Used the HOTWIRE link provided by your site. I also tried bidding for the same area on Priceline and got denied up until $55. Then cut my losses with the hotwire buy at $60.

I'm traveling to NYC 12/21 to 12/24. Will I save considerably if I wait till mid december?
I'm looking for the best deal for these dates without breaking my bank. I would like to stay in the city and pay around $120 a night. Please share some NYC strategy tips.

I had booked the 3.5* for the same night previously using Hotwire and got the Creekside Inn. I had to book an additional room for my parents, but this time I got the Sheraton.
We booked Gild Hall thru Quickbook (used the Better bidding link) for $153/nite. Since we could cancel, we kept bidding.
I bid all Manhattan Zones up to $150 everyday with no luck.
Then someone posted they won bidding MTE and got the Grand Hyatt for $155 for the same dates. We bid and won the 4* Grand Hyatt (MTE) 4/25/08-4/27/08.
Thanks better bidding.
Bid $65, $75, and hit on $85.
This lists for $199 on their site.
I had thought this was the Hyatt, but not bad for $85.
Worked for us on priceline for the same dates as well. We've been trying for months. Thanks!
Just won the bid on priceline for Sunday April 28th. :) :) :o
I need help trying to find a 4* in Manhattan for around $150 for the dates 4/25-4/27. So far, no luck. How should I bid?
I am willing to bid all Zones in Manhattan. I don't want Jersery or Airports. My bidding has ranged from $125-$160. I am willing to go to a 3* as long as it is not a holiday inn express or hotel like that.
Will I find a better deal closer to the dates I need.

The 4* Customer Favorite on Hotwire in Kaanapali is the Westin. My wife and I have booked it twice. Once in September (low season-right after labor day) and once for January 2009. Both of these trips were booked almost a year in advance and we got great deals on both on Hotwire. Once the great price was only around for a day and the other a couple weeks. We have had stuff fluctuate during the day, but only by a few dollars. Both deals I booked during the week.
I think I have read the other 4* on Hotwire is the Sheraton (is not labeled the customer favorite) and the 4.5 or 5 star is the Hyatt.
I check everyday and sometimes I stumble upon some great deals.
If you are looking for a condo- try VBRO.com - they have some pretty good deals for the Whaler and Kaanapali shores.
Hope that helps.
We actually ended going for it for 8/16-8/17. It turned out to be the creekside inn. Looks pretty nice.
