunch of hotels in Honolulu with decent pricing. They had Hilton Hawaiian for $219 so I figured that was my top. What was weird about these screens was that it would not let me go back to name my own price like usual, even if I had rebid chances left. I had to log out and back in with a new search to bid again. Just thought that was very strange that they were not allowing me back in to Name my Price. Anyway, just for fun, to see what would happen and compare fees, I went ahead the next day and bid all the way up to $219 but was still rejected! So I tried to find my way back into the area with the $219 offer for HHV and when I found it, the HHV offer was now $207 including breakfast! So I took it and am happy. Just think it is strange that they won't accept $219 with no breakfast through name your price but they are offering $207 incl Breakfast through another area of PriceLine. Anyway, it is done so I am happy.
  5. Saw another win at this price and bid $118, accepted at the hotel I wanted. Overbidding to target a hotel can work!
  6. I went ahead and went for the Hilton with a $118 bid and it was accepted. It only makes sense that you can overbid to get a higher priced hotel in the same category. Otherwise the no one would ever get the high priced ones. Of course, the risk could be if the high priced hotel is sold out but based on the other accepted bid, I thought it was a good shot.
  7. I saw your win, that def gives me a good idea of what to bid. I appreciate the warning but to be honest, I don't see alot of evidence of people who "overbid" and got stuck with properties that usually go for much less. When I look through the past wins, it is pretty solid pricing for the diff hotels. I think I will give overbidding a shot and let you know.
  8. I see lots of wins on here for this zone at the Marriot between $90-110, but I would like the Hilton. Only one review mentions a price of around $130-135. I am willing to pay this but if I bid that high, won't the Marriott just jump on it? How do you get the higher price hotels without overpaying for the lower ones? Any help is appreciated. Dates Feb 10-16th.
  9. Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $102.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $22.35 Total Charges for Original Reservation*: $124.35 PER NIGHT I bought one night and added another when I was happy with the hotel
  10. I couldn't figure out why the Hotwire price was so high so I went back and changed my dates to exclude the Sunday (most expensive day with normal rates) and my daily quote went down to $122. Then I did just the Sunday night (5/25) and it was 219. So seperating it saves me money. Would I most likely get the same room if I did it like this? Would some hotwire fee make this not worth it? Should I try to bid with Priceline for the 1 night and then try to add? Ideas please. Thanks Eric
  11. Been learning alot on this board since finding it. Want San Diego Coastal 4* May 25-30 5 nights Sun-Thurs I really would like to stay at the Hyatt Mission Bay but will be ok with the Hilton Mission Bay. Don't want Hyatt LaJolla or anythin in LaJolla. I tried Hotwire but they gave me $179 for the hotel I think is the Hyatt Mission Bay. Hyatt.com prices are 239,189,189,189,189 for the 5 days so Hotwire is not much of a bargain. Any tips for Priceline bidding to help ensure the Hyatt? It seems to typically go for $90-110? Thanks Eric
  12. I have been unable to get to HOTWIRE through any of your links. PRICELINE works fine. Any help? Thanks
