  1. 4 Star Hotel West Hollywood October 26-28 $204.00 AMENITIES: Free Internet Bed of Choice Business Center Fitness Center Non Smoking Pets Allowed Swimming Pool Restaurant Four Star Express Deal "This deal saves you 20%" Guest Score 7+
  2. It's a busy weekend. The amenities indicate that it could possibly be the Cosmopolitan of Las Veages
  3. 5* The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Restaurant, Fitness Centre, Indoor/Outdoor Pool, Casino, Non Smoking. 8/10 Rating Was shopping around for a 5*, wanted to be centre/south strip. Read several winning PRICELINE EXPRESS deals which indicated similar guaranteed amenities which ended up being the Cosmo. While Aria was similarly priced directly through their website. I wanted to go ahead with The Cosmopolitan. I researched the Cosmo prices online through third party providers and through their hotel website which were anywhere from 55-100 dollars more. As such, I decided to take a chance booking Express Deals through the above link on this website and got what I wanted. I believe the other option for the 5* Strip South Area is Vdara - Pets, Business Centre, Fitness Centre, Indoor/Outdoor Pool, Non Smoking (note no casino). However, the price quoted on their direct site was better then the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal quoted. Overall satisfied with my decision, Thanks again better bidding.
  4. Thanks for the heads up! This is the first Starwood Hotel I have won since I have been bidding on Priceline about 5 years ago. The tip is much appreciated I will post once my reservation has been confirmed.
  5. Bids for Paris two nights 2 rooms from July 30, 2011 to August 1, 2011: Initially I was bidding to get the Marriott Rive Gauche in the St. Germain/L-Quarter Montparnasse area as we won our bid there during our 2007 stay in Paris and we were very pleased with our experience there. $100 for 4* St. Germain - Latin Quarter - Montparnasse $105 for 4*
  6. A friend of mind who is traveling with us from October 15 to 17 had been attempting to bid for a couple of weeks in August. She bid up to 120 and finally got the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Wan Chai on August 19, 2010, she was hoping to get the Courtyard but unfortunately she won the Cosmo. Not much of deal really it was about a saving of about 20$ a night. Not the best deal but one none the less. I was successful in bidding on priceline and getting the Courtyard at 75$ a night just three weeks earlier for the dates. There must be a convention in town that weekend.
  7. I used the PRICELINE link above on all of my attempts including the most recent attempt on August 9, 2010 evening.
  8. :) I have been attempting to bid for several days now for October 4-6. All attempts have failed including bids as high as 115$. I am hoping to get the Hilton or Conrad. I know that I will have to bid a little higher as the weekend rate tends to be better than a weekday rate. I am assuming I am too early. Hopefully the theory of bidding closer to the dates requested will be successful :)

  10. $344.52 all in 2 rooms for 2 nights. Accepted first bid of 75 USD. (I know, I know the mediator will mention that I should bid even lower but the median rate had gone up around 10 dollars. I fell for it.) That's 86.13 a night taxes in. Published Marriott online rate for the same dates 153USD a night. Savings of 70USD a night not too bad. Prob could have got a better deal but I really wanted this hotel! Still happy with this purchase. Reviews are great on Tripadvisor. I will report back when I get back. On o my next hotel in Singapore. Unfortunately I wasn't as lucky.... maybe tomorrow.
  11. $479.64 all in 2 rooms for 3 nights. Accepted first bid of 70 USD. That's 79.94 a night taxes in. Published Marriott online rate for the same dates 153USD a night. 13. Melia Royal Alma Boutique Hotel 4* Arc de Triomphe - Champs Elysees area 09/15/2009-09/18/2009 I attempted to bid multiple times through several days I don't know what is going on in Paris that week a convention, a special event all hotels are pricey. I was hoping for the Marriott Rive Gauche stayed there over Christmas Break 2007 nice hotel, had a nice stay, not centrally located though but at 98$ you can't go wrong. My bids included every region except La Defense and Batignolles 4 star. Counter bid was at 198.00 a night. All bids were rejected until I reached 139.00 140.00 being my max. I lucked out and got Melia Royal Alma Boutique Hotel 4 star in the Arc de Triomphe - Champs Elysees region The hotel has a prime location smack in the middle of all sights 5-10 min to Eiffel, Arc, Louvre 5min to Les Invalid 500 meters from the seine. You can't beat this location. I would have never imagined getting this hotel! :)

Online pay in advance rate through Hitlon.com per Night (EUR) 395.0 / 513.40USD Expedia.com 511.00 USD average nightly rate Initial Bid 100.00 countered at 128.00 USD 512USD + 69.18USD taxes= 581.18USD for 4 nights Average nightly rate = 145.30 USD /111.81 EUR almost one third of the cost !! however I should have countered again lower I was told I would have been able to get a better deal
