Online rates at the V now dropped to $269 each day for May 18, 19 and 20. Up to now, especially the 18th has been consistently higher ($369) then the other days. HW, though, still asks for $248 ... ts ts ts ...

On PL, I now got again a counteroffer at $214.

Update as of now: Venetian: $220 MGM: $121 on Hotwire And if I change the dates: 5/19-5/21 Venetian: $251 MGM: $108 5/20-5/21 Venetian: $243 MGM: $105 Interesting !

Venetian was $237 and MGM $113 yesterday on Hotwire. Today back to the usual $252/$131. My backup (cancelable) is the Mandalay Bay at $129 since I don't want to end up in a Time Share presentation :)

Both are back ... strange thing.

FWIW, as of now neither the Venetian nor the (most likely) MGM are available on Hotwire. :)

Normally, from recent experiences, the counteroffer can be beaten by around 50% of the difference, in this case ~$135. But I did not want to to go that high because I'm quite sure that I'll get a better price one to two weeks before. Note to the moderator: I had no intention to open a new thread b/c I have no problem with my bid. Therefore I replied to a similar thread instead of opening a new one. No need to split my answer off and create an "HELP" thread IMO ...

Hi folks, I'm looking for the Venetian from May 18-21, too. Yesterday, I've made some interesting observations: The price on Hotwire was at first $181, rose later to $212 and is as of now $252 ! I tried Priceline again and got a counteroffer at $172 for a bid of $99 but declined. I wonder that the price at Hotline does vary that much during the day.
