  1. Ok, yesterday my bidding brought me to $105, and still to no avail. I'm thinking the suburbs option (thanks for the reminder about that) is my next option! Any idea which area would be the best for travel into the city via the Metro? Thanks All, KO
  2. Thanks for the responses. My maximum bid would probably be about the $100 mark. Breaking up the bid for each night would more than likely be a last option. I'm already trying to plan on a two night stay for that weekend, with an additional hotel room for the second night. I suppose I could bid on the two rooms for the Saturday night and the one hotel room for the Friday night separately. My girls and I are staying the Friday night, while my husband is joining us on the Saturday, thus the two room necessity. Since we're only there for a short time, staying in the suburbs isn't an option, as we'd probably spend more time in traffic than actually enjoying the city! I'll keep you posted as to my bid process. Wish me luck!! Happy Travels All!
  3. Hi All, Noted a 4* win for the above mentioned weekend for $71 a night on the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins (great tool, btw). I have been trying unsuccessfully now for 5 days to grab a great rate via your PRICELINE link, going up to $87 for even a 3*. HOTWIRE is listing prices at a whopping $209 tops to $169 low for downtown. What in the world is up with this? I will continue trying, hate to think what I have to go up to!! If prices are up like this, is it better to wait. I think it's the first time I've been in the situation!! Help! Happy Travels, Kaz
  4. Hi All, Booking a room for my boss, so I have to get it right!! 4-star hotel in SeaWorld - I-drive South $69 a night May 2 - May 8 (6 nights) Recommended by 80% of reviewers. Here are the ammenities: This hotel features the following amenities: Resort 1-Bedroom Suite Smoke Free Rooms Free Parking Air Conditioning In-Room Laundry Children's Activity Program Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center 24-hour Front Desk Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Kitchenette Condo Any help is appreciated! Happy Travels, KO
  5. The girls loved this hotel. Location was great as well as everything about the hotel. Happy Travels, KO
  6. I know it's long after the fact, but thought I'd add a side note about this hotel. Apparently shuttle access offered by this hotel is horrible. Times were random and then not reliable. It's not close to anything, so the shuttle service is necessary. The only positive for the girls was the pool. Happy Travels, KO
  7. Hi All, First bid via your PRICELINE link for Downtown Toronto, 3.5 star for $55 accepted...should have started lower!! Delta Chelsea Two rooms for one night @ $55 = $110 Taxes and fees = $20 Total $130. HOTWIRE's offering this hotel for 1 Room for one night for $59 ($73 with add-ons), but when I put in 2 rooms for one night it didn't show up. The $130 U.S. funds would cost about $140-$145 Canadian right now. Anyhow, to put it in perspective the lowest priced room on the Delta Chelsea website is $139 Canadian with taxes amounting to a total of about $160 for one room. $320 Website, $145 Priceline. Ouch. Happy Travels, All. KO
  8. Thanks, Thereuare. I'm sure they'll have a great time. Hopefully it's not too far from things. Added one more night to this reservation through your HOTWIRE link. Same hotel which had the same amenities advertised (Restaurant) price of $62 for Friday, July 17th. $75 with the added tax/service fees added on. Happy Travels, All KO

  17. Sorry Thereuare, and fellow bidders! It just seemed like I was all over the board with this one....Priceline, Hotwire booking through Embassy Suites, etc. Couldn't make up my mind with it, and when I finally did, forgot the most important part, listing the final outcome. And while the thread was started with Priceline, it was through HOTWIRE that I ended up booking. It is listed as a 3*. Amenities are as follow: Suite A guestroom designed for an extended stay and/or that more spacious than the average hotel room. Suites typically offer residential-style furnishings, as well as separate living and sleeping areas; some also offer kitchenettes. Near Beach Property is located within easy walking distance of a beach. Casino Property offers a full-service casino accessible from the lobby. Complimentary Breakfast <amenity names only please... not descriptions> Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. Pool(s) Property offers at least one pool area; hours and dates of operation may be seasonal. Restaurant(s) Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary. Business Center Guests have access to business equipment and services; an additional charge may apply. Laundry Facilities <amenity names only please... not descriptions> Kitchenette Accommodations include a stovetop or microwave oven, a sink and a mini-refrigerator. Now, if I could just get that same hotel post-cruise. (Started on another thread !) Good day all, 8 inches of snow overnight here...sun is sounding good! KO
  18. Ok, for our pre-cruise stay we booked through HOTWIRE via this site. Amenities were listed precisely as you had them listed for the Embassy Suites Hotel San Juan Hotel and Casino-International Airport. The room cost us 185 plus 26 in taxes, fees and recovery, $211 total. Booking through the Embassy would have cost us approximately $60 more. This Embassy is only a mile from the airport (approx. $12 fare) and 5 miles from the port (approx. $18 fare). Now....on to the post-cruise booking ! Thanks, KO
  19. Hello Better Bidders, I'm now looking for a hotel post-cruise. Hotwire is offering a 3.5* for Sunday, March 16 - Monday, March 17 for $134/night. I can't figure it out from the listings Thereuare posted....help ! Following ammenities: Pool Restaurant Business Center Have been waiting patiently for the Embassy Suites to come up, but, I've yet to see it. Time is closing in....time to book otherwise! Thanks all....cruising in 4 days ! KO
  20. Just an update on my daughter's Delta Chelsea hotel stay. Before she left, I called the hotel to ask what age you had to be to check in. I was told with the hotel being prepaid she still of course had to have a valid credit card for incidentals, and was told to bring a permission note from a parent allowing her to check into the hotel. Since there's room service, the issue of being served alcohol was the concern. So the hotel clerk made a note in the computer when I spoke with her, and I also sent the note....lol, something my 18 year old who has travelled throughout Europe on her own got a chuckle out of! Anyhow, anything to save a few bucks. Hotel was great, location excellent. Thanks again for the help ! KO
  21. 3.5 * Downtown Toronto East Delta Chelsea through your HOTWIRE link. Hotel offers: No Smoking Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Centre Hi Speed Internet Children's Activities Consistent with your hotel listing for the Delta Chelsea. Price my daughter got it for $76 per night, 2 nights total taxes and fees, $175.33. Through the Delta site, rooms are posted for $159 per night. We'll be making a donation to your site via your Paypal link. Thanks, she saved over $160. Thanks, KO
  22. Hello All, Once again I am attempting to book through Hotwire for one night March 8 - 9, pre-cruise. While I was set to book Embassy Suites through of course the Embassy link on this site, I was concerned about the shuttle to and from the cruise port. While I read there was shuttle (I'm not even sure it's directly affiliated with the hotel) available for $70, it didn't mention how many people that covered, luggage, etc. I am now getting an option on Hotwire for: 3* Condo in Dorado at the cost of $204/night. Amenities include: Resort Studio A/C Fitness Restaurant Golf Nearby Beachfront Daily Housekeeping In Room Laundry Pool Tennis Nearby Any help would be great. KO
  23. Hi, Well, the room that I did see, is not currently there. I'm curious as to how stringent they are on the guest must be 21. My daughter is 18, has her own valid credit card, but we're not sure we'll get around the age issue. Any comments? Thanks, KO
  24. Ok, I shold have probably looked at the Hotwire Hotel List first. I'm assuming this is the Cambridge Suites (East ) !!!
