  1. Could someone recommend a bidding strategy for a 2.5* in the Cincinnati (Kings Island Area)?
  2. OK, I'll go with the 2.5* Cincinnati (Kings Island Area). Springhill Suites web rate is $139. Would this be even higher than the above 3* in Sharonville? For a max, I'm going to guess $50 for a 2.5*, unless it's going to be higher than the 3* (then I'll try for the 3* again in Sharonville).
  3. I guess I was hoping for advice. Is a 3* likely to be over $60? Even though the regular rates aren't too much more? If so, I want the 2.5*.
  4. Now the least expensive is most important. If you think it's going to be much more than $45, I'm also thinking about th 2.5* Springhill Suites in the Kings Island area. Reviews say the 2.5* Amerisuites Blue Ash is a dump and about to change names/be remodeled, so no on that area. I only have 1 more chance to bid before leaving.
  5. Nothing was accepted. What would you guess the lowest bid would be? I should have asked this before deciding on my max. Hotwire shows a 3* for $86.
  6. I am willing to pay a little more (say $10) to be in that zone (actually just for that hotel though I know it's not guaranteed), but considering the rate is cheaper there, should I have to? Oops. My max would be around $45.
  7. I didnt mention (not sure if I needed to or it's assumed), I am looking for bidding assistance. :)
  8. Any of these 3 areas is fine, though the North - Sharonville is preferred because of the Sheraton there. Is this the only 3* hotel in that area? website rates: 3*Sheraton Cincinnati North (North - Sharonville) $109 3* Holiday Inn Cinncinnati Blue Ash (Northeast - Blue Ash) $115 3* Holiday Inn Cincinnati I-275 North (Northeast - Blue Ash) $99.75 BTW, there is now a 3 star offered in the King's Island area but there's not one listed in the hotel list here.
  9. thereuare, yes that's correct on the two zones I'm trying to decide on. Thanks for the tip on the Sundowner Inn. Colfax, yes I was rejected to $100 for 3* in Milpitas and Santa Clara/Sunnyvale. So, I think I'll pass on a 2.5* in Santa Clara, and try for one in just Milpitas. So I have no free rebids with a 2.5* in Milpitas, right? I can't check right no because of this friend's PC I'm on (AOL, javascript doesn't work). I'll be on my own PC later tonight. So should I try $60 for a 2.5* in Milpitas? From what I understand, PL adds more fees that HW, so I'm not sure at what point would it be more than HW's $83 for the Best Value. And PL/HW's star ratings don't match up do they? Or is HW's 3.5* still a lot better than PL's 2.5*? BTW, staying in either zone is perfectly OK with me (other than what hotel I might get in that zone).
  10. Priceline didn't send me the 'you can now bid again' message until Sat. Is it 48 hours now? I tried bidding up to $80 but it was not accepted. Tried the other account but even Sat, it still said I'd already tried that bid. And it had received the 'you can bid again' message by then too. I was trying for $85, and only had 1 (or 2?) of the areas selected. Any idea why it wouldnt work? I tried adding all 3 areas and since I had no more free rebids, I bid $100, but it wasn't accepted. Strange it worked after I selected all 3 areas though. So I'm a bit ticked they wasted one of my days. Now I'll have to look at 2.5*. Any idea which of those two areas is better for hotels? Or how much to bid? I would hope for no more than $60 for a 2.5*.
  11. It's saying I've already made that request. It was 24 hours since my last bid about 40 minutes ago. Isn't it 24 hours that you have to wait?
  12. Unfortunately they didn't accept $60. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to try again. What 3 bids should should I try next? Again, what is the lowest you think I could get a room in this area for?
  13. $80 for a 3* was not accepted in Santa Clara. But it's not preferred if Milpitas is 'better', as I asked about above. Especially if the hotels are cheaper. But of the reviews on BB for the 3*'s there, while the Crowne Plaza Silicon Valley sounds nice, the Beverly Heritage reviews are not good. Current prices: 3* Beverly Heritage $170 3* Crowne Plaza Silicon Valley $159 What is the lowest you think I could get a room in this area for? If it's higher than $80, I'll keep trying Santa Clara (for higher than $80).
  14. Wow, great price! How was I only about to get the Hyatt for $80 on 7/26? Similar dates. And $60 for the Hilton 7/27-7/28.
  15. Hmm, not a bad idea about Milpitas. Looks to be only about 6 miles from Great America. Any idea how the 3* hotels there would compare to the 3*'s in Santa Clara/Sunnyvale? Also are there more restaurants, etc in Milpitas? If it's a 'better' place with similar hotels to SC, it's close enough that I might not even try for Santa Clara. Maybe I should have just bid on 4 nights there to begin with.
  16. No luck with a 4* as I stated in this priceline san jose thread. Current prices: 3* Biltmore Hotel $229 [This was showing $199 last week for the same day. Maybe it was for a different room? Can't remember. It's saying "full size garden room" not available now] 3* Sheraton Sunnyvale - not available [was showing $207 last week] 3* Four Points - this hotel closed but is still listed on the hotels list. See: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g3...California.html My max is $60.(?) I probably should have bid on a 3* last week. Why is the Biltmore as high as the 4*? Might be willing to go up to $80 next round. Else look at other areas.
  17. $50 not accepted. Not willing to go any higher since total with taxes/fees on a $50 bid was $64.79. Thank you.
  18. Looking for bidding assistance for a 3* in downtown Nashville for 7/14-7/15 (1 night). My max is $50. Current online best rates now: 3* Doubletree Hotel $169 3* Holiday Inn Select $142 3* Sheraton $139 3* Union Station Wyndham - none available
  19. At $80? I wouldn't be any cheaper than that would it? $219 isn't far off from the Hilton's rate of $209, when they accepted my $60.
  20. Actually I bid $80 as my first bid and it was accepted for the 26th. But unfortunately I got the Hyatt instead. I was thinking it was sold out. Good news is it's right across the street, so no big deal at all. How much should I try to Add a Night for (25th)?
  21. $120 for both days wasn't accepted. You think I could get it for less than $120 for just 7/26? If I don't do that, do I need to start a new thread for a 3* bidding assistance for those 2 days?
  22. Yep, when I click to Add a Night, it gives me the 'sorry' message it gave after I actually used it to bid before. Still trying to decide whether I should bid $120 for 7/26, or 7/25 and 7/26.
  23. Ah, so it's not sold out. OK, I'll bid on both nights (7/25-7/27). So would you recommend starting at $120 or working up to it?
