  1. This has shown up on the Hyatt website this morning for those interested in the debate between the North and the South tower. Should solve all the problems! "The South Tower will be under renovation August 29 - November 19, 2004. " Tracey
  2. Looking at 17 to 21 August and the following hotel has shown up at $65 Renton (Airport areas) Suite, restaurant, pool, fitness, breakfast, kitchenette, business, laundry. Any idea? Everyone has been so helpful when booking my accommodations in San Francisco, LA and Las Vegas. Now I need to sort our my accommodation pre-cruise. Thank you Tracey
  3. thereuare, Took your advice and booked something closer to the Strip through QUIKBOOK. Hawthorn Suites, 5 mins walk from back door of MGM (I know that area pretty well) where we get a kitchenette, breakfast and drinks (and light meal Weds) in the evening. When you have to feed four away from home for a month it adds up so the breakfast was the deciding factor really. Quickbook was $10 cheaper per night than the cheapest other company I could find. Thanks
  4. Thanks for that. Now I need someone to tell me where to park at the Hyatt in Orange County / Disney as they charge $12 per night! I just got that for $35 per night for 5 nights in August with Priceline (my first one!)and was really pleased. May think about the Hyatt SFO through Priceline (they are accepting around $37) and eat at Sizzlers, but also HI Express looks nice. Now only hotels to organise in Seattle and Vancouver! Thanks again. Tracey
  5. Dirk, Yes, I guessed it was the Hyatt. It has been as low as $45 but it is $13 per night to park and breakfast (Sunday brunch) is $33 x 2 and $16 x 2 ( 2 adults and 2 children) - that adds up to a lot more! Priceline bids are getting it much lower. Embassy Suites just isn't showing up for those dates. What about the 3*including breakfast for
  6. If I recall, 2 hotels kept showing up with the same icons (except for oceanfront) at roughly the same price. I guessed that they were both Embassy Suites. The one I bid on (and it's still there) was Airport South - Burlingame. Hope this helps. Now waiting to see if it shows up on the 28th August between my return from Seattle and flight to London! Tracey
  7. Booked 5 nights at the Hyatt Regency Orange County for $35 per night - total $202.76 including taxes and fees. I have found out since that people have got it lower (and $35 was my first bid so I should have bidded lower) but never mind. It was the first time that I have used Priceline and won a hotel so I am pleased with the hotel for the price. Also, it has mixed reviews but for
  8. Got the Embassy Suites in San Francisco Burlingame (Airport) for the 15th and 16th August for $70 - 2 nights $160.95 including taxes and fees. Icons were as advertised, Suite, oceanfront, shuttle, restaurant , pool, fitness, complimentary breakfast and kitchette. Very, very pleased. First time that I had got a hotel with either Hotwire or Priceline. Even better value when you look at the current exchange rate between the dollar and the pound. Tracey (England)
  9. Will do. Got the Hyatt Regency in Anaheim with Priceline for $35. Guess I have overpaid when looking at other posts, but it was the first time I had got anything so I didn't mind! I just tried it as an afterthought last night not expecting it to come back accepted. Will have to look into this bidding in more detail. I notice now that others have got it for $28 - but although it has mixed reviews, I think that it is good value. Also, thereuare, you said about bidding via someone? Don't understand this - can you send me the details please. I know this is the wrong section for Anaheim but it was just that everyone was so helpful and thought I would let you know here. It was interesting as I bid from the UK and with the Anaheim hotel it kept returning the message to re-enter credit card details. Obviously was trying to match up my card and billing address, not rejecting my offer. Had I realised I should have then started again and bid less!! Tracey
  10. Thank you everyone for your interest and your replies. Yes, it is the Burlingame location in San Francisco that we have booked - looks lovely. I am glad that you made the comment about the garden rooms at the Tropicana as I have been looking at thoses. Are they not nice rooms? The pool complex looks gorgeous. Can you get into the pool area without being a guest at that hotel? Had a look at Quikbook and saw some options that I hadn't considered. The Hawthorn Suites are only behind the Tropicana and they offer breakfast and drinks in the evening - plus the cheapest prices for that hotel that I have found. Also, kitchen facilities and only $10 cancellation like you said. So, thanks for your help. Tracey
  11. Thanks for all your help. You have given me a lot to think about! Yes, I have been to Vegas thre times before and stayed in the Hacienda twice (now gone of course) and the Excalibur. We are coming to sightsee (and bringing the children for the first time - 7 and 10) and yes, budget is an issue. We are flying in from London so with the 8 hour time difference, I doubt we will want to do much the first day at least so maybe you are right about staying on the strip. We are then going to LA for about 5 days (I have been looking at "possibly" the Staybridge Suites on Hotwire but they seem to have disappeared for the moment), then up to San Francisco, onto Seattle and then a cruise on Diamond Princess to Alaska. I don't know where you got Florida from - but we did go there in November last year, so maybe you are looking at an old post or maybe it was the reference to Disney? I have only used Hotwire once so far and with this boards help, I have got Embassy Suites at San Francisco Airport for $70 and I am very pleased with that choice. The free breakfast played a part in choosing that. We have stayed at La Quinta in the past so are aware of the distance between the Airport and San Francisco itself. In Vegas, I have held rooms at Keylargo (Quality Inn) as they offer a free shuttle from the Airport and then to the Strip but I am now swaying towards the Strip after your comments. Also, a room opening directly to the outside in August might prove a bit too hot for us - we might want to stay in the airconditioning as much as possible! Therre is a 3* on the strip for $66 with casino, restaurant and pool - any ideas? With two children and luggage for a month we would not want to swap hotels after two nights! We will want to sightsee and shop - and pool for the children in the early morning and evening when no direct sun. Not interested in gambling. Tuscany Suites looks good for four and the pool looks lovely - but no shuttle. The other hotel I would possibly like is the Orleans (shuttle to Strip) as it looks good for children) but again the weekend is dear. That is easily identifiable by the childrens facilities icon. May try Priceline. The Westin (I think) came up when I first started looking for under $70 - wish I had taken it. Thanks again for your interest and will no doubt bee seeking you advice about LA, Seattle or Vancouver! Tracey
  12. Thanks for the prompt reply. The dates are 4th to 8th August. I originally thought the Embassy Suites and they had forgotten the breakfast icon, but too many of the icons are different. I then wondered if it was the Marriott Suites (convention centre - from looking at the Priceline hotels) but I don't think they have a casino, so am no closer. Tracey
  13. Can anyone help with the name of this hotel that has showed up on Hotwire with the following icons? Suite, casino, restaurant, pool, fitness, business and laundry. I am looking for August and it is showing up for $62 which I thought seemed a good buy? Have no idea which hotel it could be though. Thanks Tracey (England)
  14. kicolv, Your trip was planned for June wasn't it? Did you book this hotel with Howire or get something else? Any fresh ideas on the name? Or has anyone else got the Staybridge Suites with these icons? Thanks
  15. Did you book this hotel in the end? Which one was it? Looking at the same one for August. Thanks Tracey
  16. Has anyone seen this hotel that has just shown up on Hotwire and have any ideas which one it might be. It is for August 8th to 13th and has the following facilities, suite, pool, complimentary breakfast, kitchenette, business, golf nearby and laundry? I haven't seen it before and it is showing up at $64 - can't find it on the vacation package page either. Other alternative is a 2 1/2* one in Disneyland North for $47 - restaurant, pool, fitness, complimentary breakfast. Thanks Tracey (England) Have yet to see if it works from the UK.
