  1. Need help to id this hotel Hey this was a new one for me, but the Hotwire listing doesn't give any info about the property. Any ideas on what this listing might be? -Thanks
  2. Greetings, and many thanks for the community of this board. My friends now think I am some sort of expert at getting rooms now! I try to always use the links at the top of the page, can you just click in the name and and not put all the other info in? (and wait til the next page opens) PK
  3. Used the PRICELINE link and rebid three times - $64, $74, $89 The star rating is very accurate for the hotel.
  4. I just got stuck with one of these "resort fees", I did send a email to customer service and have not heard back. It just does not seem fair to not disclose fee- when you have to pay first and cant change your mind. We paid $16 extra- We arrived at 9:30 pm and left at 7am, so we didn't get any use of the "resort" and it being a little late at night (pool and hot tub closed) didn't play tennis, hike ect. we didn't get much for our money. But on the other hand our stay at the Chaminade in Santa Cruz, CA was great! I actually think is was the nicest room for the price I have ever had, anywhere so I didn't make much of a stink to the hotel about the fee, only asked to remove the charge because of our arrival and depart time. They promptly said NO. Has anyone had Hotwire make amends ? Well, just my 2c worth. PK
  5. The booking was for 1/21/2009, one night only- I originally but this in my subject line (along with the price) but I think I exceeded the maximum amount of letters. :)
  6. Price Was $129 This hotel features the following amenities: Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services This is an amazing hotel, super quiet and com The price on there website is $159 so the discount was just ok, but we were making late plans and it was too late to use PRICELINE. -I guess HOTWIRE lets you book later into the night. Also, we were charged a extra $16 "Resort" fee- HOTWIRE doesn't tell you about this 'til after you have paid and confirmed. I don't think this Hotel was on the Hotwire list for the Santa Cruz area, Cheers, this site is a great tool, thanks as always! :)
  7. Sorry! I'm still getting the hang of this board- I did priceline a room in Salavdor Brazil once- We went to a nice shopping mall the same day we needed a room & found a internet cafe and bidded it for half retail price and got it, amazing! PRICELINE and HOTWIRE are quite handy.
  8. Palace Hotel- Luxury Collection Booked through HOTWIRE Link on Better Bidding Amenities: Fitness Center Pool Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Spa Hotel details: Location: Union Square East Star rating: 4.5-star Check-in date: Sat, Aug 30 Check-out date: Mon, Sep 1 Price summary Hotel rate per night: $149.00 Nights: 2 Rooms: 1 Subtotal $298.00 Tax recovery charges & fees: $46.39 Total price: $344.39 Kinda Pricey for us, but this is a busy weekend. This option was less costly than other lower star rated hotels for the same nights. My friend told me that this is a great hotel but the parking is $50 per day! His advice is to park across the street at the Paramont- $22 per night. The photos sure look nice!!!! The bar has a large Maxfield Parish painting across the back wall. Thanks for this great site. PK
  9. Greetings rynodaddyo, I just wanted to jump in with a couple of ideas for your trip. I'm a SF bay local and I love to take friends from out of town on the Ferry from SF to Oakland, it's a quick cheap ride across the bay under the Oakland-SF Bay Bridge between the Ferry Plaza in SF, to Jack London Square in Oakland. The Bart train in underground most of the way so the views are not so good. Both of these spots are fun, and have great shopping. The Farmer's Market at the Ferry Plaza in SF is a great place to have a very good lunch on Sundays. You can take the historic street cars to the plaza from Market Street in SF, or walk from a downtown hotel. I'm not sure about the logistics of the trip from Jack London Square to the ballpark in Oakland but its not that far for a cab ride or bus. The views of SF from the water are great and you will also see the park in SF. Hope this helps, have a great trip. There is a big convention that weekend in SF - "Slow Food Nation" so a lot of rooms are more costly, I need to start looking for some rooms my self! The Slow Food Nation will have a lot of events also, live music, food tasting ect. PK
  10. The Prices Are: 2* $114 4* condo $150 4* Hotel $208 3* Hotel $141 These are all in the North Lake Tahoe area- The 2* Is of interest as it has the "near beach" amenity listed.
