Based on bids from yesterday, I bid for one night (6/7): $43 45 & 47. All rejected.
Question: Bidding for MCO at 3.5 star level. Is it safe to use Ocoee - Orlando West (3 stars) or
Orlando East (3 stars) as a rebid? I fear they will "grab" my 3.5 bid.
Please give me some advice on this!
Thanks
I was a bit wary because the Hotwire description only showed the following amenities:
Airport Shuttle
Fitness Center
Restaurant(s)
Business Center
High-speed Internet Access
It did not include pool or laundry as earlier posters and the list of Pinned Hotels had indicated, so I wasn't sure it would be the Hilton Garden Inn Airport. I was happy to see that in fact it was!

Looking for Hotel in Fishkill area for July 15, 2010
Hotwire shows the following: Any ideas re its identities?
3-star hotel in Fishkill for $73. Recommended in 65% of Hotwire Customer reviews [how do I pursue this?]
The 2 possibilities I thought would be Courtyard and Holiday Inn.
This hotel features the following amenities:
Fitness Center

Restaurant(s)
Laundry Facilities
High-speed Internet Access
In the same area (Fishkill) is a 2.5* hotel for $69 but NO AMENITIES ARE SHOWN???? and as to Hotwire customer reviews, "We are still gathering reviews for this property." Makes me a bit nervous!
A hotel in the Newburgh - Stewart Intl Airport SWF area hotel is shown with 2.5 stars at $69.
Amenities are:
Airport Shuttle
Complimentary Breakfast
Fitness Center
Pool(s)
High-speed Internet Access
Recommended in 45 % of Hotwire customer reviews [not so great]
The only hotels listed in the Hotwire Pinned hotels are:
2.5* Holiday Inn Express in Fishkill (which shows a complimentary breakfast)
2* Super 8 in Newburgh - Stewart Airport
Would appreciate any suggestions are help in identifying the hotel above. Thanks!
What hotel did you "win?"
First bid of $35 accepted. Reviews are mixed on Trip Advisor and there are some unfortunate additional Resort Fees & Parking Charges. Would have preferred the Radison, but we'll see. Took optional travel insurance because of all the flu & other bugs going around.
Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $35.00 (USD)
Number of Rooms: 1
Number of Nights: 3
Travel Insurance: $15.00 (USD)
Room Subtotal: $120.00 (USD)
Taxes and Fees: $21.96 (USD)
Total Room Cost: $141.96 (USD)
Did use PRICELINE link on your website. Thanks for all the helpful information on your wonderful website!

The price went down another dollar (from $43 to $42) and I grabbed it.

Used your HOTWIRE Link
Many thanks for your help!

Sorry, since I was considering hotels in the Beachwood area so I thought I needed to start a new topic. However, I will continue to update this thread. After reading about the recent Priceline win at the Hyatt Arcade, I might give that a try. Will certainly use your link to book and will let you know how I did. Thanks for your help and encouragement!
Would appreciate help in identifying the following Cleveland hotel:

I'm about to get going again with a downtown Cleveland hotel. The current offering on Hotwire shows the following:
3.5-star hotel in Downtown Cleveland for $64.
This hotel features the following amenities:
Fitness Center
Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply.
Restaurant(s)
Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary.
Business Center
Guests have access to business equipment and services; an additional charge may apply.
High-speed Internet Access
Guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access; an extra charge may apply.
My question: SSPS posted a win for 5/27 showing the Doubletree with the same amenities, but at a price of $49. What is the likelihood that the $64 price will drop back down if I wait? Thanks
Thanks, that does help. What is the "S" icon you refer to?
Do you have a site that would show me the locations of the various hotels mentioned? Is the Doubletree near the Wyndham at Playhouse Square?
Again, my thanks!

Thanks!
Update: Had a great stay at this gorgeous hotel. Attention to detail was amazing. Be sure to ask for a room NOT overlooking the pool to avoid being seranaded by a good but loud band. This was a real "scene" and fun to watch, but not if you wanted to sleep!! Restaurant was outstanding -- the best cubano ever and a Lobster Cobb salad to die for! :)
Don't forget you have to add $8 to park---
We turned in our rental car the night before and took the Marriott Shuttle back to thte hotel (we had already checked in and left our luggage in our room). The next morning we took the Shuttle from the Marriott to the airport. Very convenient and saved a lot of hassle (not to mention the $8!).
Also, we had a delightful and delicious light dinner outside by the pool (Luxe Restaurant). Shared a huge ceasar salad with blackened mahi mahi and a yummy apple tart. Couldn't have been nicer!
The hotel was great -- highly recommended -- especially at the PRICELINE price!! :)
Here are the listed amenities:

QUESTION: Not sure I understand when hotels pick up certain bids. If I had bid higher, would I have gotten a different hotel ... or the same hotel at a highere price.
Thanks for the help (I read the advice to other posters looking for the same time).
Think we're going to have to sleep standing up!
Would like a hotel in the MTE or MTW or CPS area. Please suggest a bidding strategy. Any suggestions re getting a room with 2 double beds or room for a rollaway for a child?
