Rather complicated. Bidded up $200 (ultimate max) for 20-24 July but still nothing! Won't you believe it?! So decided to split the bids up to 2 days. Started at $130 rejected then $145 accepted for W New York! Couldn't believe it would be that easy! Hoping to get an extension but to my surprise got rejected.... So bidded for my other half but due to duplication (the extension bid) I stupidly bidded for one day and got accept again at $145 Praying as I scrolled down and it's not W New York (NO!)! They gave me Grand Hyatt New York. Tried extending another night but got counteroffered $321+tax - as us Brits would say 'piss off! Luckily I was going to use Grand Hyatt as my backup and got a good deal for their Regency Club room for $320 with breakfast & snack in the evening and other facilities not available for normal delux kings - a bit extravagant but was going to treat myself on the last day. Rack rate $450 Not over the moon with the split but happy with it over, especially was prepared to flash out $200 per room per night on Priceline..... Week days certain a tough cookie to get....

Thanks for updating. I've been bidding for 4* in MTE/MTW/MTS for weeks for 20/7 to 24/7 but no luck so far (up to $180 from 130). Hope will get some luck like you this coming week. Great win by the way. By the way, did it ask you to extend? Considering spliting the bid but really want to stay in the same hotel during my stay.

Hello, just want to share my struggle getting a 4* hotel in SF really. Been bidding for a room in either USW/USE for absolutely ages! From $80 all the way to $150 for the last few weeks. I have used priceline for a while so do know rebid zones and all that. Can't see any huge convention going on during my travel period. Although it's week days surely can't be THAT bad. Can't really be bothered to get a backup as 4* will also be available even up to last minute - at a price! In hope that priceline will receive more inventory next week as we are now in July. Anyone having the same kind of 'luck' want to vent?? Feel free! PS: I used to have another login name but can't remember any of my login details (stupid me)
