  1. How much do you think a PL could be had for 1 night 9/28 for at least a 2.5*? These are the internet current prices. Seems high. 3* Marriott at the Convention Center $149 3* Sheraton Read House $149 2.5* Holiday Inn $122.55 (this is for the Choo Choo H.I. Not sure if it's the one on PL).
  2. $43 accepted - Courtyard By Marriott Cleveland Beachwood. Thank you
  3. $40 was rejected. When bidding $37, I had the chance to rebid again $10 higher (I didn't). Whats the lowest I might get this room for? I think there were recent $40 wins (yep, different days).
  4. Looking for bidding assistance for this area, only because it's close to Geauga Lake in Aurora. If this is not a good area, please advise. My max is $40. Only 1 free rebid zone (Brookpark - Brooklyn). Current rates: 2.5* Amerisuites - I can't find this. Is it the Hyatt Place? $89 2.5* Courtyard Beachwood $109 2.5* Courtyard Independence $89 FYI, the 3* Doubletree South is only $99. Didnt check the other 3*'s.
  5. $75 accepted, 3* Crowne Plaza Resort (Asheville). Thanks again for the help.
  6. HW is $112. That is what I would use if I'm not successful with PL. Basically I'll bid any amount up to about $110. It's been 24 hours, so I can hopefully bid again with my account, plus my girlfriend can use her account and she can bid. So could I get two bidding strategies? Hopefully I'll still get something decent. Though I sure was hoping to do this yesterday. In my limited experience, it always *seems* like the day of or day before, the lowest bids they accept are higher.?
  7. Per Expedia: Ramada Plaza Biltmore West $160 Baymont Inn Asheville/Biltmore Estate - none available
  8. Good strategy. See my notes in bold. Select 3* Glen Allen... Bid $35, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* West End... Bid $35, After this, I got "If you are willing to raise your price by $9, you can try the same request again right now." if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* Innsbrook... Bid $35, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* Airport... Bid $35, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* Downtown... Bid $35, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* Midlothian... Bid $35, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* Glen Allen and West End... Bid $38, After this bid, I got " If you are willing to raise your price by $11, you can try the same request again right now." if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* Innsbrook and Airport... Bid $38, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* Downtown and Midlothiam... Bid $38, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* Glen Allen and Innsbrook... Bid $41, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* West End and Downtown... Bid $41, ACCEPTED - Sheraton Richmond West Hotel (West End). if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* Airport and Midlothiam... Bid $41, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* Glen Allen and West End and Innsbrook... Bid $43, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* Downtown and Midlothiam and Airport... Bid $43, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* Glen Allen and West End and Innsbrook and Downtown and Midlothiam and Airport... Bid $45. Thanks!
  9. I dont understand your first sentence. Sounds like this forum works a bit different than any other? As I mentioned, there's no 2.5* reported for this area, so do I go to hotwire to get a price for a 2.5*? I'm not sure how to find a 2.5* hotel name, so I can't get a regular rate. Hotwire is showing $112 and $162 for what they call 2.5* rated hotels.
  10. I have never been to the area and don't know anything about it. We're only going to Kings Dominion (in Doswell), staying the night, then leaving the area. Just didn't know if anyone knew of any bad areas. Price is most important to me. I preferred those 3 since they're northside, but I'll take any zone.
  11. $48 accepted. They auto upgraded me to a 3* - Millennium Hotel Durham. Thanks for the help.
  12. Sorry, what I meant was what do you think I should bid?
  13. Looking for bidding assitance, please. 3* or better. Hoping to get a zone on the north side of Richmond, either Glen Allen or Richmond West End, or else Innsbrook. But I'd take any zone (if it's safe). Would $45 be possible? There's a reported win for 3* Richmond (West End) Sheraton $41 ... 10/6/06-10/8/06. Also a 4* Richmond (West End) Crowne Plaza, $44 ... 6/17/06-6/19/06.
  14. $62 for 3* was not accepted. Guess I'd like to try for a 2.5* again. What should I bid?
  15. $45 not accepted. BTW, after I had bid $40, I got: Also, I chose to edit details instead, added a zone, and bid $45. On the next screen, I got a msg Enter the last four digits of your MasterCard card to verify your identity., instead of the normal 'enter your initials'. Just curious why. Would a 2.5* likely be $52 as it suggested? How much do you think a 3* would be?
  16. $50 not accepted for a 2.5*. I'll try for a 3* again. So $60? I'd probably go to $62 before trying for a 2.5* again above $50.
  17. $55 was not accepted. I've decided I want to try for the 2.5* first. Do you think $45 would do it? $50? If that's not accepted, I'll go for 3* around $60, as you suggested.
  18. I'm looking for bidding assistance for a 2.5* or better, with a max bid of about $45 or so (?). Current internet rates: 3* Durham Hilton (near Duke University) $119 3* Marriott Civic Center $149 3* Millennium Hotel Durham $139 2.5* Courtyard Durham near Duke University-Downtown $89
  19. I wanted to stop on my way through Asheville and stay one night. I will not be doing anything in the area other than staying the night. I'm looking for bidding assistance for a 3*, with a max bid of about $55. I don't care what zone it's in. Currrent Asheville 3* internet rates: 3* Crowne Plaza $115 3* Renaissance $189 If I can't get it for $55, I *might* drive another hour to Spartanburg, SC since there are some winning bids listed this summer for $45 for a 3*. I'd prefer to not have to though since it will already be late at night/early in the morning by the time I hit Asheville. Or I might drop down to a 2.5* in Asheville (at a lower bid?), but there are no reported winning bids on a 2.5* (and obviously it's not in BB's hotel list).
  20. Ah, nowhere near worth worrying about. I was thinking $15 or so. Thanks
  21. I'm taking a trip to a 2 different cities but am considering bidding on hotels in cities that are between each of my starting points and destinations, to cut down on diving time. I'll be saying 3 nights total. When using priceline, would I get a better or worse rate by bidding on 3 different hotels for 1 night each, vs. 2 hotels with 2 nights in one of them and 1 in the other? Also, would I pay more in fees with 3 hotels vs. 2?
  22. Not accepted. As I mentioned, I have no more bids today. It wouldnt be until tonight, after I've left. I could possibly make another account. What should I bid for the 3*? $85 for a max. I wish I'd known to bid higher than $45 before. Also, if I were to bid again on this 2.5*, what should I bid?
