  1. I am guessing this is the Best Western on Holcomb Bridge Road, but a similar award had different amenities in August '08. Any ideas? I'm looking for 12/18-12/19. Breakfast, Pool, High-Speed Internet
  2. That was probably the Hyatt Place, Windward Parkway, Alpharetta. We took the chance and got that for $59 for a guest. We also got the same hotel with a priceline.com bid of $55, but then they changed their star ratings.
  3. Very happy for our employee visiting our office. This is the best we could have hoped for. :) $47 this time
  4. Accepted!!! :) The best hotel in North Atlanta.
  5. We seem to only get this, which is a nice hotel. I see the other posts where people have gotten the Hyatt Suites. That is even better.
  6. I dont believe this post. We try this bid a lot (before, this hotel was 3-star) and it never works at that price. At slightly higher prices, it never gives the Hyatt Regency. That is one of the nicer hotels in this area. Someone was posting amounts in the 30's for this hotel. It NEVER takes anything below $43. Mulitple people in my company have tried with no success, even when it was 3 stars. I dont know what they are doing differently, but I'm not sure I believe this.
  7. My advice: bid $77 in the Walt Disney World area (Resorts) and be happy with the Omni Champions Gate. It was awesome and has shuttles going everywhere (you can call them to see about Sea World). The staff is nice, the hotel is great, and the area is away from the cheezy International Drive area. It has an unbelievable lazy river pool and is very clean. The restaurants are very good, also. Good luck.
  8. Priceline.com has changed their star ratings in this area since the advent of the 3.5 star category. This will throw a curve now. Still, this is a nice win and a good hotel.
  9. Two Notes on the Georgia list: 1. We had our AC break and had to go to a Roswell-Alpharetta hotel in June (dont remember the exact dates). We bid 2 1/2 star, Roswell-Alpharetta, $52 and got the Hyatt Place, Alpharetta, Windward Parkway (nice win). I will try to go get the dates, but it was June '08. 2. The Hilton Marietta Conference Center (previously was not a Hilton) is now a 3-star on priceline.com. They recently downgraded it. I also have some Disney bids where we, like everyone else, got the Omni Resort (nice hotel). I will update after our stay. I believe my family used your link for these bids. Know any discount Disney ticket sites that can be trusted? Thanks for hosting this. I am unable to replicate some of the car rental wins in SE Florida that your bidders have entered. I believe them, but priceline.com hasn't been that generous with me.
  10. You mentioned that the Sheraton - Bal Harbor, the Eden Roc, and the Fountainbleau could be gotten with a priceline.com bid on Miami Beach, Resorts. It looks like the Sheraton-Bal Harbor is no longer a Sheraton. Do you know what happened to it? Do you know if the new owner has it up on priceline.com and what category it is? My guess is that there is a > 90% chance that this bid of Resorts in Miami Beach will get the Fountainbleau for the dates of 7/27/08 - 8/1/08 because the Eden Roc is not available and the Sheraton does not exist. What do you think?
  11. I would guess Ft. Lauderdale Grande on the Las Olas hotel, though the Renaissance is right next door almost. The Renaissance should be the only one in that area on PRICELINE.com, if that is desired. I have a question on Resorts - Miami Beach. I'll post a new topic.
  12. I've seen the review on Trip Advisor that the Le Meridien hotel on Sunny Isles has bed bugs. How much would you believe this? There are a lot of international travelers and I've heard that Europe has this problem more so, but the Le Meridien would be such a nice win for the price. Are there any chances that HOTWIRE or PRICELINE could give us the Aventura Fairmont or the Trump Sonesta ?
  13. Boutique, Near Beach, Smoke Free, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Hi-Speed Internet, Golf nearby Dates 7/27 - 8/1, Price - $209 (no tripadvisor review info) Any ideas?
  14. Is 4.5 in this area always the Intercontinental (with those amenities)? I'm traveling with a small dog and they allow pets. Something like the Hyatt does not, but most in that area do. HOTWIRE seems more unpredictable than PRICELINE.com.
  15. $43/night - thought I had done that. Sorry. Marietta, GA - 3-star is one of the best bidding situations in all of the US. The competition among the hotels is fierce, leading to an almost certain good deal.
  16. We typically do this for our employees visiting our office and have gotten this hotel a few times. This is a nice hotel. The best one could hope for in this category is the Hyatt Suites on windy Hill, but that is rarer.
  17. :) I dont know why they awarded this one. This is a 4-star property. Perhaps it is because they are getting ready for renovations. The only problem is that this is far from the Perimeter (8 miles).
  18. This bid is always a good hotel, but this is the first time for the Marriott.
  19. If you've never stayed at that hotel before, it is a phenomenal hotel. $39 is an incredible price, too. I just bid $50 in that same area for a 3-star for one of my visitors and got the Marriott NW (not as nice, but closer to our office) for 6/4-6/6.
  20. Tried your link for the weekdays - still got rejected at $71/day. Will it get more likely as we get closer to the dates? Is that the way priceline.com works???
  21. Bid $51, Accepted (two nights, two rooms). Mariott SFO Airport Looks like a nice win for two of my employees. However, I can't get the weekdays. Bids have failed all the way up to $107. Will I have a greater chance as it gets closer to the dates? Does priceline.com lower the winning bid amount as we get closer? I need the following week (the entire week) and it won't work.
  22. 3 star - Priceline, Atlanta, Marietta 5/12 - 5/15, $53, Hyatt Regency Suites Bid for someone visiting our company, saved big $$$ Looks very nice. :)
  23. We bid $103 for two rooms, and got the Westin, Princeton, NJ, 4/10 (check-out on the 11th). It offered us to extend our stay and we chose to go back a night and pick up the 9th. It wouldn't take it, but offered us a chance to up our bid for the 9th to $121 and we took that. The retail sites had over $200 for both those nights. Since the 3rd night (Friday) was cheaper on the retail sites ($129), we decided a few days later to bid on that night lower. After a few unsuccessful attempts, we finally got the third night (two rooms again) for $81. The hotel was fine. It is a little dated but the staff is extremely friendly and the rooms were large. The lobby area is very nice and the restaurant is (Japanese Steak House) is great. We ate there both nights. I would recommend this hotel. We were very happy and will stay there again. :)
