First attempt yesterday Same parameters as above. Bid price: $164 Did not receive price rejection right away. Instead I received the following message: "Thank you for your patience. We're still looking for a hotel room at your price and should have an answer for you within 15 minutes." I didn't get a response all day and according to customer service the bid didn't go through.

Didn't have good luck with Priceline but I got a deal on Hotwire. Rate per night: $66.00 Nights: 2 Rooms: 1 Tax recovery charges & fees: $25.51 Trip total: $157.51 I used the HOTWIRE link from betterbidding.com

Update: I tried again with a 3* bid at $62 and then added 2.5* with a $65 bid and was declined. I turned to Hotwire instead and won there. I used the Priceline and HOTWIRE links from Betterbidding.com

First bid of $68 won the 4* Sofitel in Redwood City. Taxes/fees came to 15.64. I really wanted to stay in the Sofitel and it worked out with PL since they only had one 4* in that area (HW had three 4* hotels in their larger area designation). Current Sofitel online price is $130 but earlier in the week the online rates $78
