  1. In London, a 4* or 4+* hotel that you get by bidding on Priceline never includes breakfast.

For Hotwire, I think it would be extremely unlikely to get a 4* or 4+* hotel that includes breakfast.

I think because it is your boss, and you want to be sure of a good location, only use the Mayfair-Soho zone for either Priceline or Hotwire.

If you want to get a deal with breakfast, some other site is likely your best bet - maybe GTA Hotels.com although 100 pounds probably wouldn't be enough for the location you want for a hotel with breakfast.

  2. If that Hotwire hotel was for the same date for two rooms, it isn't available now (just checked). In fact, Hotwire offered no hotels in the main island of Venice for June 26-29.

Do you have a backup booking? That would be my main concern right now, as Venice is an extremely popular city right around now, particularly on weekends like your stay is.

If you think a 4* would be okay, the Hotel Ai Mori D Oriente is available on Travelocity for your dates, and it has very good reviews. The total rate is less than $200 USD/room. (It might be available cheaper some other way - I don't know.) Check HotelsCombined.com - it has some offers that are very good value, like the Sofitel for 180 Euros per night.

Boscolo Hotel Dei Dogi is 182 Euros per night through GTA Hotels.com (obviously much better than the website).

  3. >> 3 * central $109 - internet, breakfast ( 4/5 trip advisor with 140+ reviews and last review in April)

I think Best Western Globus might be possible. This is known to come up on HOTWIRE as a 3*. There are 179 reviews, and the last review was June 11, but the last one before that was April 25, and HOTWIRE is always lagging. If you choose this option, and if it turns out to be this hotel, keep in mind the location is not convenient (at least I wouldn't think so). If my suspicion is correct, this hotel is available for 387 Euros for the entire stay through the BestWestern site (I think you can book through the support page links), which means about 78 Euros per night, which means that booking blindly is likely a bad idea.

  4. If you want the location of being near Piazza Navona or the Trevi Fountain, which will indeed be very central and is recommended, I'd suggest looking for 4.5* or 5* hotels only in the Rome Central zone. You really have to pay for a good location in Rome, generally speaking.

  5. I'd like to post reviews for hotels in Manchester, UK and Brussels, Belgium but not sure just where in the hotel area to post them?

Other Countries? MA-chester? UK? Great Britain?

Please let me know how to head them up so they land in the right spot.

    Thank you,

    Romelle

  6. I'd advise that you book a cancellable backup hotel that you can live with, as you are coming up to these dates and you don't want to be left without a room.

June tends to be an expensive month for business hotels in Paris, so it's quite likely that the great rates you see for other posters may not be applicable in your case. Are you willing to consider the Latin Quarter - Montparnasse zone?

  7. I hope your son recovers well.

The main problem with Lake Union is that it's hard to win bids there at all, and most of the bids people win are for short stays. I doubt a single long stay has been posted for Lake Union.

Will you have a car when you are there?

I think that Homewood Suites (either the Pike Street location or the other one close to the Space Needle) would also work well for you, because they have kitchens.

Also, the Marqueen that I stayed at a few months ago has full kitchens. (So does the Inn at Queen Anne, but that is a 2* hotel.) Note that the Marqueen has no elevator, so far as I can see. I think the Inn at Queen Anne also lacks elevators.

Springhill Suites has a microwave, fridge, and dishwasher, but not a full kitchen.

With Priceline there is the possibility of not getting enough beds, and two, you could very easily not get a kitchen. I haven't looked for a while, but I think with at least one of the Lake Union known options, there can be problems getting two beds.

Wherever you end up staying, Whole Foods will probably be a convenient location for you to pick up some prepared food that's pretty reasonably priced.

  8. Although you should get sleeping spaces for three if you book for three people on HOTWIRE, I'd still send the hotel a reminder about it. I once booked a hotel on Hotwire for three people, and the clerk told me that it was booked for one queen bed. He agreed that I had booked for three people and changed it to two queens, but if the hotel had been out of rooms it could have been a problem. So when you win your hotel for three people, send a friendly email to the hotel telling them that you are looking forward to your stay, that you booked a room for three on HOTWIRE, and you want to know what type of room you will get.

  9. Keep in mind that particularly for a honeymoon, a 3* Italian hotel can be rather basic, and might fall short of what you like, even if the price is rather high.

I wouldn't consider a daytrip to Venice - that is a minimum of 4.5 hours by train. Florence is possible, as it's 90 minutes by train.

To get an idea of the general prices, have you taken a look at both individual airfare prices for your dates (even if it's not the best time to buy now), and regular hotel prices for your dates, and package deals for your dates? I think $800/person total is impossibly optimistic.

In Rome, nice and modern chain hotels are located mainly on the outskirts. Nice, modern chain hotels in the center of Rome are very expensive at regular rates, although you can sometimes get a good deal with PRICELINE or HOTWIRE. 4.5* on Hotwire or 5* on Priceline will generally guarantee a nice hotel in a nice location (no guarantees, though).
